There are several hotels to choose from in Modesto but I chose this one because reviews and their website shows Tesla wall chargers. Even better it's supposed to be complimentary! When I arrived at the hotel I found no Tesla charger but a much slower charge point charger. Oh well at least it's complimentary. NOPE! Even after verifying with the manager of the hotel I was still charged for charging my car. So I went to the front desk the next morning and the front desk person said it was complimentary. She had to look up the info on her computer then said oh we charge per hour. I asked for a refund or discount since I was given wrong information by several employees and book this hotel specifically for the charging benefits. They said they would not refund my charging fee and would not discount my room. She said she will give me points for my trouble. I don't use points but it is what it is. Now for the room. The floor looks brown and not something I want to walk on barefoot. The room/ hotel is definitely dated but works. The bed is comfortable and sheets look clean. The complimentary breakfast was great. Overall the hotel is good and fits its purpose. I would had chosen a different hotel if I had known about the charging issues.

The staff here is friendly and location is great. I like that there's a small fridge with small water bottles available. Also there's complimentary breakfast and coffee available through out the day. Housekeeping needs to STOP SPRAYING THE AWFUL Crap in the rooms. It is absolute overkill and you cant breathe. It has to be toxic! Are they trying to hide the pet smell or something? The sheer curtain in my room was ripped. Totally ghetto and Motel 6 vibe. The fitness center is tiny and cramped. Two treadmills right next to each other, a.biking machine and weights. I was in there with two huge sweating men. It was gross and needs better ventilation.

I usually have a very reliable experience at any Marriott location. This particular location appeared to be somewhat older. There was nothing really bad about this place, but I did feel it was not quite up to the typical Marriott standards. The place is clean and generally well taken care of. I did notice a hole in the fabric in the sofa in my room, but admittedly that is a small issue. Breakfast is included, It was ok, but again I thought the items available were somewhat weak compared to other locations.

Ventured to the bustling AG town of Modesto for my daughter's graduation. We chose this hotel due to its proximity and the pull out couch that resides with two queen beds. The hotel is very accommodating and warm with the staff very friendly and helpful. It's a quiet hotel well kept and clean. The breakfast had many choices and the staff was very present in making sure your needs were met. The only issue I had with the hotel, the restaurant last night and every stop we made (we brought kids) that the bathrooms were atrocious and this one with no toilet paper. I have to say that I've stayed in hotels around the world and Sequoia, who manned the front desk, was the best. She had patience, humor and professionalism.

Note the security bolt on the left only has one screw.

This is our second stay here in six weeks. It's one of three hotels on the same side of the street with another across the street. In the sense that we slept, bathed and had breakfast, the stay was successful. And while this is not a Marriott with the corresponding Marriott pricing, they could easily do much better without substantial investment. Last night, upon returning from dinner, there was a young man leaning at the check-in counter, no one behind the desk. He was doing something on his phone and did not look up or acknowledge us as we entered and walked past him. As we waited for the elevator, he stepped up with a stack of towels. We don't know if he was going to deliver the towels or take them to his own room. He thanked us when we held the elevator doors open for him. What concerns us is the apparent lack of staffing. Yes, I'm well aware of the COVID pandemic and the difficulty in hiring. At the same time I'm also aware that keeping your property safe for guests means also maintaining a visual presence. Breakfast this morning was busy and there was a constant flow of guests. For the most part, everything was kept clean and wiped down. The quality of the offerings was not as good as last time. The issue that stood out the most were that the turkey sausages and scrambled eggs weren't hot. Eggs were warm and sausages were room temperature. Additionally, the sausages looked like they may have suffered freezer burn and had been reheated from another day. They were dried out and I couldn't poke my plastic fork through one of them. The rooms have automatic deadbolts. They're supposed to engage when you shut the door. The one in this room did not work. It had the same problem that we experienced on our last visit. The doors are heavy and over time are sagging slightly in their frames. This causes the deadbolt to not align with the strike plate, effectively rendering the deadbolt useless. The simple fix would be to enlarge the strike plate receiver with a grinder. We realized upon getting ready to leave our room that the inside security latch on our door was being held in place by one out of three screws. The other two were missing. See picture. This hotel is still much better than the one at the other end and we have yet to try the one in the middle. Will we stay here again? We'll have to think on that.

needs major upgrade. I'm disappointed that the housekeeping and upkeep of the rooms has gone down hill. I'm a Marriot rewards member and I often travel to Modesto. I tend to stay at this location because it's convenient and I earn points. at first I just made due with the run down rooms but my most recent stays have been so uncomfortable. my 2 main concerns are the filthy carpets throughout the hotel and including the rooms. and second are the filthy, stained and ripped sectional. I worked not dare sit on them!!! this is definitely not worth mariott prices.

