I have previously used this shop twice without issues. However, the last time I used the shop, a patch just needed to be sewn onto a jacket. It was to take 1.5 weeks. Upon arrival to pick up the jacket, at 6pm on the day it was due, Mr. Young admittedly had not started on it yet and asked me to come back in 30 minutes! His reasoning was prom season and very busy. I did not like that my garment was put on the backburner that would literally take less than 30 minutes to sew on. No apology or discount offered. This was without a doubt the WORST customer service experience I have ever had. Not just within alterations but any experience ever. I have never felt so disrespected in an establishment. I have been to this tailor shop twice. Both times for bridesmaids dresses the first one was $220 and the second $200. The first dress I brought them did not fit originally, I needed it brought in in the waist and I needed the straps to be altered to not slip off my shoulders. I brought it in and they put in the pins. I felt that along the way there was a miscommunication but was short on time and appreciative that they would do it within two weeks. When I picked it up the dress fit better in the waist but the straps did not fit and would not stay up. $80 cost for alterations even though it was wrong. I brought my second dress to them thinking this time it might be different I wanted to give them a second chance. Similar issues with the dress, waist did not fit, it was too long, and the straps were falling off. They were suppose to see in a new clasp to help. When I came to pick it up the dress and it did not fit. The underarms were way too tight!! The straps did not stay up and there was no clasp!! I was very upset. I explained where they messed up and how it was not what we agreed on! We fought about it and they would not budge on price until I said I would write a review. She said it was because I gained weight (in under two weeks!!!!!!), said I was too fat for the dress. She said I was too rich not to pay because my dress was $2000. She said that it's my fault for not asking for the right thing the first time when I tried on the dress. Really? Finally, she dropped the price from $80 to $45 and continued to yell at me and would not take my card. I seriously thought about just leaving. Finally she took my card and charged me $50. I've been to the shop a couple times already. I'm noticing that I'm stopping in more and more frequently. I've taken 4 pants and 2 shorts over 4 different visits. They do a great job. Turn around time is relatively quick. About 5-6 calendar days (I was used to waiting up to two weeks to get my items back from my other tailor). Decently priced, 25ish for a hem and taper for pants. Nice friendly couple. They have my business for the foreseeable future. read more

I've come to Young's several times to get a few dresses of mine fixed/addressed and I'll probably continue coming here for quite some time. At first, I went into fix some sequins on a dress that had fallen off. The second time was to take in a bridesmaid dress that looked like a paper bag on me. All in all, all of the dresses were completed in a timely manner and prior to me departing, they always wanted to make sure that I was OK with the timing, etc. The sequin dress looks pretty much perfect and the bridesmaid dress no longer looks like a paper bag on me - yay! There were two ladies there that were both very friendly to me and Mr. Young just tells you like it is. Brought in a jumpsuit to have hemmed and taken in a bit on Thursday. The gentleman asked if the following Wednesday would be ok....sure. When I came to pick it up on Wednesday, they hadn't done anything and told me to come back 30 minutes to an hour!!?. Horrible! Use this place once before for emergency suit tailoring. So, I brought my 7 Jeans to be altered. They cut 1 leg 3/4" too short. Said 1 of my legs was short. Then I laid them out & showed 3/4 too short. They kept saying it was just 1/4 & they could fix. I just wanted a refund for the price of my jeans. They said they needed the manager of the 7 store to verify they were new. Then they would have "to do research". Then they said they would have to call the manager of 7 store. They refused to just call the # on the receipt. Then they wouldn't tell me how to could get in touch with Mr. Young. Thankfully I brought a friend who stayed while I went to the 7 jean store. BEWARE OF THEIR MONOGRAM SERVICE! My neighbor recommended this shop when she found that I was still driving up to Plano to have my alterations done. It is close to my house and conveient to the grocery and pharmacy so, I decided to give it a try. Big mistake! The inconsistencies and redo alteration delays that I have experinced here make this tailor shop not worth the risk. I have experienced EXPERT service and alteration results from the Sr. Mr. Young. If an item is not done perfectly he immediately recognizes it and has item redone to perfection. I have also experienced POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and SHABBY ALTERATIONS on a few very expensive(over $300.00 expensive by my budget) items only to get them back so shabbily done that they had to be redone and never look the quality they did when purchased. By my trying to save money from the department store alterations( I buy most of my items on sale so alterations are extra)and choosing Youngs Tailor I have not had good outcomes. I actually took in a longed for and "finally on sale" $330.00 dress to be altered that was altered so poorly that I ended up buying the same dress again. Now out 660.00 + alterations! A good tailor is super important to those of us that spend alot on clothing and need almost everything hemmed or altered. If you choose to have monograming done here beware! I had a inexpensive bag monogramed here to check out the monograming before I took in any better items and gift items. They charge almost twice the amount that I have been paying for excellent monograming elsewhere, but they are much closer. The bag was done exactly as ordered and looked great so I felt comfortable taking in a gift apron and a saddle pad to be monogrammed. WOW, It is as if it were from a totally different shop that had done my bag so well! The apron was a totally different style than ordered and looked really bad with block and script mixed, and the saddle pad was done in the style and size that I had chosen BUT,it was in a totally different color than I had ordered. It was Pink instead of the neutral light cream color that I had chosen. The young man acted as if it were my falt hemmed and hawed over it and then told me the pink was a better color! They did redo the blanket for me in a smaller,not scaled to size tan color. It looks really odd now and I will now not be using this 50.00 + 17.00 monogram saddle pad. GUESS HE SHOWED ME! As I picked up my "redone" saddle pad he once again expressed the opinion that the pink was a better color as it matched the piping. I do agree that the pink was a perfect match, It was scaled to size, and looked great..EXCEPT for the fact that I as the customer had ordered cream for a reason! Today, I will be ordering the same saddle pad again, and going out to find a new apron to be monogramed for our friends birthday! It is sad because the Sr. Mr. Young appears to take pride in his business and respect and value his customers. I can no longer afford the extra time for redos, the stress of ruined garments, and the financial losses that I have experienced while doing business with Young's Tailors. Absolutely the worst tailor on the planet and can't speak English. I took 5 pants in to simply adjust the waist. Upon pick up, I tried them on. All were 2 inches too small! Mistakenly I paid him for the work, but he took the pants back for further adjustment. Upon my return one week later, all were 1 inches too big! Really?! My third trip back, all finally fit.... THEN HE TRIED TO CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR THE PANTS?! What?? Had no record of the charge. I had to bring him a copy of my credit card receipt to prove it. Do not go here whatever you do. read more

Took in 3 pair of HSM trousers - 2 for waist alteration and all 3 for length alteration. Waist alterations were done properly. For length alterations, all 3 were incorrect since he only measured from the back and did not mark the drop in the front. Additionally, a hem of over 4 inches was left in all of them. Paid full amount and will now have to take them to another tailor to correct this shoddy work. read more
