We have lived here for 7 months now, and couldn't ask for a better experience. When looking in the area for homes or apartments to rent we decided to live in the trailer instead for one year while my husband is in his PA school rotations and I'm so glad we made this decision. Big pros: + Close enough to the freeway, central location to Turlock, Merced, Modesto, but without freeway noise (You will hear the train frequently but this is something I grew up around so it's actually comforting to me). +Friendly, helpful staff. +On site propane refill: You can leave your empty tank out and they'll refill it for you. Awesome. +Reasonable cost: Rent includes water, you just pay your own electric (get LED bulbs in your RV!) +Safety: The gate closes at night and you need a code to get in. I've never felt unsafe here! Neighbors have been friendly too. +Dog friendly: Dog park for big and little ones. -Con but not worth removing a star: WiFi is crappy. We get by with our hot spot and Starbucks one exit away if we really need to get something done without it kicking us off. Our spot is right on the river and I love waking up and seeing the fog roll over the river. We plan on staying a full year and I know I will have many good memories of this place!

Tree branches falling on on my trailer!

And the service was top notch. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner every night, but since we had our dog with us they sat us outside and made sure we felt comfortable. That's probably my only knock, is that if you're marketing it as dog friendly, there should be some better restaurant options for dogs. But honestly they were very accommodating. We thought we were going to be bummed to be so far out of the valley floor, but it turned out to be the perfect escape from the crowds. We will definitely be coming back.

The location is fantastic, the accommodations are well designed, and the pools and amenities are excellent. The setting truly feels like a luxury retreat and has the potential to be an exceptional destination. Unfortunately, several service issues significantly impacted our stay. One of the biggest frustrations involved food service at the pool. On multiple occasions, we ordered food that took an extremely long time to arrive, and at times never arrived at all. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy the amenities we had specifically come to experience. We also experienced several billing issues during our stay. Jamie, the manager, was involved in handling some of the charges, and despite our efforts to resolve the discrepancies, the situation became unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming. Another disappointing issue involved a bag that was left behind. What should have been a simple customer service matter turned into a stressful and difficult process. Communication was inconsistent, and we felt as though we had to repeatedly follow up to get information and assistance. To make matters worse, when we attempted to escalate our concerns, we spoke with a supervisor named Emily. During the conversation, she was dismissive, rude and hung up on us! Insane that this was the person we were trying to get help from. Despite the circumstances, we never received a follow-up call to address our concerns or continue the discussion. It's unfortunate because the property itself is truly beautiful, and we wanted to love our experience. However, luxury hospitality is about more than just the physical location, it is also about service, communication, and how guests are treated when problems arise. While Firefall Ranch has many wonderful qualities, the service issues we encountered left us disappointed. Based on our experience, we would never return or recommend this place to friends or family.

She was very helpful and informative the entire time, even after our room block closed. The waterpark is great for kids probably from 3-12. We saw adults enjoying their time there, but mostly kids/families were kiddos that were fully mobile and at least 3 ft tall. I think 3ft is the minimum for getting kids access to 2 of the waterslides. My son just hit that requirement and he had such a blast just with the two slides. I think the 4-5 year olds loved the tide pool and the slides as well. This spot is really convenient for families to just have a place to stay, food, and entertainment all in one place. There are activities like yoga, story time, and arts & crafts. They also have a candy and ice cream shop on site. I really think we could probably come here annually and our kids can keep coming back to experience new things. My son only explored a fraction of the park, so I think by next year he'll have an even better time. Food here is mostly fried and not super diverse. Manage your expectations for healthier options because they really cater to the kids with pizza, burgers, nachos. The one salad they had on the menu was shockingly nor good. The rooms here are a small step above holiday inns - clean enough, pretty basic with not a ton of frills, has a mini fridge and plenty of counter space. I feel like food, rooms, entertainment, etc are all catered for families, don't expect luxury or any frills - but expect making some sweet and exciting memories with the family!

The one with the clothing required was full, so I decided to track over to the clothing optional part. It was a great relaxing time where I took time to read a book that I haven't been able to enjoy for a while. Since I had packed a lunch, I went to over one of the picnic tables that they had and enjoy my lunch. After lunch, I headed over to the regular pool again. However, there are areas where you can camp out with cabins and I believe in airstream you can rent out. Highly recommend.

The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. She even brought it back to the library the morning we left, for others to use during their stay. The pet welcome is a nice touch. This site is very pet friendly. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

I understand this is a pet-friendly hotel, but the carpets in my room had several noticeable stains and gave the room a slightly dirty appearance and lingering odor. I think the hotel would greatly benefit from regularly steam cleaning or replacing the carpets, as first impressions matter. The complimentary breakfast was average at best. On multiple mornings, little things were missing or not working--whether it was no milk available, the beverage machine being out of service, or simple items like honey for tea not being restocked. These may seem like small details, but they're the kinds of touches that make guests feel cared for. As the saying goes, it's often the little things that matter most. That said, if you're visiting Turlock for work, this is still one of the more convenient and better lodging options in the area. The location is good, and for a smaller city with limited hotel choices, it gets the job done. With a little more attention to cleanliness and consistency, this hotel could easily earn a higher rating

If your goal is to spend your time in the new building, there's plenty of parking down on the lower lot. We signed up for the players club which came with $10 in free play, which got used up pretty quick. They have a ton of slots and a handful of card tables. The lowest minimum I saw for blackjack was $15, and definitely the most popular of the blackjack tables. I spent most of my time on the slots and while I started off hot, the casino always wins in the end lol. I racked up enough player points to get a free bluetooth speaker, which was pretty cool! The slots I had the best luck on was the Top Dollar and Huff n Puff machines. Everything else was no good for me. The Casino floor isn't huge by any stretch but does what it needs to do. They have a few restaurants on-site. The 209 sports bar was the busiest and one of the only spots to watch sports and eat. The bar on the 3rd floor had live music after 9pm and was pretty lively. I was low key very surprised at how busy it was. Overall, solid spot to get your casino fix that just so happened to be a short drive from where we are staying. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits!
