UPDATE: After my experience, I looked through other recent Yelp reviews and was surprised to see…read moremultiple customers describing very similar issues with the front-of-house service. Recent reviewers have described the service as rude, unhelpful, and accompanied by a poor attitude. One reviewer described the service as "awful, horrible, rude service," while another said the woman at the front had a "terrible attitude." Another recent reviewer described the host as rude after being told to wait outside in the rain and wind, and another specifically mentioned that the hostess was not helpful when they had questions. Unfortunately, this makes my experience seem much less like an isolated incident and more like a recurring customer-service problem. My own experience involved someone at the front who was unnecessarily difficult, unwilling to help with basic questions or alternatives, and ultimately refused service when I asked to speak with management. What is even more concerning is that I subsequently tried multiple times to reach management about what happened and did not receive a return call. When several recent customers are independently describing similar experiences with front-of-house staff, I would expect management or ownership to take those complaints seriously. Based on my experience and the pattern reflected in other recent reviews, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that values its customers and treats them with basic courtesy and respect.

I had to come back and try their kaisendon, and it did not disappoint!…read more I honestly don't know how they keep their fish so fresh especially in this hot weather. What I loved most was the perfect balance between the fish and rice. At other places, I always end up with way too much rice left because there isn't enough fish but the ratio here was just perfect. I finished the whole bowl without leaving a single bite! The fish was so fresh and had the perfect texture. It was seriously delicious and honestly something I could eat every day..

There were so many things on the menu that looked good, so we asked our server, Terry, for recommendations. Everything we ordered was seriously high quality. My girlfriend loved the food so much that I'm pretty sure we'll be coming back often! The service was super friendly and the restaurant itself was clean, neat, and had a really nice atmosphere. Overall, we had such a great dining experience!

Staff was nice, not super attentive. Wondering why they named this place Izakaya if all they really sell are generic rolls and teriyaki... anyway back to the rating. We ordered several rolls, sashimi, and couple apps. The Edamame was weird. While traditionally steamed and tossed, or fried and tossed with garlic n chilies, these were.... Wet? Like swimming in some type of sauce. Sauce was tasty, but it was so weird to look at. Rolls were very underwhelming. Nothing popped, nothing hit you making you come back for another bite. Family did not enjoy it, would rather return to Kyoto across the street or Jin down the street. Just saying.

Jalapeno bombs and monkey brains appetizer is a MUST. I order this every time. Miso soup and udon were great soup/noodles starters. I always get the Maui roll. We tried the maniac for the first time and it was great! Will order again. Service was excellent as usual. Fast service and very friendly. When we first got in they sat us at a two top and right away I need that table would be quite small for what I was planning to order, so we asked for a bigger table and they were kind enough to accommodate us. Ordering was quick as we new exactly what we wanted. We went with the all beef combo yakiniku. The guys were very organized and really worked well with each other. They immediately brought out our sides and dipping sauces and got the grill started for the coals to preheat. I knew that other table would be small as the charcoal grill took up the other half of a four top. I was surprised that they started cooking the meats for us, as I was prepared to do it myself. The experience was fantastic and the meats were very tasty. I really loved that the guys like tag team to check and cook the meats for us. The service was very smooth. Can't wait to take my wife next time for a nice dinner date for two.

One of the guys who I think is the owner was very nice and energetic talking to all the tables. He's probably one of the reasons why we will be coming back again! And to try the Gyu Katsu!

I ordered the two-protein plate with chicken and shrimp, plus veggies ($29). It comes with a side salad and your choice of white rice or fried rice. They also have a variety of sauces to choose from. The chicken and shrimp were really good. Well seasoned and flavorful. The soy sauce (I'm assuming) was a bit too salty for my taste, but overall I enjoyed my meal. They do offer lunch specials, and I'll definitely be back to try those. The restaurant is well maintained, with a clean dining area and bathroom.

So be patient if you are ordering and they're not at the counter. Staff in server lady was friendly and very helpful since it was our first time there and ordering. Between the two of us we ordered the combo plate that had the chicken, beef, shrimp with vegetables and then we upgraded and paid extra for fried rice. The fried rice was tasty, but very oily! The combo plate, shrimp, and meat were cooked well and tender. The chicken was so dry -- it was difficult to eat... . There is plenty of food for the two of us. It did come with soup or salad and we chose soup, but the soup was too salty! I liked the sauces that they give you and the bitter garlic is amazing! This is a good upgrade to a fast food joint and definitely would come back if hungry but I won't order the chicken again not the extra extra salty soup. The parking lot is shared with all the other establishments in the area. There's one restroom in the restaurant and it's pretty clean and doesn't smell -- thank goodness!!
