AMAZING experience. We came over the weekend and were blown away from the second we got there. The property is STUNNING, the rooms are so clean, private, and modern. And the service was top notch. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner every night, but since we had our dog with us they sat us outside and made sure we felt comfortable. That's probably my only knock, is that if you're marketing it as dog friendly, there should be some better restaurant options for dogs. But honestly they were very accommodating. We thought we were going to be bummed to be so far out of the valley floor, but it turned out to be the perfect escape from the crowds. We will definitely be coming back. read more

We recently spent five days at Firefall Ranch and had mixed feelings about our experience. The property itself is beautiful. The location is fantastic, the accommodations are well designed, and the pools and amenities are excellent. The setting truly feels like a luxury retreat and has the potential to be an exceptional destination. Unfortunately, several service issues significantly impacted our stay. One of the biggest frustrations involved food service at the pool. On multiple occasions, we ordered food that took an extremely long time to arrive, and at times never arrived at all. This made it difficult to relax and enjoy the amenities we had specifically come to experience. We also experienced several billing issues during our stay. Jamie, the manager, was involved in handling some of the charges, and despite our efforts to resolve the discrepancies, the situation became unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming. Another disappointing issue involved a bag that was left behind. What should have been a simple customer service matter turned into a stressful and difficult process. Communication was inconsistent, and we felt as though we had to repeatedly follow up to get information and assistance. To make matters worse, when we attempted to escalate our concerns, we spoke with a supervisor named Emily. During the conversation, she was dismissive, rude and hung up on us! Insane that this was the person we were trying to get help from. Despite the circumstances, we never received a follow-up call to address our concerns or continue the discussion. It's unfortunate because the property itself is truly beautiful, and we wanted to love our experience. However, luxury hospitality is about more than just the physical location, it is also about service, communication, and how guests are treated when problems arise. While Firefall Ranch has many wonderful qualities, the service issues we encountered left us disappointed. What an incredible place. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the value shows up the moment you set foot on the property--everything is stunning, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. You genuinely don't need to leave to have a full vacation. There's miniature golf, a rock-climbing wall, beautiful hiking trails, yard games, and plenty of quiet spots to just relax and take in the scenery. The heated, 24/7 pool is a huge bonus, especially after a long hike or a day exploring Yosemite. The food is surprisingly good for a resort-style property, and you can tell they put real effort into it rather than treating it as an afterthought. But what really sets Firefall Ranch apart is the staff. They're warm, attentive, and seem to genuinely enjoy being there. And if you're traveling with a dog--this is the place. The two bedroom cottage was gorgeous and comfortable, with every design detail beautifully thought out. The generously sized porch provided a relaxing spot for morning and evening enjoyment. This place is so worth the hype and the price-tag, we had a wonderful 3-night stay in one of their 2-bedrooms. The ranch is beautiful - and fully-equipped for an easy family vacation. There are bicycles all around the property (in multiple sizes including a kid's size) that make getting around easy and fun. The cabins are equipped with all the basics and more - ours had a keurig, a blowdryer, and a handheld steamer. The employees were all lovely - from the front desk to the coffee shop! The amenities are top notch and keep the kids (and adults) entertained from mini golf, disc golf, BEAUTIFUL pool and hot tubs, a rock climbing rock, foosball, ping pong, full sized volleyball/badminton net, scavenger hunt, nightly smores, and so much more! As for Yosemite, it took about an hour to get into the valley inside the park. It's about a 20-minute drive from the ranch to the Big Oak Flat Entrance, and another 45-minutes to get down into the valley. read more

