Very clean and affordable. We needed a spot close to Tracy for the weekend and this was perfect

    Nice shady spot

We really enjoyed our week long vacation here. Our spot was perfect with plenty of shade. It was nice and quiet for the most part until a few campers showed up for the holiday weekend. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Camped overnight. Ended up camping next to a large loud group which is never pleasant. They were up and making noise til way past midnight. Got up early to find that the bathrooms had not yet opened up. They were supposed to open by 6:30 and maybe by 7:30 they got around to it. Folks were friendly and sites were spacious which was nice. Hook ups all working well. Beautiful location with a beach on the river. Quite nice.

An idea of what the campsite and area looks like

It's not the ABSOLUTE WORST but it's not the best either. It could have been mediocre but like everyone says on here the staff is pretty rough to put it mildly. Once you talk them off the ledge they are more accommodating but in general you definitely feel policed the ENTIRE time you are there. The biggest downfall is the lack of full hookups at every site. We had to disconnect every other day and conserve a lot to dump. However there is NO FEE TO DUMP ONSITE (another earlier review states there's a fee). Most sites don't have sewage hookups but they do have water and electricity. There is no cable but not an issue because why are we watching tv instead of visiting with each other while camping? We did not use WiFi-T-MOBILE has decent service so most data needed was capable form hot spots and phones. The private boat launch and separate area in the park to park your boat:trailer is a nice amenity but beware...LOTS of blue algae and blooms on the bottom and visible in the launch area especially. The first day we got algae wrapped around the prop so badly we had to remove the scoop grate to untangle it. Once on the river be careful of sand bars and shallow areas. There is also a visible homeless encampment under the train trussle that well...you just don't know what's being dumped into the water.

On our 4th visit here, think about that for a second. Why would someone stay some where over and over again? Let me tell you. Great location, Friendly Staff, and a Well Managed RV Park. Check in is easy. Pull up to the gate, stay in the right lane, and push the call button. A ranger will answer and drive over shortly to check you in and guide you to your site. Some things to know, this is a Thousand Trails park, You will be required to show ID, Proof of Insurance and Current registration. ( its a rule that all TT parks are susposed to follow ) Next Only half the sites are full hookup the other half are Water and Electric. If you are camping here the onsite Dump station is Free. (they do not have a honey wagon). You can ask to be put on a list to move to a full hookup site when one becomes available. Or youu can dry camp but why? Its that simple, Just show up get to your site and relax. And yea, some bad campers that have been problems have written bad reviews because they are just, well, BAD. Don't be bad, come camp here with a great group of great RV'rs.

Sunset on our walk of the river.

Turtle Beach is a great place! Everyone there is super nice including the permanent residents! All the bathrooms are clean including the portable ones! There is a clean beach like spot that leads to the San Joaquin river, and it's crystal clear! The park it well kept! They have camping and rv spots! With COVID it was super easy to check in and out! We were able to leave things outside even overnight. I would definitely recommend Turtle Beach if you want a peaceful non-city vacation but still hop skip and a jump to anything you will need!

Unfortunately, the same attention doesn't seem to be given to basic cleanliness and maintenance. The public restrooms and showers were unacceptable. A paper towel sat on the bathroom counter from the time we checked in until the following day, making it hard to believe the facilities were cleaned during that time. The showers themselves were dirty, but the worst part was one of the rubber shower mats. It had been flipped over, exposing a thick layer of black mold covering most of the underside. Seeing something like that in a shared shower is both disgusting and raises serious questions about how often these facilities are actually cleaned. The park does have some positives. The grass is in decent shape, and compared to many RV parks in the area, there were relatively few stickers for our dogs to pick up. Unfortunately, the overnight sprinklers ran long enough to soak not only the lawn but also my outdoor mat, even though it was sitting completely on the concrete pad outside our RV. In the end, what I remember most isn't the rules or the grass--it's the dirty showers and moldy shower mat. If management spent as much effort maintaining the facilities as they do enforcing park rules, this would be a much better place to stay

Large park, we have 43ft class A. they said they'd give us a large pull thru but it was almost $80 for the night. spot not big enough tow vehicle barely fit! Too many large trees so DISH satellite didn't work. Wifi didn't work, no cable so no TV during bb playoffs! Husband had to get out his ladder to cut said trees as they rubbed top of motorhome.

It was from Resident Manage Karen Minard. 209 835-1455. We discussed back in slots at $65 per month and pull through slots like the one I already have there for $75 per month. We also discussed the reasons why I was locked out of the facility for the 4th time in a year. She blamed it on the plumbing and electrical issues going on there. I was told to come out late on Monday January 2 2019 which I did with boat ready to park it. I filled out the agreement and signed it. Only after I signed it did she state the charge would be $180. I asked how that added us as I already had a key and it should be $150. $75 for first and $75 for last. She said the price was now $90 per month and there is nothing I can do about it. For me this is very poor treatment of anyone. There was no mistake. We had a clear understanding in advance of the cost which was to be changed and the storage slot to be assigned before I moved out of my previous location and I showed up with my boat. This agreement was changed Again, after I showed up with the boat and after I signed it agreement NOT BEFORE!. I believe this is an intentional action by Morehead Park Management as I was dealing directly with the resident manager, designed to extort more than fair funds from the people who support their business. I believe this is a legal matter and they need to be exposed for their unethical business practice. Not knowing what to do I parked my boat trailer and went home stewing over how I had just been ripped off. On 1/3/2019 I SENT A COMPLAINT TO News 13 Call Kurtis. I plan on filing a police report and researching the law to find a way to stop this fraudulent activity.

It banged up half of the drivers side as I was pulling through and resulted in over $6,000 worth of damage. Management initially said there was no way the gate could malfunction. Luckily for me, there was a resident of the park that viewed the entire incident. Management relented and told me they would file an insurance claim. A mere 6 months later when they finally completed the process, their insurance company refused to pay the supplemental shipping bill for the RV repairs. I was left $600 short for repairs I had incurred through no fault of my own. When I asked management to cover the difference, they had their insurance company call me and threaten to take me to court! Additionally, I had several batteries stolen from my RV while is was stored here. The "security system" they insisted they would be installing was always a month away from completion. Of course they are "not responsible for any items stolen" while in their care. Thanks a lot Morehead Park for not stepping up. The park also smells constantly of raw sewage. Stay away from this place!
