I'm agree with Cindy C comments! Restaurants and store prices are ok, but if you want a save money, bring your own food, beverage and snacks, price on hotel's store are ok. Be prepared no cell signal and no wifi, but you can pay for wifi service 10 dlls per 24hrs for two devices, if you pay on your device you don't have the 48 hrs option, only if you buy it with cash inside the lobby. read more

Very quite, tradition, cozy hotel. It's not too far from the parks, and the riverside rooms are so peaceful. Since check-in isn't until 3pm, we decided to head straight to the parks. By the time we got to the hotel, we got a chicken cordon bieu to go; it was very delicious! The dough/crust was a little crispy and fluffy. Got in our room, unwinded and slept like a baby with the sound of the water in the background. Checking in/out was easy, finding parking was crazier, but overall was just right! read more

Just recently had the pleasure of staying at The Yosemite View Lodge on MLK weekend. It was a great experience. My girlfriend and I stayed in the "King" room which is their more pricey option, but it was well worth the price. The hotel itself is pretty large, and it's spread over a large area, so finding the lobby after nightfall was a little daunting. Seems I was worried for no reason because the lobby is centrally located and very well lit. Parking was never an issue either even though the hotel seemed to be fairly busy and bustling with vacationers. We were able to find a spot near enough to our room. The staff (the only staff we encountered were those at the lobby and restaurant) was pleasant and helpful. Our check in went quick and easy, and we were on our way to our room within 5 minutes. The King room was fairly large. Of course, the bed was a king. It was a little too springy for my taste but I've definitely slept on worse. Bed firmness is all up to personal preference I can't fault them on that. The room also had two arm chairs near the sliding door that led to the patio. No desk though. We had a spa tub in our room but we opted not to use it because the girlfriend was sick so I know not if it was functioning. I assumed it was. There was a fireplace above the spa tub but that definitely not working, as we tried multiple times to get it going to no avail. Sad... Basic TV cable and HBO situation going on. TV was a little on the small side of the scale. Bathroom was very nice and fairly large, but COLD (note: it was January). The heater worked fabulously on the main space of the room though and I actually had to turn it off a few times. Big kudos there! But the absolute best part of our room was the patio and it's view. The Merced river runs the length of the hotel and the rooms are 30 feet away. I don't know if it's the same during the summer, but during our stay the river was RAGING. The sound alone was breath taking. As soon as we saw that view we both decided we would undoubtedly be back again. The hotel also has a convenience store/gift shop and restaurant/bar. The store has everything you would find in any other small general store, including booze . There is also a large souvenir area for the family back home. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant, but we did go to the bar to order a pizza to-go. The process of ordering out of the bar was a bit frustrating because of the amount of tourists trying to do the same thing. It seemed a little disorganized. The pizza however, was great! I would 100% suggest this place to anyone looking to stay at a beautiful location for a fair price. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they charge you 10 dollars a day WiFi for only 2 devices. nowadays free WiFi at a hotel is a gimme. still, I can't wait to find another excuse to book a stay here. My husband and I just stayed at Yosemite View Lodge for Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend for our anniversary. Location: Prime location to get into Yosemite valley using public transportation, YART bus. $14 per couple round trip and no hassel of driving in the weekend traffic. Driving into the park on a weekend from 140 looked very daunting. Room/Price: Good: We stayed in the honeymoon suit - king sized bed, hot tub, and large double head shower. Price with taxes and all from hotel.com was $700 for 2 nights. Bad: I am a stikler for using fitted sheets instead of flat sheets on matresses - here they use flat. View: Our room faced the Merced river which was roaring this season. We love the sound of water flowing but for some facing the river might be too loud. Food: We mostly ate at the park since we wanted to get in early. There is a mini grocery store in the lobby area if you want to grab a quick breakfast. The pizza place was decent. The buffet breakfast was a let down for being $18/person. read more