Our Daughter was married at Firefall in May. We had a wonderful experience. Imari, our wedding coordinator was so calm and organized. She went beyond making our weekend one that we will cherish forever. It was a three day event and our family and friends loved it. It gave us a chance to visit with our friends and get to know the other side of the family. Friday night was the BBQ by the pond. Casual and fun. The next day was the wedding, which was in the most beautiful meadow. No easy feat, getting the chairs, tables, music, etc all set up, not to mention cutting the grass. Imari handled it all without a glitch. I will never forget seeing my husband and daughter walking through the meadow to the wedding site. Magical! The reception at the event center was perfect. Elegant, yet very comfortable. And the food was great too. We danced until 10, and then the ones who weren't ready for bed, moved to the Tavern for Karaoke. The next morning we had a farewell brunch, with a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. A great way to say our good byes, reminisce the fun weekend and see the happy couple off. Many of our guests stayed at Firefall, and I heard nothing but wonderful comments about the resort. It was a weekend to remember. From arrival, the stay felt disorganized. We arrived before 9 pm with two exhausted kids, and the room was not fully ready... the second bedroom was locked at check-in and had to call and have them come. We had also pre-purchased adventure packs that were not provided and had to go back to the front desk to request them. No one clearly explained how the bed and breakfast package worked, which led to confusion that ultimately turned into a billing issue. The most concerning part of our stay was how this package was handled. At check-in, we were explicitly told it functioned as a general food and beverage credit and did not need to be used specifically for breakfast. Based on that information, we made decisions during our stay. At checkout, we were told the opposite, it only applied to breakfast and despite acknowledging we didn't use it, we were still charged the full packaged rate. The response from the front desk was essentially that it "didn't matter" because we didn't order breakfast anyway. That logic is unacceptable. Guests should not be charged based on misinformation provided by staff, and the lack of ownership in resolving this was incredibly disappointing. Service overall lacked coordination. There were often multiple staff members present, but it consistently felt like only one person had accurate information at any given time. Service was slow, follow-through was inconsistent, and basic guest communication was missing. Additional issues that compounded the experience: * No ability to order food or drinks from the pool - a surprising gap for a resort at this level * Key cards repeatedly stopped working, including replacements * Vents in the room rattled, making it difficult to relax * Food was mediocre and did not meet expectations for the price point Individually, these might be minor inconveniences. Together and especially paired with the billing issue and lack of accountability they reflect a broader operational problem. This was truly a bizarre hospitality experience. My husband and I visited Firefall Ranch specifically to scout it as a retreat location for 50-100 of my physician colleagues this fall; it was initially very high on my list, but that has since changed. The property was borderline empty during our stay, yet we were consistently rushed and treated poorly by the staff. One morning, we sat down for breakfast at 10:20 AM in their restaurant, which was nearly empty (2 tables were occupied). By 10:40 AM (after being there for only 20 minutes!) our waitress was already pressuring us for the check while 80% of our food was untouched. When my husband requested a second cup of coffee, it was provided reluctantly, and within five minutes, the staff returned multiple times to hover for a credit card. Instead of a slow morning, we felt like we were being shoved out of a vacant restaurant during the middle of normal business hours. The lack of flexibility continued with check-out. It should be noted that the 4:00 PM check-in is uncommonly late, and the 11:00 AM check-out is uncommonly early. When I requested a slight extension to 12:00 (which should not have been an issue given the entire property was vacant), the person I spoke with was rude. They stated we could stay until 12:00 PM, but any time beyond that would incur a fee. Regardless, at 11:15 AM on the morning of check-out, an employee called our room asking us to leave, completely ignoring the 12:00 PM extension we had been granted the night before. The strangest interaction occurred at the general store, when they attempted to charge my husband a "tax" to convert his dollars to quarters for the laundry machine. Per U.S. Treasury principles, currency is legal tender at face value; attempting to levy a tax on a simple exchange is absurd, unprofessional, and not to mention, NOT LEGAL. In addition to the hostile service, the food is mediocre and outrageously overpriced ($18 for focaccia bread???). I grew up in one of the most expensive cities in the world and have never encountered such a distorted price-to-quality ratio in my life. While the property is beautiful, the culture of the staff is one of profound indifference. Firefall Ranch seems more interested in petty surcharges and rigid timelines than in basic guest satisfaction; as a result, I will absolutely not be recommending this venue for our department's retreat. read more

