I thought it would be impossible for me to learn to drive because I didn't have a family member with a vehicle for me to practice with. But RainCity Driving School has lesson packages designed for people without a practice vehicle, including renting their car for your road test. First, I did the 18-hour lesson package with Doel. He was very calm and patient, and took me through a curriculum that brought me from no driving experience and a lot of anxiety to a reasonable level of proficiency and a lot more confidence. I felt like I needed more practice, so I took extra lessons with Edgar. He listened to what I was having trouble with and gave me lots of time to practice skills that were more challenging for me. He also took me through a lot of different roads and intersections to make sure I was prepared for anything I would run into on the road. We did a lot of practice road tests, and they were a lot more thorough and challenging than the real road test ended up being, which made the real test feel quick and easy. On the day of my road test, the 45 minute pre-test was really helpful as a warm-up and a refresher for how to do well on the test. I got my N with a perfect test, and the examiner even complimented my shoulder checks. Roanne was very helpful with scheduling, even when I needed to re-schedule and add extra lessons on short notice. I enjoyed Rain's patients and the learning environment he provided, each lesson it proved efficient for my driving. He was sure to point out any bad habits or actions in a calming, non-judge mental manner. While driving on the road I think this is important, and one of the things I had feared would not happen before starting my lessons. At some point in time it didn't even feel like a lesson anymore, just a drive. I wanted to get back into driving after a long hiatus. I'd had my L before and had driven quite a bit in the past, but never managed to take my N test due to always being late and losing my appointment! That was because my parents were unreliable and always procrastinated and made me miss my own road test twice, because I needed to drive with them in their car to get there and they always left last minute and we were too late every time! After that I gave up on getting my license for a long time. I finally decided to give it another shot this year and this time I decided to enlist the help of a professional and called RainCity driving school. This is an awesome driving school with excellent driving instructors. I had Rain do an assessment session with me, maybe a week or two before my road test as a review on what I could work on and try and perfect for the test. That assessment went well and I felt a lot more confident leading up to the date of my test! A day before my road test I ran into a couple of complications with using my parents' car and was unable to use it and contacted Rain again and he was able to accommodate my needs and pretty much on the spot when I had messaged him and I passed my test with no problem at all and even my examiner said that my driving was excellent and that my test paper was blank as he didn't catch any major mistakes. All in all, I did an hour session with Rain the first time around and then an hour before my test as a warm up and in those two sessions we were able to cover a lot. Rain was friendly, patient, and chill, while being professional at the same time. He made every lesson light and enjoyable. I was always looking forward to each meeting. He helped me prepare well in taking my road test. As a result, I passed my N license with one take. I wasn't confident in my driving skills and was anxious before, but with continued lessons, I got to shake off the worries I had. I just passed my road test today! Roanne has been very patient with all the bookings and answered all my questions prior to my first lesson. My first lesson was with Robert and he was just simply fantastic. He gave me good advice and lots of feedback on what I should practise and improve on for the next lesson. The rest of my lessons were done with Doel. I have to say that Doel is just exceptionally kind. He was able to guide me through the basics of driving and helped me gain more confidence on the road. Rain is the best instructor ever! 2 years ago, I was so eager to get my N. So, my aunt recommended that I should take lessons with Rain as she was also taking lessons with him. I purchased a 12 hour packaged and honestly the price you paid was all worth it! Rain is very friendly, patient and sometimes funny LOL He gives you tips that will definitely help you in the future like parking techniques. He also gives you the power to make your own decisions in the road and will also give you constructive critisism when you make mistakes. After 2 years, I got my Class 5 license! All thanks to Rain again! I took 3 one hour lessons with him -- which were very helpful because if I didn't I would definitely fail my road test. I've been putting off learning to drive for about 20 years; I had a baby last year and need to be able to get around easily and so had to learn, somewhat reluctantly. I had driving lessons with Rain, and they were very informational, but he kept them entertaining at the same time. He showed me exactly what I should expect on my drivers test, and I passed on the first try! He's ready to teach you what you need to know to pass your test, and he does it kindly. Rain definitely helped me build the confidence that I needed for the test. He also talks to you during your ride if you want; he is able to hold a conversation while giving instructions and information at the same time. One thing that I noticed throughout our lessons, was that Raincity Driving school has been incredibly on top of their COVID safety protocols. They were one of the first businesses that I knew of to take all the measures to step up and ensure their workers and clients are safe. I came from South Africa as a permanent resident and had to relinquish my drivers license after 3 months and get a class 5 BC drivers licence.My friends that came before me had done the same and on average obtained their class 5 licence after at least 2 to 3 attempts.Due to the fact that in South Africa we drive on the left and the rules are slightly different, i decided to get lessons with RainCity as they came highly recommended. I passed my class 5 driving test today on the first attempt with Rain City Driving School! Eddie is my instructor who is the best instructor I have ever experienced. I am nervous type who make more mistakes on the road if the instructor keeps pointing out and stressing on the mistake. Eddie realized it straight away when we started and he worked in a way to suite me .. when I made mistake , instead of pointing out immediately of course unless it was dangerous , he would ask talk to me at the end of the session about how to correct it. Eddie not only taught me the rules of the road but also how to keep calm while driving. He knows very well what the examiner looks for during the test too. Very glad and grateful that I took driving lessons with RainCity. I had Doel as my instructor. He is very patient and encouraging. Excellent communicator. He was very thorough with all the lessons I took. Doel also helped my girlfriend pass her road test. She previously took lessons with another school but was not pleased. We moved from the island and wanted our daughter to learn how to drive in the city from an expert. We are so pleased we chose Rain City Driving School! Doel was wonderful in prepping me before my road test by ensuring I knew the rules of the road, and gave me awesome tips on how to parallel park and reverse stall park. I appreciated how calm and kind he was in his feedback. When I didn't understand something he didn't make me feel incompetent instead he found another way to teach. For example, pulling out a whiteboard and marker, and drawing to show how to adjust when I parallel parked. He helped with my shoulder checks, preventing rolling stops, and the rules with school zones and everything you need to pass your class 5.
