So, let's start with the good. The lady we spoke to for reservations was very professional and helpful. In addition, the night attendant Perry was also very helpful and took us to our spot and pointed out where things were. That is all the good I can give the campground. Let's start with the "no's" . No wi-fi, no cable, no restrooms. If I am paying for a site, all three of those are mandatory. The campground itself is set next to the Merced River so there is good scenery, but the campground itself is old and worn out. I would say that' 80% plus are all permanent residents, some of their equipment in very poor condition. The roads are all gravel and my site was very un-level. I think there is good potential here, but there needs to be a lot of investment made to get this park back to a destination people will want to visit. read more

There is no pool, no showers, no bathrooms, and no swimming in river despite what the website says. Pool and bathrooms have been broke over a year. They charge a big price too with no amenities. The staff is very nice and accommodating. But the park is unkept and they allow people to have clutter, debris, garbage, tarps, old broken campers, broken windows. It's a shame. The summer pictures here look nice but the disrepair of the facilities and the appearance their guests are allowed to display ruins this park. It's somewhere to stay if you need it though. read more

We have lived here for 7 months now, and couldn't ask for a better experience. When looking in the area for homes or apartments to rent we decided to live in the trailer instead for one year while my husband is in his PA school rotations and I'm so glad we made this decision. Big pros: + Close enough to the freeway, central location to Turlock, Merced, Modesto, but without freeway noise (You will hear the train frequently but this is something I grew up around so it's actually comforting to me). +Friendly, helpful staff. +On site propane refill: You can leave your empty tank out and they'll refill it for you. Awesome. +Reasonable cost: Rent includes water, you just pay your own electric (get LED bulbs in your RV!) +Safety: The gate closes at night and you need a code to get in. I've never felt unsafe here! Neighbors have been friendly too. +Dog friendly: Dog park for big and little ones. -Con but not worth removing a star: WiFi is crappy. We get by with our hot spot and Starbucks one exit away if we really need to get something done without it kicking us off. Our spot is right on the river and I love waking up and seeing the fog roll over the river. We plan on staying a full year and I know I will have many good memories of this place! read more

We phoned ahead for a space for our motorhome & tow. said we'd like pull thru. none but said overflow would work. we did not want to unhook & told the girl. She took us down this narrow road and didn't tell us to turn around & we got stuck not being able to go forward, then telling us we couldn't go to overflow because of the 30amp & we have 50amp. we said we had a 30 amp adapter but no the old manager said, so we had to leave. such a joke & not that nice. read more

Went camping this weekend and the weather was beautiful! I love this rv site. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We were greeted by the security at the gate (we arrived around 7:30 pm) and once we received our map and assignment slot he offered to lead us to our spot. He was very informational on what we needed to know and made sure we got settled in. We met our residential neighbors who were super helpful the whole weekend and really nice. Heads up this place is mainly long-term tenants but that didn't seem to make a difference everyone was welcoming and really nice. The place was not bad, the only thing we had a small issue with was all the bathrooms were closed so you definitely have to use your bathroom in your RV and shower. (No fault of there own.) I would definitely would like to come back if I have the opportunity and highly recommend it if you like more of the forest-like atmosphere. read more

My review has nothing bad to say about what their doing for Covid-19, my dissatisfaction is that their website doesn't really represent what it actually looks like. First of all they thought I had 28 ft RV and I'm 40ft with a tow car so I had to go in the back of the campground which is all powder dirt and rocks smells like horse poop, I had to in hook my tow car, big pain, cable didn't work and picnic table area is a joke, needless to say I would never recommend this place, oh and I have dogs and when I took them out there are any hills in the long grass the ants bit the crap out of feet, really!!! I had to pick one star because they wouldn't let me post without it, should have been minus stars. read more

Clean, quiet RV park. Full hook-ups, enclosed dog park, large grassy area, huge playground for the kids and an awesome pool and bbq area. Not to mention, suuuper cheap, for what it offers. Its on the Merced river, decent bass fishing. Get a spot next to the large grass area and let the kids and dog play, while you watch from your site. Not much around the area, so its a good stop, for a night or two, along your way. Go by the nearby Dust Bowl brewery for an awesome lunch! Promise it wont disappoint, for the whole family read more