HOWEVER - the course is not groomed at all! I left after the 6th due to all the stickers/seed pods that were stuck in my shoes and socks. Misleading listing. We booked partly for the spa/sauna described as "minutes away," but on arrival the front desk literally told us this is "more of an advertisement for their sister property." In reality, those amenities are a 25-minute drive away, which left us questioning the accuracy of the rest of the website. Our stay at Firefall Ranch was one of the best family vacations. We used our time there to reset and relax and the 3 bdrm villa and nature setting was the perfect surrounding for us. We brought mindful coloring books, materials for visions boards, painting, and mindful activities for the kids too including yoga. We went on a few nature hikes and loved that it wasn't too crowded. It was so peaceful. We loved the flexibility of the accommodations they had. Their pool is open 24/7 and the nightly smores and open availability of the fire pits allowed us to enjoy the outdoors for longer into the night. The market was well stocked and every experience we had with staff was helpful and friendly. Our first day, I asked for 2 pairs of scissors since I had forgotten them for our vision boards and the man at the front desk just pulled them out of his drawer and offered it to us. That is great customer service! I also have to say that the coffee at the coffee bar in the market is surprisingly good. I wouldn't have guessed that! We also really enjoyed going to the activity center and the scavenger hunt. The kids loved that they were able to get a prize for this:) The Tavern, we would have to say we enjoyed during breakfast more than lunch. The pancakes were soo delicious. I loved that they weren't traditional pancakes and so did my daughter for her kids breakfast. The mozz focaccia sandwich I had during lunch was just ok for me. Shoutout to Alyssa for amazing service, btw! I do have to say, that our room upon check in was not the cleanest, but definitely not the biggest deal. There was hair caught on one of the lamps and stuff was found under the couches and beds, and stains on the walls and pull out couch. We are excited for our next visit. When I saw this place was opening up, I just had to snag the opening rates deal. I am one who likes to rough it during the day, but I want to come back to showers and a clean, quiet bedroom! I loved that this spot has completely private stand-alone cabins, and that the cabins come in 2 and 3 bedroom options. We stayed in a two bedroom which was already felt very spacious. The main bedroom has a king bed, little lounge area with a sofa, and the second bedroom can either have a queen or two twins. There's a tiny 'kitchen' area in the hallway which had a fridge along with a coffee maker. I have never ever stayed in a place more quiet than this! Slept like a baby. BTW Do NOT get the bed and breakfast package!!! When I checked out, they wanted to charge me even more for each breakfast saying there was a per person limit on the breakfast package. I told them that was not mentioned on the website, and nor did the waiters/waitresses ever warn us when we mentioned we had the package. I was a little annoyed that the front desk's response was "my tip is to never get the bed and breakfast package since it never saves any money" ... UMM--- then why offer it?? Ultimately they waved the fee though! I loved that they had bikes all over the grounds, that you can just borrow and leave wherever. The whole site is very walkable, but the bikes just made it extra convenient and fun to go to the restaurant or back to our room. POOL area- large pool, with a shallow (ie 1 foot) area nice for toddlers to play in. Tons of lounge chairs outside of the pool along with inside the shallow areas of the pool. Two jacuzzis. GUEST lounge- loved this comfy area which was just filled with new card and board games. It was our little tradition to come here after dinner and play games. GENERAL STORE- so so convenient to have this on site. Coffee/espresso bar, gelato bar (GET the gelato), gifts, tons of yummy and healthy snack options. Of course everything was a bit overpriced (and no price tags on anything!) but it was just so convenient with a great array. TAVERN- we ate here every night that we stayed here, as the other restaurant hasn't opened yet. I was impressed by how beautifully plated everything was as I kind of expected more of a bar food presentation. Food did take a while each night, and I wished there were more non-deep fried/non- red meat options- I ate the same salad each night. Pets are allowed but it was a $85 dollar fee per night which was more expensive than our sitter. Which worked out since many trails in yosemite are not dog friendly. They also offer a lot of tour packages, but they were quite pricey so we explored Yosemite on our own every day. It's about 20 minutes to the edge of Yosemite, and 1 hour to central Yosemite Valley. This was a surprise, romantic getaway for my sweetheart! He loved it! The whole compound is absolutely amazing. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage looking out over the pond, it was so clean and comfortable. Everything about this cottage from the extremely comfortable bed to the spacious hot shower made for a wonderful stay. We just loved it! We also ate dinner at Yova restaurant, it was delicious and the service was on spot. The big bonus is how close and accessible the Big oak flat entrance into Yosemite national Park is. We were able to spend a full day in enjoying the park and easy drive back to Firefall in the evening. Sitting in the hot tub during the light show was awe inspired. We got a last minute deal and had a nice relaxing time here. We had our two kids with us and our dog so got the 2 bed cabin. Cabin was really nicely decorated and had lots of space for us including a nice deck. The pool area and games area were also great. The grounds had a nice perimeter walk we could use to walk our dog. We ate dinner in the restaurant 2 nights in a row and the found the menu quite limited. Food and service were ok. Really enjoyed the place but wished the restaurant had better choice. Place is also super close to Yosemite but we did not go there this time. Great place to stay for multiple and bigger families. Price is a little steep especially with extra for dog. We may have passed at full price since we didn't know the place but after staying for a weekend I feel we may return with friends. