This camp was worth every penny! My daughter stayed the full three weeks last summer as a going-on-13-year old and loved it so much she has asked to return. She met friends from all over the WORLD, expanded her acting experience and created a phenomenal resume and reel. I would highly recommend it to any pre-teen or teenager interested in starting their acting career. We found many students were on their 2nd/3rd time attending the camp even. For me as a parent, I dragged my feet, but finally chose to attend the parent camp at the last minute. I am so glad I did! It was incredibly informative and got down to the nuts and bolts of the industry from a parent's perspective. I learned so much from meeting and talking with the other parents in attendance as well. My daughter is now moving to LA this June to attend acting workshops and audition as she was just signed by an agent and manager. We are from Iowa and this is incredibly exciting! What a great choice we made for my child's first overnight camp experience. The website was easy to navigate and informative, which is key when you are sending your daughter out of state to attend camp. Last year, she attended the acting camp and the pre-professional program. She enjoyed the activities and the classes and felt so much more prepared for what the industry is looking for. By the end of the two weeks, she was begging to stay for the movie camp. She was able to transfer what she learned to take advantage of local opportunities and even apply these skills to become more interactive in school. That's why we are returning this summer, to build on the skills she developed last year and attend the Casting Call camp. While she learned quite a bit from a skills base and industry knowledge perspective, most of all she had fun and made some good friends from all over the world. read more

my daughter will be leaving next week for her 4th year at YAC. The first year she did the 10 day Glee Experience, but since that first dip-the-toe-in-the-water stay, she has enrolled for the entire 4 - 5 weeks. She loves it and has made friends from all over the country and the world. I love it because she is safe and having fun and learning about a field she wants to pursue. I anticipate she will attend next year as well -- she has a part time job and is forking over all her earning to a YAC fund! Next year, as a rising junior in high school, she will also be able to earn college credit. Will kids become big Hollywood stars by attending YAC?? Probably not, but they will become more confident and self reliant people and I suspect will have an easier transition to college than most kid. read more

My daughter (14) is very interested in acting and I wanted her to get the feel of it at a camp in USA. We've found YAC on the internet and the camp was more than what we've expected! She was there for three weeks and came back happy, with lots of knowledge and experience about acting business and at the same time she had a lot of fun. She has met young actors, telling all about how to build a carrier, she has learned how to write a CV, how to prepare for an interview etc. They had acting classes, speech classes, combat, modeling and many other interesting things. They were taken around Los Angeles, went to the Catalina Island etc. The organizer, Nichelle, was there all the time to make sure that it was working smoothly. My son went to YAC last year for the first time and absolutely LOVED it! His experience was nothing short of exceptional. He had an opportunity to perform for major LA agents and Casting Directors and was able to gain real world experience in front of the camera. I was not only impressed with the program itself but with the time, care and attention extended to us beyond camp itself. The people who run this camp really care about the kids and their dreams. I have continued to remain in contact with staff throughout this year who have always been helpful and gracious to give great advice for my son's career. Young Actors Camp is a wonderful camp. My daughter attended for two years and states it's the best experience she's ever had. Although she can't attend this year because of other obligations, she'll be back next year. The owner of the camp, Nichelle, knows the business, inside and out, and will make sure each and every camper gets the knowledge and experience possible. From the staff, the food, the planned activities to the classes my daughter didn't have a bad thing to say. This is a top notch camp! My daughter travelled across the country to attend the camp knowing no one and never having been there. The staff were AMAZING at welcoming her and getting her right into acting activities and feeling part of "the community" they have created. She learned more there in one week, than in an entire semester of acting classes at home. She made lifelong friends from around the world and is looking forward to going back again soon! I'm the mum not the student. Also a drama teacher! So can look at it from both viewpoints. However if you want a comment from me I am happy to tell you that Anne came back home absolutely thrilled. She arrived from the UK having travelled on her own. She had a wonderful experience and the impact of it over the year has been evident. She always wanted to perform and her career path has been in that direction. YAC confirmed this even more for her and gave her a completely different perspective. She had done a lot of acting but not much film or camera work. She learnt so much and made some excellent friends. She is now considering studying in America in the future. read more

I love this place! I went to the 4 week program and loved it! Like other summer camps, you build awesome friendships but this camp has he added bonus of allowing me to peruse my passion. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and supportive! It is a wonderful taste of Hollywood for young actors! It teaches young actors about the industry while remaining a really fun time! I would especially recommended it to kids who are out of state. Hollywood is really unlike any other place so to learn how it works, its beneficial to actually be here. THE BEST! My daughter attended YAC for 2 years in a row and some of her friends attended also. They are returning for more this summer! They all spoke highly of the staff and instructors and could not stop talking about how much they learned and how much fun they had. I would recommend this camp to any child interested in pursuing acting because they are top-notch. Their knowledge of the industry is incomparable, as well as the Hollywood professionals and actors who appear at camp to help the children and parents understand the process of breaking into the industry. I been hearing a lot of things about this camp. But for today was amazing experience ever. The main purpose of this camp is to educate and inspire campers and that was definitely done. Watching campers taking acting classes it proves to myself that this is the big step for Hollywood dreams on big screen. All three of my children have repeated this camp experience for 2 consecutive years and will be there for a 3rd this year. The camp has afforded my husband and I the opportunity to truly appreciate the acting and musical talents of our children. There's just no words to describe all the care and professionalism provided by the staff. Each and every year my children look forward to meeting Disney stars as well as the field trips all over Los Angeles and Hollywood. They even receive acting lessons with the stars. My child had an amazing experience at this camp. He is 11 and it was his 1st overnight experience. I was really worried he wouldn't stay as we live in Texas. Not only did he stay, he signed up for 2 weeks in 2011 before we even left. All the staff were incredible and he met people from all over the world. He still is in contact with many of them. The kids went to movie sets, worked with professional animals, green screens and just had a great time. The director of the camp has continued to keep in touch with us throughout the year. this camp is sooo awesome. I've gone 5 years straight. if your a returner you get extra things like breakfast with celebrities! one of my faveorite memories there was the field trip to an actual hollywood set! and it was on one of my faveroite shows! the stuff we learn is great! we have so many classes that help bulid our resmues. and the classes arent boring lectures.. we actually get to interact. best camp ever! My son attended the camp in the summer 2010 and also the pilot season program. My son auditioned for two pilots , a major motion picture and several commercials during his stay. still waiting for casting on some. He has averaged two auditions a week. The over all experience has been great , he has also attended some really fun classes during the stay. He can't wait till this summer to reunite with his friends. Nothing short of phenomenal. My son has attended this camp, and I worked there as the nurse last year. The opportunities are endless. The staff is extremely skilled(actors), polite, and professional.
