A beautiful property located near Yosemite Nat'l Park provided a luxe stay for a friend's wedding weekend. The two bedroom cottage was gorgeous and comfortable, with every design detail beautifully thought out. The generously sized porch provided a relaxing spot for morning and evening enjoyment. Our interactions with staff were always friendly and accommodating. The lobby provides a large sitting area equipped with games and a fireplace. The property also has a beautiful heated pool, mini golf and activities throughout the day. There are also two restaurants on site. We had an amazing stay and can't wait to return.

This place is so worth the hype and the price-tag, we had a wonderful 3-night stay in one of their 2-bedrooms. The ranch is beautiful - and fully-equipped for an easy family vacation. There are bicycles all around the property (in multiple sizes including a kid's size) that make getting around easy and fun. The cabins are equipped with all the basics and more - ours had a keurig, a blowdryer, and a handheld steamer. The employees were all lovely - from the front desk to the coffee shop! The amenities are top notch and keep the kids (and adults) entertained from mini golf, disc golf, BEAUTIFUL pool and hot tubs, a rock climbing rock, foosball, ping pong, full sized volleyball/badminton net, scavenger hunt, nightly smores, and so much more! As for Yosemite, it took about an hour to get into the valley inside the park. It's about a 20-minute drive from the ranch to the Big Oak Flat Entrance, and another 45-minutes to get down into the valley.

This was truly a bizarre hospitality experience. My husband and I visited Firefall Ranch specifically to scout it as a retreat location for 50-100 of my physician colleagues this fall; it was initially very high on my list, but that has since changed. The property was borderline empty during our stay, yet we were consistently rushed and treated poorly by the staff. One morning, we sat down for breakfast at 10:20 AM in their restaurant, which was nearly empty (2 tables were occupied). By 10:40 AM (after being there for only 20 minutes!) our waitress was already pressuring us for the check while 80% of our food was untouched. When my husband requested a second cup of coffee, it was provided reluctantly, and within five minutes, the staff returned multiple times to hover for a credit card. Instead of a slow morning, we felt like we were being shoved out of a vacant restaurant during the middle of normal business hours. The lack of flexibility continued with check-out. It should be noted that the 4:00 PM check-in is uncommonly late, and the 11:00 AM check-out is uncommonly early. When I requested a slight extension to 12:00 (which should not have been an issue given the entire property was vacant), the person I spoke with was rude. They stated we could stay until 12:00 PM, but any time beyond that would incur a fee. Regardless, at 11:15 AM on the morning of check-out, an employee called our room asking us to leave, completely ignoring the 12:00 PM extension we had been granted the night before. The strangest interaction occurred at the general store, when they attempted to charge my husband a "tax" to convert his dollars to quarters for the laundry machine. Per U.S. Treasury principles, currency is legal tender at face value; attempting to levy a tax on a simple exchange is absurd, unprofessional, and not to mention, NOT LEGAL. In addition to the hostile service, the food is mediocre and outrageously overpriced ($18 for focaccia bread???). I grew up in one of the most expensive cities in the world and have never encountered such a distorted price-to-quality ratio in my life. While the property is beautiful, the culture of the staff is one of profound indifference. Firefall Ranch seems more interested in petty surcharges and rigid timelines than in basic guest satisfaction; as a result, I will absolutely not be recommending this venue for our department's retreat.

We went horseback riding and had an amazing time! The horses were so well behaved and the scenery was Epic!

Gorgeous place on the way to Yosemite. Beautiful grounds - Dog friendly throughout the venue. I was even able to bring my golden retriever into the restaurant! Service staff were very accommodating and helpful and food was top notch. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the disc golf course. It's pretty and they have great baskets and concrete pads. HOWEVER - the course is not groomed at all! I left after the 6th due to all the stickers/seed pods that were stuck in my shoes and socks. I'm not certain I can even recover the shoes because these pods are impossible to remove. The socks are trashed. Expensive lesson!