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Firefall Ranch made my family's first trip to Yosemite so comfortable and memorable. We spend 3 nights in one of their beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabins. To start and most importantly, the cabin was CLEAN!!! This is always the most important factor in choosing accommodations for me. I'm very particular and was impressed by how spotless everything was. Even the outdoor furniture (how do they do that?). The daily housekeeping did an amazing job of keeping our room sparkling throughout our stay. Please tip housekeeping folks. They work hard and deserve it. The grounds are breathtaking. There is beautiful scenery everywhere. It was so peaceful stare out at the pond and woods from our porch. Their little store is very well stocked with lots of great snack and food options. They are very "in the know" when it comes to choosing healthy/high quality food. I appreciated that. They also had more general items for those who are not so health conscience. I didn't get to try the pool on this trip but it was very inviting. They have lots of seating and cabanas available for guests- I don't think there's a charge. The restaurant was ok. I didn't love or hate it. It is priced a bit high but understandable considering the large operation they are running. I would say plan a couple meals there and a few in the small towns near by. You get a small fridge in the room so be sure to bring easy meals with you- yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, protein shakes, veggies, etc. We went horseback riding. It turned out to be such a fun activity. The young lady running it was very sweet and helpful to novice riders such as myself. Would love to do it again in the future. Our recent stay was unfortunately disappointing due to several lapses in cleanliness and service. Upon arrival, our room's outdoor area was UNCLEAN with food still on the table, and the heavily wrinkled bedding raised doubts about whether the sheets had been changed. On our first night, my husband witnessed a crying staff member behind the reception, who I assumed was the same staff member on her cell phone when I asked for assistance earlier in the day. Service issues compounded our concerns. The following day, housekeeping discarded wine from our room, a first in our travel experience. When we reported this to the front desk, they initially took our information incorrectly and even with the correction they never followed up as promised. Additionally, my husband saw a manager yelling on a phone call which was extremely unprofessional . Furthermore, amenities were lacking; the shuffleboard in the gaming area had no sand, rendering it unusable. When my husband went to ask for a s'mores kit, they had run out leaving children from other parties disappointed. Having stayed at other local resorts, we found this experience to be by far our least favorite. Lastly, interactions at your sister property were similarly unhelpful, with staff providing incorrect directions and being unable to confirm basic information about their own facilities. Came for a luxury weekend getaway with my besties in October and we made the best of it with each other's company, but this place fell seriously short. Truth be told, I had to wait a while to write this review to shake off the dismay and disappointment this place left me feeling. I'm not a basher and it pains me to write bad reviews. Nice things first: -The property is absolutely gorgeous! It's beautifully maintained. String lights in common areas and it was festive with fall decor. -The service at the first desk was welcoming. -Everything is very new and clean. -Because it was chilly, there weren't a lot of people at the resort, which was really nice. -In room fireplace that occupies the living room/bedroom and patio area. -The restaurant was good the first night. We were pleasantly surprised they had such a great wine list. Not your typical selections of California wines, but more European varietals. -Layout of cottages is great, with ample room in between to ensure privacy. The cons are numerous: -It's expensive. Which is fine if you get the lux experience they are selling. Not the case. -The cottages are small and misleading. Two bedrooms is actually one bedroom with a pullout sofa. -The cottages need more furnishings. The only other seating aside from the sofa and outdoor two seater couch and chair are backless stools. No table area in kitchenette or on patio to have a snack or eat to-go food. -There is a little kitchenette offering Keurig coffee and a fridge. They give you 3 coffee pods with an unequal amount of sweetener and cream. -Outdoor patio could be cozy if they gave you more places to sit. -There are curtains in the living room/bedroom that don't cover the entire windows. Be prepared to be woken up by sunlight in the morning with a large portion of the upper window being uncovered. Bring a sleep mask if you're not an up with the sun person. -We would have gone to the pool or jacuzzi for a night swim/soak, but they offered no robes. Also no slippers. I always bring my own slippers, but not the point. -Non existent housekeeping when we asked for it daily upon check in. We had to call to get extra towels. Housekeeping left one - just one - wrapped in plastic in front of our door. -We were told this is not a dog friendly hotel and yet we saw a lot of dogs with guests who were clearly not service animals. -The lighting is very poor once you get out of the main common areas. We had to carry a flashlight at night to make our way to the restaurant. -Our second night we were turned away from the restaurant because they had a big party come in. We were told we could order food to go, but the order couldn't be put in for at least 20 minutes as the kitchen was backed up and overwhelmed. Like not even able to sit at the bar and have a drink while waiting sort of option. This was prime dinner time hour and very poor planning on their part. We were referred to a restaurant outside the property for what was described as 'cheap and hearty meals'. Not the vibe we were going for. I could go on with my disappointments, but I've made my point. I would not come back here, nor would I recommend it. I can't actually let myself think of the amount of money we spent here that was 100% NOT worth it. Firefall Ranch, you have a lot of amendments to make and pay attention to details. First time in the Yosemite area and I would like to visit again, but would seek lodgings elsewhere. read more