Will definitely recommend at be back here whenever I pay a visit to Yosemite! I enjoyed and was very comfortable with my stay. Room had a cute kitchenette along with pots, pans, utensils, drinking glasses, utensils. More than I expected! Nice fridge too and freezer especially since we brought our own food. I don't recommend buying at park and in the little store because yeah, it's pricey but it's a tourist location too so I get it and expected it soooo bring your food if you don't want to pay lol. The bed was comfy and they changed the sheets and pillow cases everyday. We had a little test and we made sure of it. The bath tub jacuzzi and shower was HUGE. It was meant for two. Not a lot of Channels to watch but that was ok, since we brought board games and laptop to watch movies. You do have to pay for WiFi, and when we used it there was no lag but I also think it's because it was not as busy the time I went , end of March . So many pools and jacuzzis available! If one is full you can just move to the next to one not so crowded. Very close to park with a beautiful patio river view. If ya'll hate noise and can't sleep cuz the water too loud, then river view isn't for you but I loved it . We had a non smoking room and no residue of any smoking or past guests. read more

This was a nice place to stay at. Take food to cook drinks and snacks for your stay. They have plates, pots and glasses. A small fridge. I took my own sponge to wash dishes with. We loved that it was close to the park. Overall a nice place to stay. Don't expect spas to be open in winter months. Staff was not the friendliest but I just cared about out stay. read more

This was one of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. It smelled bad, the carpet was gross and stained. It looked so sketch, I checked for bed bugs. The bed frame was filthy, and everything looked as if it had not been dusted in years. The beautiful view of the Merced river could not make up for the gross room. Don't book this hotel. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review like this, but this hotel stay was literally the worst room I have ever stayed in. We got a Groupon for 2 nights stay. We booked three rooms for our extended family to celebrate a late Christmas. We were so excited and had a great time in Yosemite, but the hotel was not a good experience. 1. First our room smelled like smoke. Their answer was to hand me a can of spray. I guess it was my job to take care of ridding our room of the smell. 2. The wall paper was peeling in our bathroom and there was mold on the wall under the peeled paper. 3. The curtains were dirty and out son's bedspread smelled BAD. 4. Next door in our adult daughter's room there was musty smell. After about an hour of airing it out, we saw a note on the closet door stating there was a leak in her closet. The ceiling in her closet had a large hole and there was a bucket collecting the water dripping. The note did tell her she could move, but by the time we saw it, it was late and we were leaving the next morning. She liked having our attached rooms, so she stayed there. Then in the middle of the night she heard dripping in the bathroom. The ceiling began to leak water in a couple other spots in the bathroom. She grabbed bowls from the kitchenette to catch the water. 5. Other more minor issues, but still... the wine glasses were sticky, we found a toothpaste lid in our sink drain, the promised spa baskets from the Groupon were not available (they did give us the adventure backpack instead), and the fireplace worked sometimes and not other times. On a positive note, the restaurant did a good job accommodating our group and were very kind and pleasant. Out of courtesy to the company, I wrote a report for the manager when we left. It has been several weeks and we have never received a call, email, or any other type of communication. DO NOT STAY HERE!! read more

We had booked our stay 8 months ago. And then Covid hit, And changed our plans. We decided to still go and see the area outside Yosemite anyways for a couple days. At check in. We ask about the restaurant which on the hotels web site , and on the door of the restaurant itself, stated that due to covid, it was Only open for take out. Which was fine. BUT the hotel clerk said NO. There is nothing for food except 40 miles away in Mariposa! We should have been informed of this, when i called hotel to check on if they were open, and that we were still going to give them our business during COVID! The room was nice , if you stay by the river. We had a 2 room suite, but one of the showers. Didn't have a shower head that worked. So had to share one bathroom. They left a dirty sponge at the kitchen sink From previous occupants ! Women working at the Front desk spoke very little English, so unable to communicate. Didn't want to get off their chair to help us. Nobody seemed to care that we still came and spent money, at a time when people were cancelling. We would definitely not recommend. Very dated accommodation. The rooms are stuffy and smelled of very old smoke although it was a smoke free room. The only thing to it's advantage is that it is right outside the park. Great for the photographer like us who want to get up for those sunrise shots in the valley. The food is OK but pricey. Eat in the park if you can at Yosemite Lodge. HORRIBLE!!! I recently stayed in the majestic suite. Upon entering the room, we noticed a foul smell. I thought well carpet could've gotten wet from the jacuzzi. My family and I went out for a walk by the river picked up a pizza for dinner and returned to the room. My husband could not stop think of the smell. So he opened a cabinet in the kitchenette and found two large bags of garbage stuffed inside. The smell became worse and after further inspecting the room I found mouse dropping's everywhere!!! I called twice for service and had to go down to the office to speak to the manager. She apologized and offered a room that could not accommodate us. A nice man came up to clean the room. But it was so uncomfortable knowing mice had been running all over the place! All we got was a sorry. They could've done more. read more

