I took lessons from Rain and Robert - they are both very good instructors. They are both gentle and nice, and taught me really well about how to drive safely. They also clarified my questions I had for flow of traffic , intersection, reference point and road rules. I also like the fact that they are consistent with the car they drive -so even when I was with different instructor, I was able to drive consistently. The administration was also fast and efficient. I can pay the lesson via cheque or email transfer and I can can easily book lessons via text or email.

It's now the end of March 2022 and only received 5/8 of in-car lessons from October 2021 to January 2022. I don't think that is enough practice for a new driver. Website does not provide any information on how to request a refund - Answer: send an email to refunds@yd.com and you must do it within 1 year of course enrollment date. It seems that YD is meant for non-students because the only times that we could book in-car lessons was during a Pro-D or school vacation time. The Burnaby instructor was not available for after school lessons or weekends.

This school took over $12,000 for my Long Haul Class 1 and they can not / will not supply my remaining pre-paid driving hours or a refund !! Since my lesson of October 12/21 and only after threatening to notify both the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and commence legal action for not allowing training of these prepaid hours I've again waited another 7.5 weeks only to receive 2 short lessons THIS IS NOT COMMERCIAL TRUCK TRAINING AT ALL I'm still owed around 60 hours, with them refusing any driving time or refund THIS IS NOT AT ALL WHAT I had PREPAID FOR, OR WAS PROMISED TO RECEIVE AS A STUDENT OF NORTH SHORE DRIVING SCHOOL !! Then doing a break tug, examiner knew it wasn't latched properly, Dangerous move, automatic fail Because of this, I must now take the FULL MELT COURSE with zero hours credited elsewhere North Shore Driving Schools position is that you failed the driving test and we are not currently offering the MELT Program so there is nothing more we can do for you It's my position, they are the reason I failed in the first place by creating among other thing a hostile training environment. Secondly why can't I still train with my pre-paid driving hours or have them refunded ? A further $12,000 later, I've signing up for MELT at a different, much more organized MELT Driving School I will be starting in the New Year Truth be told they have no qualified instructors to work with them to let the crappy one of two go It's my opinion the trucks are both unsafe and in need of serious repair This is on top of all the other things I've mentioned going on at North Shore Driving Schools From what I understand they were again getting evicted from their parking lot and very close to bankruptcy NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY ARE FOR SALE Good luck with that !!