Love the color and size of this sectional. Can sleep 3-4 if you are small.

4.5 stars I really liked this establishment. I have been to quite a few hotels, and especially Marriotts. I can see the Marriott touch here. The pops of color. The brightness. I liked that a lot. Less vanilla and more boom was a much needed for my much excitement needing eyes. It looked just recently renovated. Upon entry my eye caught magenta colored bar stools. And then aquamarine dining chairs. Bamboo was near a corner. And a serve-yourself complimentary coffee/tea/water bar was situated near the elevator. Too bad I just didn't feel like snapping pix of everything at this point. It was already cute everywhere! At the elevator I remember seeing this black hutch I wanted in my home. Atop it was a terrarium filled with a succulent and surrounding were these pieces of driftwood. I am already quite loving it here and we haven't even made it inside the room. Whenever I get near the door thing at a hotel room I feel like I'm on that show where Ty Pennington is and he does a "Big Reveal". I open the door and I'm excited to see what kind of home we will enjoy for even just a night. Opening it up you see the teal green sectional pull out couch on the right. A lil mirror are in front of it and to the left is the fridge and coffee area. This is like a separate section alone away from the 2 queens. YES! Already a plus. Walking further are 2 big queen beds. Peeking in the closet and its huge! You can fit a baby's bed in there! The bathroom is clean, tile has no black or brown mold on the caulking (always a plus) and I even went barefoot while I showered! That's how much I trusted the cleanliness. But seriously, there was tons of room. You can easily have at least 3 skinny to medium boned people stay on the pull out sectional/chaise. And another 4 medium-big boned people on the 2 queen beds. Someone can even sleep on the floor nearest to the window. And if you REALLY wanted, a baby or child can sleep in the closet. Not that all these bodies is recommended. I'm jus sayyin'. For breakfast for freezy they have lots of carby goodies. The usual like cereal, waffles, oatmeal. Coconut topping was a nice tropical touch. They also had scrambled egg, turkey sausage, raw spinach and salsa which is what I feasted on. Juices, milk and coffee plus flavor were available too. For other meals, I recommend eating at Thailand for Thai food (get the panang and tom yum add coconut milk) and if you wanna splurge, eat at Raw Sushi Bistro (before 6pm and dont bring kids) and get the Darkhorse roll. Sit in the side room, not the main room. Or see my reviews on this for more deets. YES I would stay here again. Your welcome.

What is a hotel chain doing having TVs that don't work? This is not okay. I won't be returning to this location.

Ok spot for stop on long drive. Clean linens. Small breakfast selection. We have two queen beds separated from a little sitting area with a desk

Lovely food crumbles all over the couch after a 20 minute wait to check in.

You save $1 by having it as part of your hotel stay. There's a sky bridge on the 3rd floor which helps you avoid the street, which is quite busy during daylight and without any cars at night. I've stayed here twice. The rooms are comfortable and the furniture is in good condition. There's lots of water pressure and the bathrooms are clean. Unfortunately, I had problems with my room's AC on both stays. The first time I was on the hot side of the building and thought it might have been that but it did not get better once the sun went down. Maintenance came, checked the temp and acknowledged the warmth, said they could not do anything and left. On my second stay, the guy thought it might be the curtains blocking the airflow so he moved them and left. It never cooled down. I called downstairs, they brought me a key to another room, and I packed up and moved myself to another room. The next room was definitely an improvement but still not as cool as I like. A bit of a hassle but luckily I wasn't in a rush. Kudos to the front desk for accommodating me in such a drama free way. Serious Security Breach and a Staff That Doesn't Understand Guest Safety…read more My experience at the Residence Inn Modesto was nothing short of alarming. I had a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed on my door, yet the hotel staff entered my room anyway. This isn't a housekeeping mix‑up -- it's a direct breach of personal security and a complete disregard for guest safety. When I raised the issue, both the front desk supervisor and front desk agent told me the property can "enter any room at any time," even with a Do Not Disturb posted. That statement alone should concern anyone staying here. It shows a total lack of understanding of basic privacy, guest rights, and safety protocols. The Regional Manager didn't handle it any better. He offered 5,000 points (about $20) as a "gesture," and seemed surprised when I told him that was unacceptable. The fact that such a serious violation was met with a token offer and blank stares says everything. What became painfully clear is that no one at this property -- from the front desk to management -- grasps the gravity of entering a guest's room without permission. They treated it as if it were nothing, when in reality it's a major security breach that puts guests and their belongings at risk. If you value your privacy, your safety, or the expectation that your room won't be accessed without your consent, do not stay here. This property has made it clear they do not take those responsibilities seriously.