This was a surprise, romantic getaway for my sweetheart! He loved it! The whole compound is absolutely amazing. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage looking out over the pond, it was so clean and comfortable. Everything about this cottage from the extremely comfortable bed to the spacious hot shower made for a wonderful stay. We just loved it! We also ate dinner at Yova restaurant, it was delicious and the service was on spot. The big bonus is how close and accessible the Big oak flat entrance into Yosemite national Park is. We were able to spend a full day in enjoying the park and easy drive back to Firefall in the evening. We can't wait to come back and have recommended this property to all our friends and family.

Our stay at Firefall Ranch was one of the best family vacations. We used our time there to reset and relax and the 3 bdrm villa and nature setting was the perfect surrounding for us. We brought mindful coloring books, materials for visions boards, painting, and mindful activities for the kids too including yoga. We went on a few nature hikes and loved that it wasn't too crowded. It was so peaceful. We loved the flexibility of the accommodations they had. Their pool is open 24/7 and the nightly smores and open availability of the fire pits allowed us to enjoy the outdoors for longer into the night. The market was well stocked and every experience we had with staff was helpful and friendly. Our first day, I asked for 2 pairs of scissors since I had forgotten them for our vision boards and the man at the front desk just pulled them out of his drawer and offered it to us. That is great customer service! I also have to say that the coffee at the coffee bar in the market is surprisingly good. I wouldn't have guessed that! We also really enjoyed going to the activity center and the scavenger hunt. The kids loved that they were able to get a prize for this:) The Tavern, we would have to say we enjoyed during breakfast more than lunch. The pancakes were soo delicious. I loved that they weren't traditional pancakes and so did my daughter for her kids breakfast. The mozz focaccia sandwich I had during lunch was just ok for me. Shoutout to Alyssa for amazing service, btw! I do have to say, that our room upon check in was not the cleanest, but definitely not the biggest deal. There was hair caught on one of the lamps and stuff was found under the couches and beds, and stains on the walls and pull out couch. We are excited for our next visit. We heard they are trying to put in an ice skating rink this year! We'd love to experience this!

Absolutely an incredible place to go spend your time, relaxing, horseback riding swimming pool, gourmet dining, and beautiful views

I can't recommend this resort enough! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the warm hospitality, stunning surroundings, and attention to detail. The cabins were immaculate, luxurious, beautifully designed, and offered every comfort imaginable - a true home away from home. The location is perfect for exploring Yosemite, yet secluded enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. The views from our cabin were breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset. The amenities, including the cozy fire pits, heated pool, hot tub, lovely shop, coffee bar and restaurant, made our stay extra special. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and shared great tips for exploring the area. I needed to make a work phone call and had zero cell service-the concierge offered the use of their front desk phone to help! Whether you're here for adventure or relaxation, this resort delivers on every level. They're also pet-friendly! We'll definitely be back for another unforgettable experience! Five stars simply don't do it justice - it's a Yosemite gem!

My Husband loves the disc golf course and goes at-least once a week. The mini golf is fun and the staff are friendly! Beautiful environment.

The three bedroom villa was spectacular. The spiral staircase, kitchenette, fireplace and furnishings were top-notch and thoughtfully placed. Every meal we ate was spectacular. The skirt steak with mashed potatoes was out of this world. Santa brunch was magical and the hayride, including Santa's helper, a bearded dog, was a great touch. Sitting in the hot tub during the light show was awe inspired. Yosemite was closed for the day because of weather, but we didn't care because we came back to the villa tplayed games by the fire and drank hot chocolate. All in all, it was one of our favorite getaways as a family and pup.