We really liked our stay because it was special to have a room 50 feet from the Merced River!! Beautiful!! The room had a fully stocked kitchenette and a big jetted tub. Four stars because the room is a little older (pink tiles in the bathroom) but everything was clean and the staff is awesome. And that river...ahhh. I loved sitting on our porch just watching the water..and the raccoon friend that waddled past late at night. The grandkids loved that!! There is a wonderful grocery/gift shop. We didn't go to the restaurant or pizza parlor onsite. The Lodge is very close to the entrance to Yosemite so we will be back next year and will stay longer next time. read more

For the first time My husband and I visited Yosemite and we stayed at the lodge. We had a room on the river it was great, loved sleeping with the sliding door open listening to the river flow. The staff is very friendly. There was only one real problem and that was the hot tubs were not working. But over all we loved our stay and will return again some day. read more

I give the location of this hotel a 5. If you want to be a close to Yosemite without staying in the park this is your best bet. We booked a room with a river view , which was nice but our patio had pistachio shells from the previous party. The room itself was very dirty. There was dust on the bed frame. The carpet and chairs were stained. The bathroom smelled of mildew. For the amount of money spent the hotel should be nicer. It is an outdated hotel that should at least make an effort to be clean. read more

Every outdoor spa was padlocked shut, although this was not mentioned to us at check in. We relocated to the indoor spa/hot tub, where the chlorine and other chemicals were so strong that my entire group of girl friends had to get up and leave due to our eyes & noses burning badly. I have never been in a spa area that caused me to experience such a terrible reaction (as well as my 6 friends). The room was average, leaky shower. The offseason rates are much better than the summer rates. The view of the river is nice if you can manage to see above the high railing of the floor level rooms. read more

My husband and I stayed 1 night. Our first room was pretty bad. It was behind a leaking ice maker, the water was covering the whole walkway, and it warped the front door, so it was difficult to even get in or out of our room. The room was very spacious, but very outdated. It was a "mountain view" which was a view of the parking lot and road. We were able to upgrade to a "river view" room, with a balcony, for only $20 (well worth it!). Our second room was much better, but still seriously lacking. It had a huge spa tub (which didn't work) with two shower heads (one of which didn't work), a fireplace (that would shutoff after about 8-10 minutes, or whenever a door was opened and closed, but then come back on about 5 minutes later). The heater made a really scary popping noise when it turned on (I was a little nervous that it was going to catch on fire!). The view from our balcony was spectacular, and the sound of the river was tremendous, which made up for some of the other shortcomings. The hotel staff was very nice, and helpful. The restaurant was super overpriced and not very good, but the adjoining pizza place was not open on a wednesday, so we had no choice but to eat there. They opened at 5:30pm and were packed by 5:45 (so go early!). The hotel had a fairly large store with some food, beverages, wine, liquor, and souvenirs. We didn't visit the indoor pool, but the outdoor ones and spas were open. Most of them looked clean, but we didn't go in. There is WiFi available for purchase. Cell service is non existent until you go into yosemite Valley or out to Mariposa. Overall, for being pretty much the only option, it was better than we expected, but wasn't nice by any means. read more