Checked into this two-month old resort. Friendly staff and super clean and modern amenities. They're still working out the kinks (kitchen was super slow, no room service, etc), but overall it was a great experience. No cell service or EV charging on site, but they do have super fast (200 Mbps+) free wifi. We noticed lots of mosquitos so not sure if they treat the pond that's adjacent to the cabins, so bring repellent. read more

Awful. 10$ to ice skate on a tiny square of fake ice- way overpriced for the experience. Payed extra for the dog friendly package in the cabins, and they didn't even have dog bowls, + they offered crates without a bottom rendering them useless. Called staff at 8:00 asking to replace soiled blankets, returned at 4 and they hadn't- then they did not answer the phones when housekeeping was called. This place is severely overpriced and the employees are rude to speak with and don't do their job. This place is not for anyone trying to have a nice time, only influencers looking for a quick photo. read more

This place is super fun. Bring your kids and your crew. Warm nights at the pool, solid food, great service. You can tell they are new and trying to work some operational kinks out but the staff and hotel is very charming and well thought out. I can't wait to bring my fam back next summer. read more

We enjoyed my husband's birthday evening at Yova @ Firefall Ranch. The night began in the lounge with windows galore to partake of the beautiful setting and excellent cocktails. My drink "Drop it like it's hot" was strikingly attractive and tasty, husband stays with high shelf scotch as his main stay. Cocktail prices were comparable with other nicer restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised with Yova's upscale and rich interior with comfortable seating. The meal and service were a hit! We both started with the Fennel Citrus salad consisting of orange, frisée , fennel, olives, pistachios, stracciatella cheese and citrus vinaigrette. Perfectly refreshing, artistically placed and delicious. For our other entrees, I had the Venison tenderloin with Demi glaze port Pomegranate sauce, and roasted Potatoes. The meat was lean, tender and the sauce perfectly paired with it. Our other entrée was the Maine Lobster and Prawn fettuccine with house made Tomato fettuccine, Grana Padano and Rosa sauce. Just DELICIOUS!! Our only comment on this dish, is the serving size could have been a bit larger. Birthday desserts consisted of Chocolate Streusel and Tiramisu which were Michelin starred fabulous! My review isn't so much about the service because it's nonexistent other than the front desk where they have to talk to you to check in and check out. The 4 stars is because it's a step above glamping. You have modern amenities in your own private cabin (we booked the 3 bedroom, more like 2 bedroom with an upstairs loft with 2 bathrooms). It's was ample space for our group. Water pressure was decent and the beds were decent. And, you're just 30 minutes away from the park entrance but note it will take another 30 minute to get into the base of Yosemite. I recommend jumping on the introduction special offer. I think this is as luxurious and modern as you can get to be near Yosemite. read more

We are big fans of off-season visits to Firefall Ranch's sister property, Rush Creek Lodge, and were excited to visit this recently opened location just 20 miles away on Highway 120. The quality of the lodging, tavern's and outside areas of both sites is quite good. But they aren't copy cats. And to generalize about the vibe, we'd say Rush Creek is more outfitted for families with young children. Firefall Ranch still is working on its grounds and is adding a stable/horses, but we thought overall it is a wee bit more adult. Some key differences include Firefall Ranch has 55 cabins, not lodge rooms. (We were told 55 more cabins are on their way.) We stayed three, mid-week nights in early March and found our cabin to be spacious, well decorated and outfitted - including with a good-sized refrigerator, and indoor-outdoor fireplace with a decent sized deck. It was very comfortable, more similar to the upgraded 2-bedroom Villa's at Rush Creek. A highlight of our stay was SNOW! Plus discovering that the service also is quite good at FR and the staff is very attentive, but not in a fake way. Even the dude loading logs into the public fireplace asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. Food at the Tavern was fine. In the off-season the restaurant space is not opened except on weekends. We like the Tavern atmosphere at both locations, but the FR bar seating appears larger than at RC. Menu offerings appear to feature similar type dishes at both locations for breakfast and dinner; not sure about lunch. Much of the landscape and trees around the FR main buildings and cabins is new. The young trees still have some growing to do. But the back area is forest, with mature evergreens which is delightful to see. We'll be back again and look forward seeing how FR fills-in. Retired folks with flexible schedules and tight budgets: We got a good deal on our cabin after spotting a Black Friday reduced rate for 2-nights at FR and we piggy-backed on that with a 3rd-night half-off offer for March stays. FR was not even half-occupied and we owned the highway and Yosemite. read more

