I only write reviews when I believe that the services that I receive are outstanding relative to…read morethe price paid. This is rare unfortunately in today's world. I can honestly say I had an outstanding experience with Falvo Funeral Home in Webster NY for recent (February 2017) services for my dad. Though this was a difficult time for us, I must say that everyone made the experience outstanding. The end to end experience was simply better than best. Everyone was pleasant, attentive, professional, and understanding. Diana Falvo and Rick Falvo were particularly great. Their energy and people skills are exemplary, Moreover, the home was like a French country house in a beautiful setting that was impeccably clean, beautifully furnished, and with plenty of parking. Their pricing was completely transparent and very reasonable - particularly for the service and the setting. I highly recommend anyone in the Rochester area that wants a beautiful service, in a great setting, at a reasonable price.

When it became time to seek out a funeral home for the passing of my wife's mother we looked around…read morewebster and saw there were a couple options. Being unprepared we started asking a few friends about the experiences they had with funeral homes in the area. The one name that came recommended multiple times was falvo's. Well we had been there a few times and if you have seen the building your first thought would probably be similar to mine which was we couldn't afford to go there. So we decided to call the smaller funeral homes in the area first and after the first two phone calls we noticed two things; prices apparently vary pretty significantly and even though this should be a time of compassion both calls were extremely business like with no sorry for your loss and a lot of talk about money and it being required at the time of our meeting. Well that all changed when we finally decided to call the falvo's. Within the first breathe of me explaining the situation I was FINALLY greeted with a very sorry for your loss and at this time I can answer as many questions you may have. It may sound simple but that was the first time I felt comfortable in these conversations. After a few minutes of discussing our options and the price differences we were shocked to find that not only were they extremely caring but their cost for the same services was less than the two other funeral homes. I can not explain how grateful we are for making her look so beautiful that we ended up keeping the casket open even though she had been sick for so long we didn't think it was going to be possible. We will always recommend this funeral home now just like they were to us.

I recently contacted Norton Funeral home to purchase a monument for my gr gr gr grandparents…read moreunmarked grave in the Butler - Savannah Cemetery. I told Todd Crockford that I wanted a 30x12x16 double slant monument and a sample drawing of what I wanted. His 1st response was it is "big", really I'm paying for it. Then he said I will send you a design and price in a few days. It never came so I reached out and he responded with s price range but no design. Another week went by before the design he became up with was sent to me. It was nothing and I mean nothing like the sample I sent him. So I told him I did not like it. By this time it was late and winter was upon us so I decided to wait until after the 1st of the year to proceed. In January 2022, I started the process again and I reached out to Todd and he informed me it would cost $1,950 and would send his design by the end of the day. It never came. A few days later, I get a text from him "Did you get my text?". I responded yes if you are referring to the price but no to the design. Three more days pass and I get this design with just the names on it and nothing else. My sample had a wheat design and wedding rings on it. I am very disappointed with their service. I sent him a text this morning that said I had gone with someone else. His response "Good". Really that is how you treat your potential customers. Well not this one I will never refer or use Norton Funeral Home. Lori Cannan

I don't know the full extent as to how this place handles things, the cost, the compassion towards the families, etc. I'm reviewing this as a guest. With that being said, my first impression of this funeral home is: WOW! THIS PLACE NEEDS SOME UPDATING! Like, I'm not sure why funeral homes seem to be stuck in like, 1980. The decor is old, worn and just not very appealing. Faded carpets, ugly wallpaper and heavy outdated drapes and furniture. The sad part is, most funeral homes seems to all resemble this one. So if you buried Grandma 20+ years ago, chances are, this place still looks the exact same as it did then. Funeral homes in general, including this one, need to get with the times and freshen up their look. Let's honor our loved ones in some style.

My FIL recently passed at 94 and the family wanted to have a service with an open casket viewing…read moretime and memorial service, followed by cremation two days later. As soon as he passed the nursing home arranged to have him promptly picked up and communication was excellent throughout the process. The service was to be held in the nursing home chapel with reception to follow, which would mean they would have to bring the body back. We arranged to have the casket brought to the nursing home for viewing and the service. Bryan (sp?) and Peter were wonderful and attended to every detail. They visited the nursing home prior to the day of the funeral to scope out where and how to best position the casket for privacy and discussed the best set up to make sure we approved. We worked together to decide timing and flow of private family and public viewing, and our desires to close the casket and say a final goodbye. They were completely respectful, informative, patient and interested in knowing the family's desires and making thoughtful suggestions. When discussing costs and services we felt absolutely no pressure to include 'add-ons' and were even directed towards Amazon to shop for urns for a better price and selection than what they had to offer. The day of the funeral Peter was there with Jackie, and Bryan also stopped in to make sure things were set even though they had had a large funeral earlier in the day. We had no expectation of seeing him that day. Peter also mentioned to me that ours was his fourth funeral of the day but one would never have known that from how he was present and attentive to ours. Prior to the family arriving while Peter was setting up the casket for viewing one of my FIL's nurses had stopped by and mentioned that he was usually clean-shaven (towards the end he had had some groomed facial hair). Peter immediately called me to clarify how he should look and was able to make the adjustment prior to our arrival. At 10pm the night before the cremation, the family changed their mind and decided that they wanted to be present for the cremation. Peter immediately answered our text regarding attending with details as to where to be and when. He met the family at the crematorium and allowed them one last time to open the casket, to include a blanket and to say one last goodbye. The cremation would not take place for another half hour and even though the family decided not to wait Peter, unprompted, sent my husband a short video of the casket going in for cremation. I cannot imagine what more we could've asked for from this experience. I can imagine how upsetting some of the negative experiences described in other reviews must have been during such a difficult time. The overwhelmingly positive experience we had was so comforting and made it so much easier to focus on other important aspects.

Please be clear if you do go with them that you let them know up front that you are not wasting their time with just a cremation. Its not worth their time unless you have full services. And not to mention, their cost is double what the other funeral homes charge. I cannot believe I had to deal with this after losing a family member. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!