Go to the room and gnats are flying, floor is wet, phone is unhooked, there are cockroaches crawling, and the most disgusting thing I've ever seen, boogers all over the walls. They have a housekeeping staff, yet the rooms are still dreadful and gross. When I opened the room door, I was instantly shocked and realized this was a BIG mistake. Our room reeked of wet dog and cigarettes. The odor was so prominent and intense that no amount of air freshener was able to mask that pungent nasty scent. This disgusting scent remained throughout our entire stay here. I notified 2 cleaning staff and neither of them were even a bit surprised. One handed me a basically empty can of air freshener that quickly finished. I asked another staff member for an air freshener and she didn't have one and said to go to the front desk. Surprise, surprise the front desk was also out of air freshener so we were stuck with this disgusting smell. This hotel is also situated in an extremely ghetto area. Homeless and questionable people roam the premises 24/7. We regularly kept checking our car to verify if it was broken into yet. I always took all of my valuables with me whenever I left the room because I did not trust this place. The people inhabiting the neighboring rooms also looked sketchy and questionable themselves. Almost always did the parking lot reek of marijuana. Carpets in the room and throughout the building are outdated, dirty, and have black stains on them. The furniture in the room was also stained and filthy and the bathroom sink was atrocious. There was a lot of trash outside the entrance of the building, absolutely nothing in the room looked aesthetically pleasing, and the entire room looked abysmal and had an unsanitary and filthy feel to it. When I pulled open the bath curtain to take a shower, I was greeted by a lovely spider. How fun!!!! One of the most sickening parts about staying here were the nasty white stains on the red sheets below the mattress. (Pictures below) Absolutely gross!!!!!! Definitely an off-putting sight seeing white drips/stains on a bed you're supposed to sleep on. It makes you doubt the competence of the housekeeping staff and highly question the cleaning practices of this hotel. Given the conditions, I'm not sure if they even do the bare minimum when it comes to cleaning. If I can still see dirt and stains in the room, it is not fully clean and should NOT be rented out. How is that such a wild concept? I laid down my own blankets on the bed and pillows and never walked barefoot on the carpet as I couldn't even tell what was actually cleaned or washed in this room. Yes, it was that bad! As expected, I barely got any sleep in this place and I repeatedly kept getting woken up by noise and the insufferable cigarette and dog odor that inhabited the entire room. Just by seeing the condition of the room alone, I didn't even dare visit the pool. The staff are also aloof and apathetic. I voiced my complaints to four different employees and none of them were even a tiny bit shocked or apologetic about what I was experiencing. I'm pretty sure they are used to repeatedly hearing the same complaints and are already immune to anything negative you say. I'm genuinely surprised that this place hasn't been shut down by a health inspector yet. It's both scary and laughable to think that people are paying good money to stay in these garbage rooms, when they should instead be getting compensated for surviving a night here. This is by far the dirtiest and worst place I've ever stayed at. I didn't think any other place would beat my Motel 6 experience but this hotel managed to do it. Whoever owns or runs this establishment should be truly ashamed of themselves. Unfortunately, we rented out 2 nights in advance, but the room was so awful that we ended up leaving a day early and lost the money for one entire night. We were quickly reminded by the rude lady at the front desk that there are no refunds. We were fine with that and just wanted to get out of this dump as soon as possible! That's what this place does to you. Makes you run for the hills. Worst $300 ever spent!!!! Sleeping in your car or anywhere else is a wayyyyy better upgrade than staying at this dump.