RV park would be fine for a one night stay. But it's super dusty due to dirt roads, dirt RV sites. You can definitely tell that it's an old RV park with uneven sites. It looks as though that at some point, the road was paved but the asphalt has long been worn and is now just dirt and dust. The sites are pretty close together and the hook up for sewer/water encroaches on your neighbors picnic table. The electric hook up is overridden with spiderwebs and dust. Only positive is that the bathrooms and laundry rooms are nice and clean. Almost hurts to not write a glowing review since the ladies who run the office are super nice. read more

I have not stayed at this place since 2011. My boyfriend and I came to visit it again this past June with our new Travel Trailer. The front desk lady (very friendly...forgot her name though) went over the rules and areas we can stay, but also mentioned that there are the occasional "bob cats" and other scary animals that may be roaming around. WE like to fish! Has anyone had any encounters with these animals? We want to stay there next month. :-/ Thanks in advance. read more

Great staff. I didn't have a reservation because it it was a stopover I did not expect. They have a gate closed for after hours. Just call the number that's on the gate and they will open it and help you find a spot. Luckily, there was room in the dirt lot of area so dry camping was it for the night however I was so tired I did not care I just wanted to stop somewhere where it was safe and I could sleep. Tammy was great and told me if I want needed to run the generator for the air, i could. I dry camped and was up by the pool had it all to myself. I will definitely stop there again just because of how friendly they were to me. I didn't get to use any of the facilities because I didn't need them and I was heading out early. But with over 100 camp spots and almost everyone of them full, i am sure it is a wonderful clean facility. read more

Beautiful area, clean campground, easy to get to off of 99 in California. Drawback: Loud bass music from neighborhood a quarter mile away. Our fan drowned it out for sleep. Music off about 10 pm. Prob would not stay here again. read more

The park is nice and clean. Rates reasonable and good size spaces. The back part of off the facility is for folks living in their rigs. Everyone was very friendly. The dog park was very big, clean and freshly mowed. Every where was nicely trimmed grass. The only reason for four stars instead of five was the noise from Highway 99, the seemingly constant trains and the folks living in their rigs driving in and out at all hours. If I was driving on 99 again and needing rest, i would stay there again. Don't miss the sunrise over the Merced River through the oak trees. read more

We were passing through town for a trip to northern CA and we stayed here one night. We booked online after hours and rolled in about a half hour later in the dark. We were greeted at the gate by 2 helpful kids (the employees children) and then by Ron & Monica - the security and office team. They were wonderful! They guided us to a spot right near the laundry room since we said we needed to do laundry. They helped us get our hook ups set up, then came back to check on us a bit later, and even came back again to give us a brick to hold down our sewer line (ours was broken unbeknownst to us). The laundry room was great - super clean. We loved the dog park, which was also clean and well taken care of. What we saw of the RV park was clean and well manicured. Many long term residents, but the few we crossed paths with were very friendly. Wanted to come back on our trip home, but our route changed. Worst Customer Service Ever! I made my reservation 13 days prior to my arrival date. I paid for a full hook up site, for 3 days, and in full at the time of my reservation. 2 days before I was to arrive, I received a call from a lady from the parl. She informed me that they had a large party come in and that they had taken my reserved site. She said that they would need to change my reservation to a site that had sewer and water only. No electric. I was traveling with 2 dogs and my teen daughter. When I told her it wasn't fair that they gave away a site that I had paid for she turned the phone over to the manger. This woman was rude and unsympathetic. She simply said this is the best we can do. I told her that I made my reservation 2 weeks in advance and it isn't fair that they gave it to someone who just showed up. She then lied to me telling me that this large group had made their reservations before me. While I believe they did have reservations I believe more showed up than they had reserved for. The manager continued with this story telling me that their on line website doesn't work in real time and sometimes it over books. I told her I could not use this other site and needed full hook ups. She again refused to give me the reservation I had paid for. I then told her to just cancel the reservation and refund my money, which she was very happy about. I told her I would just find another RV park to which she sarcastically replied "Good Luck". I did find another site but it was a lot farther away than I wanted to be and due to this RV park waiting so long to notify me, I didn't have much to choose from. I will never make a reservation at this park again. If you choose to, I suggest you call to make your reservation and get the name of the person you are speaking to and a confirmation number. But remember that if someone comes in earlier they may just change your reservation whether you paid for it or not. Update: The manager contacted me and gave me a free weekend to make up for my mistreatment. It took a while but I did go down and stayed at the park. The pool was nice and everything worked great. The park was quiet except for the freeway road noise. The staff was very nice and the bathrooms were clean. We had a nice relaxing weekend. I will definitely stay here again. I didn't increase my star count to a five star because of my previous experience but will continue to update as I have more experiences with this park. Thanks so much for having us. read more

