Poor scheduling of lessons with a very long gap until next lesson, at times instructors did not show up, rebooking is impossible as no one will contact you and trying to phone or email will have you on hold forever. My 16 yo son enrolled in YD June 2021. Completed the in-class sessions which were good. Then afterwards, there was absolutely no customer service: very difficult to book in-car lessons, no response to emails, being in a queue on the phone to speak to someone, instructor with "I'll contact you with my next opening" but not doing so... It's now the end of March 2022 and only received 5/8 of in-car lessons from October 2021 to January 2022. I don't think that is enough practice for a new driver. Website does not provide any information on how to request a refund - Answer: send an email to refunds@yd.com and you must do it within 1 year of course enrollment date. It seems that YD is meant for non-students because the only times that we could book in-car lessons was during a Pro-D or school vacation time. The Burnaby instructor was not available for after school lessons or weekends. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Young Drivers of Canada. When my son turned 16, 5 years ago, I put him through YD. When my daughter turned 16, 2 years ago, I put her through YD and I requested the same instructor that taught my son. Now my baby is turning 16 this July. It's a no brainer where I'll be sending her for driving lessons. Young Drivers of Canada!! AND I'll be requesting the same instructor that taught both my son and older daughter. Shout out to Rodney B.!!!!! I highly recommend this driving school. They are thorough with teaching new drivers. They understand the thought process of a new driver. They understand the financial burden for parents and offer payment plans. Their schedules are geared towards the family's schedule. Just good things to say about them all around! Learning how to drive wasn't easy, however, having an instructor like Sabine Clemens made my experience so much fun and stress free. Sabine is amazing! Her kindness, patience and calm personality made my experience with young drivers a wonderful One . I cannot thank Sabine enough for the time and energy she put into teaching me how to drive. Never once did Sabine lose her patience or show any signs of frustration. Sabine is a professional , I was lucky to have her as my teacher. As a mature student getting onto the road I had some anxiety starting fresh again. Never once did Sabine make me feel bad for my mistakes or lose her cool. If you're thinking of taking this course, do it! Ask for Sabine! She's a German rockstar! She deserves more than 5 stars . Thanks again:) read more

No customer service whatsoever. They might be good at teaching driving but they suck at order taking and customer service. website crashes during ordering but charge your card just fine. One call centre answers the calls and it takes some convincing to get to someone who knows something. read more

My overall feeling of Young Drivers is mixed because some of the instructors are very unprofessional while some are great. My in class experience was great but that's only the learning in class portion. When it came to actually driving I didn't have to best experience. The whole point of Young Drivers is to learn how to drive and learn skills along the way. I've been trying to learn how to drive since November 2018 and I'm still not finished and its October 2019 (almost a year!) They did give me 3 lessons for free but waiting months without any practice and then scheduled here and there with lessons made it really hard to learn how to drive. My fiancé works during the night and sleeps during the morning so I only have Young Drivers teaching me. They have an option for people like that but guess what... it's more money. My first instructors car was very dirty and dusty and he would always come late or would cancel on me last min (like the day of). I asked to switch instructors and this instructor would barley pay attention to my driving and had her attention on everything going on outside like the couch on the side of the road (instead of teaching me how to drive). Oh not to mention that I was driving a standard and multiple cars would honk at me because I was in the fast lane going slow, it felt horrible. I also stalled in the middle of a huge intersection by Marine way and could have gotten into an accident. I told her I didn't feel comfortable and she said you're fine, you look fine. Well, I TOLD her I was not feeling fine. Finally I got a new instructor and he was actually super awesome. I finally had a good instructor but a lot of my lessons had run out because of the other two instructors and didn't learn anything from them. I have my driving test next week and I don't know a lot of things I should've had plenty of time to practice. I don't know how to park at all and still get scared turning. Honestly if I could I would chose not to go with Young Drivers I wouldn't. It was really expensive and I don't have extra money for more lessons. I thought speaking to someone about how I didn't learn how to drive they would understand and do everything in their power to help the situation but because they gave me 3 other lessons apparently that was enough. Very difficult to book a lessons at convenient for you time. Some teachers don't care how you kid learning. Shortchange my kid 15 min of driving lesson. After I call office they told me they will adjust it next class and they didn't. After I call them again, they said they don't know anything. When I learn driving I hired private driving teacher which was way more cheaper, more convenient and way more beneficial. Don't recommend it to anyone. read more

I went to this school years ago with Knowledgeable instructors that made the rules of the road and driving make sense. The on field teacher was clear to understand, patient and some of the things that I learned 15 years ago are still in my head today. I am surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews 'cause honestly the way people drive in the city and the mom and pop indie driving schools out there, this is the legit real school. I am tired of people getting their credentials like a toy in a Cracker Jack box. Even worse there are driving schools that are so horrible that it's like the blind teaching the blind. If you're a bad driver you shouldn't be teaching driving...there are many small pop shop schools like that. These guys are professional and teach professionally. Because of them that in my adult hood I have learned to avoid and dodge these idiots not properly trained by Young Drivers. read more