The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows in every interaction across the resort. This was our family's first visit to Yosemite, and the resort felt like a true haven for both our son and us. There were so many thoughtful touches--from daily activities to easy access to beautiful trails. Our son especially loved the programming, from bingo to making clay animal handprints, and it was amazing to see how much he learned and enjoyed himself. The spa experience was a highlight. Alyssa provided the best facial I've ever had--her warmth, expertise, and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The spa facilities themselves were also fantastic and added to the overall sense of relaxation. The food was excellent, and we loved starting our mornings with coffee and fresh bakery items from the gift shop (which also had great finds for friends and family). Another standout was Mary Jane from the room service team--her service was best-in-class, always thoughtful, with extra touches like additional towels and personalized notes that made a real difference. We also appreciated the welcome gift for our son--it was such a meaningful and memorable touch. Rush Creek Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return.

We let the hotel know in advance that we'd be arriving late, past office hours, and their contactless check-in process was very easy - they made sure to let us know via email exactly what to expect upon after hours arrival. Our envelope and room key were easy to find, and that's when we noticed we had been assigned Room 15: "Lyle's Room." It is an older inn-style hotel; the room itself was clean, charmingly decorated, and the bed was comfortable. Our dogs were totally fine and relaxed. The only thing I found a little unusual was an extra sink being inside the bedroom area near the dresser and facing the bed, but I chalked it up to the design of an older historic hotel. That night, while we were winding down and watching something on our phone since there was no TV in the room, I noticed the sink turn on and off a couple of times for about 1-2 seconds each. I figured it was just old plumbing. Other than that, nothing else out of the ordinary and we slept peacefully. The next morning is when things got interesting. We left for an early morning hike, and when we came back and put the key in the door, the entire doorknob fell off. We couldn't get into the room. When we went to the front desk, they simply said, "Oh, Lyle!" and called maintenance. Once maintenance arrived, he let us in and fixed the doorknob. While we were packing up, my husband went to take a shower. Everything was fine until he tried to turn the shower off and realized the knob just kept spinning. The shower would not shut off!! We quickly got dressed and notified the front desk right away, while the shower continued running. Then steam started wafting into the bedroom, and we realized the water was very hot with no way to cool it down or stop it! Maintenance came back, worked on it, and realized he needed a completely new part, so he had to leave and return while the water kept running. The staff and maintenance handled everything with a great attitude and great, responsive service despite the chaos. We later found out it was the maintenance guy's first day on the job, and everyone joked that Lyle was just giving him a hard time on day one. After the fact, we learned more about Lyle's Room and its haunted reputation, and honestly, we are believers after having no idea about him! It felt like Lyle was making himself known and having a little fun. We did some post-stay research, and we found out that Lyle is actually known for causing mischief in those exact ways - water issues, room access problems, and little disruptions like the ones we experienced, which made the whole experience feel even more eerie and oddly fitting! Overall, the Groveland Hotel is a nice, charming, older hotel, and we'd stay again. Clean, comfortable, and just enough amenities for a decent overall stay in a small town. That said, I don't think we'd stay in Lyle's Room again, haha. At first, I wished we had been given a heads-up that the room was famously haunted, but on second thought, I probably would have requested a different room if I had known. So maybe it was better this way - definitely a memorable stay! Thanks Groveland Hotel, and Lyle!

We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again.

Bathroom, spotless. The room, spotless. The folks here really take pride in their work. I would also like to mention their award winning (my personal award) breakfast. It was the best I've had a Best Western. Also, spotless. I would not hesitate to return or give it as a recommendation.

It's obvious to me that they take it seriously too! The room had a pod coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and free bottles of water. Comfortable beds and cotton (breathable) sheets. Breakfast had cheese omelettes, French toast-sticks, cereal, juice & fresh fruit. All tasty! The location is close to the freeway, but tucked away on a side street that is private. Because of that, it's much more quiet than the hotels along the Main Street in Sonora (15 minutes away). It is an hour and a half to Hetch Hetchy Dam, 15 minutes to Culver's Apple Farm in Tuolumne City, 8 minutes to Columbia and 3 miles from the BESTsourdough bread you EVER ate, from Two Acre Farms! Fantastic location. If I had 10 thumbs, I would hold them ALL up for this hotel! Truly a great stay!