This park is more of a residential trailer park. During the Memorial Day weekend, we were the only "weekend" campers I saw coming or going. There is absolutely nothing to do here. All we heard were dogs barking, train whistles and freeway noise. The cable service is worse than the antenna that came with our trailer. Also, there must be a pet food factory close by, because the aroma of pet food was overwhelming if the wind blew in the right direction. They put the weekenders in the sites with no tree coverage. Nothing like sitting in the dirt with no shade. We paid for 2 nights, barely stayed for 1. We left early the next morning. The best feature about this park is the clean restrooms. read more

Enjoyed an overnighter. Right on the river and highway and R/R tracks. Not much of the Park is paved so can be messy on the shoes. Grass and weeds need mowed. Very clean restrooms and laundry. Friendly staff at check in. Eighty percent of tenants appear to be full time but that is the Kalifornia economy. Their rigs are well kept. Dog run is huge but we didn't take our dogs there. Something about a pit bull mix and his 10-year old handler was a little uncomfortable. Some underground repairs in progress. read more

Absolutely the most boring RV site we've been to. There was no activities, not even water in the River. It was dirty, dusty and dead man. The one star was for the clean bathrooms and laundry room. We didn't even stay for an hour. Very misleading and extremely disappointed. read more

Spent a month here, as this was our only option while visiting family.This "not a resort" is situated in the armpit of California. It STINKS of onions and garlic and nasty smells emanating from the Merced filthy drainage ditch ( not a river on this property.) Our site A6 was so small and on the corner where everyone drive in and out of the park, we asked to be moved and were told they could not move us. THEN...we started noticing the ladybugs in the camper..10 to 30 a day. Yuck, kept killing them, and there were always more. On the day we left, we pulled the slides in and there were THOUSANDS of ladybugs living in the slides!!!!! OMG, they were everywhere. We spent hours getting rid of them, and it is now THREE MONTHS later, and THEY ARE STILL ALL OVER THE RV!!! We told the owners, their response...oh, it is the tree on the site, it attracts them. No offer to help clean it up, or help with the situation. Hello, if you knew that, why did you not take care of this. I cannot even tolerate my RV anymore as those damn bugs keep on coming out of the woodwork, no matter what we tried. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 months while I was in the area working. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The office staff is extremely friendly. One big plus for people who travel with dogs, is there are two dog parks, one fairly big and one extremely large, which dog lovers really enjoy and put to use, typically using the smaller one for a single family and the very large one as a community one where all the dogs /owners meet up and visit. The bathrooms and laundry rooms are great and always clean. There are bathrooms next to the camping spots and other bathrooms next to the swimming pool, with a large clubhouse also next to the swimming pool. About 3/4 of the sites are rented by monthly people, like me, working in the area for several weeks. The reason for not giving a 5 star rating is because of the dusty roads. If they were paved, I would have given it a 5 star, however, it is in the plans to pave the roads. All the people were friendly and nice. Around Memorial Day, there were teenagers camping with their parents who thought they were special and rules, like speed limits in the park, weren't for the "special" ones to follow, even when staff asked them to slow down. That makes the dust worse, however remember there is a drought and they are not getting much rain. The description of the river makes it sound very appealing, however, with the drought, the river is totally different from what it used to be and is not very appealing. There is nothing the campground can do about the drought though. Both my husband and I would stay here again. read more

This park was fine for us. It provided what we needed. A place to stay and jumping off point for a day trip to Yosemite. It is set back off the highway further than most. The following is in response to some of the other reviews: There are very expensive RV resorts on coastal Highway 1 (one in particular with 400 spaces and charges over $75 per night) that you're not going to get a moment's sleep or peace and quiet because the highway is right outside their fences. Though it appeared that the park has a lot of resident campers, the only vehicle going in and out the 36 hours we were there was ours. If you are traveling with a keg looking for a place to tap it, it's probably best to do your partying and kicking up dust at home. It you want a place to stay that is easy to get into and out of, that if you RSVP/prepay and are late the manager puts a map with your name and space number on it and you never find out if its a him or a her, or if arriving after hours are relieved and grateful for the list of available spaces being posted on the bulletin board, then this is the place to get some rest for a day, two or three and then move along. Maybe to the expensive place on the central coast where a third of the spaces are so close to Highway 1 that, when there is an infinitesimal moment of silence, you wonder if you finally have gone tone deaf. read more
