I have always…read morebeen a bit afraid of driving since I was 16, because I am relatively small by height and my visions are often blocked compared to average drivers. I have previously tried driving lessons with 2 other instructors, and while I had good experience, I could not understand how to drive (like finding reference point to centre my cars, understanding direction of my car, how to overcome my blindspots due to my height, understanding the car mechanics, anticipating situations to be a defensive driver, and growing the confidence behind the wheels). Being introduced to Ellen by chance was the best thing that happened! First thing first, Ellen and I get along. Ellen has a friendly demeanor to make students feel comfortable and welcomed, allowing students to open up about their concerns. Ellen is very patient and encouraging. She took the time to understand what I needed and where my weak spots are to target and mitigate in the driving process. She has her ways of helping students to understand driving, put the right checks in place to follow all the rules and be a safe driver, as well as drilling into students' mind various scenarios which could happen during driving allowing the students to become a more defensive driver. In essence, she is transferring her years of driving experience and knowledge to her students in every single lesson. She also puts in a lot of efforts to each and everyone of her students. In the process, students can feel that she really cares for you. I have now officially passed my road test and I am so excited! Thanks so much to Ellen! I would like to have a special thanks to my instructor Azar who was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful during the lessons for my class 7 and class 5. Azar also was super nice and her knowledge direct me in the way to learn the right and safe way of driving. she show me all the roads that my examiner took me today. Although,that was not my comfort zone since I have practice and read a lot too. Azar instruction and feedback were very useful. Azar was very nice to come to port coquitlam in the Sunday's early morning ( even though she was recovering) just because wanted to help me for class 5. Thank you Azar and I promise I wont pass the yellow light if not passing the front solid white line in the intersection. I recommend her, not all the instructors are nice. *** WORST CLASS 1 DRIVING SCHOOL EVER *** for me This…read moreschool took over $12,000 for my Long Haul Class 1 and can not supply any driving hours Since October 12/21 I've only received 3 lessons I'm still owed around 60 hours, with them refusing any driving time or refund Both instructors hate each other, bickering constantly creating a lot of anxiety for students The only person that knows anything in that company is the driving instructor Jeremy He's great but unfortunately you don't get to stay with him Judy the owner answers the phone putting on a good front, but really just doesn't care once you pay It seems to be a regular thing to have upset students, failing their road test or just walking off screaming from their lessons in the parking lot Not only is the management neglectful and unwilling to resolve or accommodate any student issues but they just don't seem to care at all Truth be told they have no qualified instructors to work with them to let the crappy one of two go In my opinion the trucks are unsafe and in need of serious repair They were again getting evicted from their parking lot and from what I understand close to bankruptcy Needless to say they are for sale I would NOT recommend this company at all !!! North Vancouver - School will take your money, and all the extras you pay for manual transmission…read moreand road test prep but will not meet minimum standards of customer service. School had inadequate manual transmission instructors resulting in lesson-planning challenges. This can result in the 365 day rule of course completion in order to test early for the road test. There will be confusing certification mailed out but will not be worth the paper the certificate is printed on as ICBC will not recognize it. Be careful, do your homework, do not expect anything more than a cash-grab mediocre business that has drastically gone downhill over the years. Contact was made to clarify an issue with Young Drivers dropping the ball but the concerns were met with "canned" responses. Proof of due-diligence was requested but could not be furnished by Young Drivers. Expect to work with ICBC in order to be recognized by this school via appeals. Correspondence and support is close to non-existent throughout sessions. Get everything in writing. Do not rely on phone conversations with this company, or better yet, save your money and frustration. Find a reputable school that will actually do more than cash your cheques.