So disappointed. This is our second visit and we love the property. We just checked out and walked in to leave our keys and walked into the store. The person working there at 9:50 am right now came out of the stock room and she gave us a side eye and didn't even greet us. Why have her work there if she can't be nice to people? You can go back on the camera and look. It would be nice to have more friendly employees when you're spending this kind of money at a lodge. read more

Too annoyed to write a full description but I will leave my Pros and cons below: Pro: Location, well thought out layout, picture perfect, comfy settings. Con: staff makes you feel unwanted; Not with one interaction but everyone from front desk, general store to restaurant. They make you feel like they're doing you a favor and you are bothering them each time you interact with them. Two shower heads in bathroom but only one actually flows, the other is clogged. S'mores they advertise are Stale, the crackers to the marshmallows. the pool is "heated", it's not. Definitely warmer than outside on a 45 day night but definitely not heated. Restaurant isn't consistent with quality, taste or portions. Same price as neighboring property "rush creek" but the value is much better there. read more

We got the villa! I usually refrain from posting redundant reviews but this so called "Resort with Restaurant" had descriptions provided by the waiter that was never met. We persuaded to order the higher end menu with a 30 OZ filet and ended up having roughly 8OZ that was edible. ($100 for a filet 8OZ pan seared filet that was HALF RAW American Wagyu. Very little flavor profile considering a pan sear can be based in many sauces. Left me hungry rest of evening. On the second night, our group decided to give another chance and ordered Squid puff pastry and it was completely hollow and tasted like stale goldfish. Not sure how 2 pieces of goldfish ended up costing me almost $20, but this was probably one of the worst dishes we have had. Also ordered a Lobster fettucine that was roughly half the size of a ramen bowl, and did not contain lobsters... It was clearly 1-2 pieces langoustine. As many know, langoustine only have meat on the end tail, we were essentially eating tail portions for advertised $42 "LOBSTER fettucine". Just wanted to give a perspective to PLEASE NOTE NOT TO DINE HERE. As the other review states, the sizes amount to smaller than kids portions. You will leave hungry and rely on smores for dinner. A few dishes taste wise were 2/5 Max ( ok for a national park), but for the price, i was extremely disappointed due to the amazing cabin atmosphere. I no doubt can cook a better filet than their Head chef, no disrespect, which is highly highly disappointing. FYI ( the bone marrow they advertise is not real bone marrow, it's reduced sauce that tastes like chimichurri) cook wise. Ordered medium rare and half of it was rare. A simple meat thermometer would have done the job, right? NOTE ***: For future lodgers, there is a much cheaper and hearty food area 5 mins drive away, the Tavern is overpriced. However, the manager at Tavern was very professional and attended to our needs, but unfortunately the kitchen food quality was very amateur and not up to par. Recently stayed at the new firefall ranch just outside Yosemite. This property was well thought out. The layouts of the cabins/cottages are stellar, with a nice balance of luxury and modern convenience while also maintaining the simple and cozy feel to maximize on the scenic setting. We particularly appreciated the dog friendly atmosphere, not only just in the rooms but at the tavern for dining and across the property. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed dining on property most days, the food was enjoyable. The growing pain they maybe need to work out in being so new is there was some noticeable inconsistency in the food. One day the omelet came with toast the other day it didn't. One day the side of veggies was a modest portion with garlic and white wine flavor, the next day it was a massive portion with no garlic/flavoring. It was hard to know what to expect if you wanted the same of what you'd liked. I had amazing chicken dish one night, loved it so much we had it again the next day and it was overly salty and the polenta seemed like it had been sitting there/dried out. 2 totally different dishes, expect it was a different chef. Located only 15-20 minutes from the Yosemite big flat oak entrance, we had no trouble getting in and out to the park. read more