I've stayed in this hotel every November for the last 7 years. The hotel is starting to go down hill. I won't get started about the front desk staff who very clearly could care less about their guests. Most recently I was there with family and friends - we had 3 different types of rooms (2 mountain views and 1 river view). My room (basic, 2 queen bed, 1 bathroom) clearly had the bathroom renovated, except the toilet would run for 15 min after every flush (closing the door would block the sound) and the toilet paper holder was about to fall off. The mattresses were Horrible and low to the ground. Our 2nd room had a "front room" - so beds in a back room, with couch and table/seating area in the front. This room was 3 doors down from our room - bathroom had not been updated (but everything worked, minus 1 light bulb that was out). Tables and chairs clearly had been updated but there were 3 different styles amongst the 2 rooms. This room only came with 1 trashcan (we called and they brought a 2nd one very quickly). The 3 room had a broken stove burner. Cleaning - beds were made (although I'm pretty sure the sheets were not changed daily) and trash was taken out. The floor was not vacuumed and things like sugar packets were not refilled. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the hotel and the staff and will be looking at other hotels for next year. read more

They are renovating the lobby but really should be concerned with the lack hygiene and ant infestation in the rooms. All facilities are outdated and some even rusty. I give it three stars because of the location. The Merced river runs through the back of the hotel, which gives you beautiful patio view. They do have a large gift shop which get you out of emergency shopping and a convenience store which you will need in Yosemite. It's the closest hotel to the Yosemite entrance, about five to ten minutes away. However, rooms are mediocre and run down. Staff is not too friendly, and you have to pay for internet access. We had a jacuzzi tub in our room but it had a wad of hair, which was disgusting and scared my daughter. They do have a nice fireplace in the room and a convenient kitchenette. Hotel does not serve breakfast so you either have to cook your own food or eat at their restaurant, which was the worst and expensive. If you are going to come, be prepared to make your own food. Since there aren't very many choices for hotels, sadly this one would be your best bet. read more

This used to be my go to place for value lodging near the valley in winter and then they decided to start offering groupon deals and stopped the deals they offered to CA residents. Dumb management as groupon take away 75% of your revenue vs 25% for a 4 for 3 deal for CA residents....yes I could use groupon but they are predators, taking half the revenue of a half price menu, which simply hurts the business. read more

We used a Groupon for this stay and it was very nice. The room was adequate with a little kitchen area and a balcony, had a beautiful view of the river and there was an indoor swimming pool and hot tub. We received a nice little free spa package and the room tub was also a spa, super big - which was super duper relaxing. Also, it's only about a mile or so from the entrance to Yosemite, so the location was great. The bad points...eating at the restaurant was incredibly expensive. You know those little jam packets, for toast, that are free everywhere on the planet? They charge $1 each for the strawberry ones and call it "strawberry topping" for pancakes. Ridiculous. For a party of four, breakfast was $60 and dinner was $80. Breakfast was burnt bacon...if you're going to charge that much, at least have good food and it wasn't good. Chicken for dinner was $21. And it was just chicken and veggies, nothing to write home about for sure. They aren't open during lunch. To go to the nearest town, Mariposa, is about an hour of driving one way through the mountains. So you're basically stuck with the limited options available. The pool area was pretty dirty. And Wi-Fi costs $10 per 24 hours, per device and didn't worth work a darn...total waste of money. Also, they put a hold of $20 per day on your credit card, which just annoyed me...still waiting to get that hold removed. They were already paid in advance, not sure what the $20 was supposed to be for...and then they charged $17 in taxes after the fact, plus the hold. So that's just bad accounting in my opinion. Normally, a business takes the card # to charge for incidentals if necessary - the hold is just an inconvenience for the customer really. But overall, we did have a very nice time and the employees were friendly and good at their jobs. Based on everything as a whole, and the fact that we did have an enjoyable experience - I'm giving it 4 stars. :) read more
