This time we camped at Bass Lake, and it was my job to find a trailer rental company. EZ Campin was a gem of a find! Communication with the owners was timely and accurate, they even kept me up to date on the national forest's changing policies. We arrived at the Cedar Bluff campground (warning! Theft alert!), to find that our camper trailer was already being set up ahead of schedule. We also noted several other EZ Campin rentals in our loop and at the same campground. Quintin and Larry gave us the simple instructions, and everything worked beautifully and exactly like it should. The fridge was cold and ready to load. The awning was extended and the trailer was level. Everything inside was neat and tidy and fresh, with little personal touches that were neat to have. When finished, we simply cleaned up the best we could and prepared the trailer for their pick-up. They handled the dumping and hauling and all other aspects. We even payed the small extra fee for a generator, with gas, so we can run the A/C a couple hours a day, which also keeps the trailer's batteries charged, for use of lights in the evening. Fortunately our family has had experience owning an RV and renting RVs and trailers, so we didn't have to explain to the (now adult) children the facts that you have some limitations on how much water or electricity one can use. Conservation is the key. Overall, it was an excellent experience that I would recommend to anyone!

What a brilliant concept!…read more We had a week-long family vacation at Bass lake, with some of us coming from San Francisco and some flying in from Texas. We got a 25 foot trailer for me, my husband and my parents. Close quarters, yes....but it worked out fine. The brilliance of EZ Campin is the fact that they set up the trailer at your campsite before you even get there! We arrived after driving for ~4 hours with a majorly loaded car to a nice trailer all hooked up, including the generator, a canopy, and a nice big mat as well as an already-cold fridge and freezer. The particular trailer we got was almost brand new and the kitchen was fully stocked. I've doubted what "fully stocked" means before, and packed a lot of my own kitchen stuff because of this....no need. They truly have all the kitchen stuff you would need. The (brand new) coffee pot didn't work for some reason, so we just called them and they gave us a new one. The only drawback is that my 6'1" husband couldn't fit in the bunk beds, on the dinette sleeper or on the couch pull out - they were all too short for him (and my parents got the actual bed!). He ended up using one of the bunk bed pads and sleeping on the floor. Worked fine, but a bummer for him to be sleeping on the floor! I would definitely use them again.

The "loop" that the shuttle travels through covers a lot of what a typical tourist needs to hit. The stops are easy to spot when you look for them while on foot, however, I have to say the map is a bit difficult to understand. If you are looking at the map, never been on the shuttle, and are trying to figure out which way to go (especially the two stops at Camp Curry on opposing sides), it's a bit confusing. However, ride once, circle back to where you were before the shuttle takes you to where you actually wanted to go, and you have it figured out. This shuttle is definitely a great way to ease traffic in the park, and to reduce pollution!

Bus #22003 - I pulled over to look for directions in a safe EMPTY parking zone where I wasn't in…read moreanyone's way (this park is DEAD, no tourists, no tour buses, no tour vans, no crowds or lines anywhere at all). The female driver (allegedly to me they looked female but I understand she could be a male with long hair and female voice) of this bus - middle to geriatric age, late 40s-50s, brunette hair past shoulder - who was standing in the middle of the road doing nothing came over to scream at us to get out of her way in a national park? We asked her which direction was the way out, she said I will not help you and don't care get out. She then jumped on her bus, slammed the bus door and angrily stared at me and peeled out the bus. A state licensed plate white jeep vehicle drove by a few moments after and was totally apologetic and helped us get back on the route to the village.

But after our three day, two night stay I am super happy with our experience there! Our check-in process was a bit slow everything else made up for it. The bathrooms are kept clean and stocked! No quarters required for showers. Behind the restrooms there is a nice "kitchen" area with pots and pans and other random kitchen items that are commonly used and shared. Every camp space has a fire pit and table which is a great guarantee. This place was a gem to find! It has four beautifully furnished rooms with super comfy beds. The linens and bedding are top quality. Everything was clean and fresh. We had the Yosemite Room in the back. It is large and has its own bathroom and is really quiet. The front room also has its own bathroom, plus a balcony that faces the Hotel Jeffrey and "downtown" Coulterville (about 10 buildings). The other two rooms share a central bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are fully stocked with everything you need to make breakfast. You can put your own food and drinks in the fridge. Its basically like a house upstairs. Again, everything is in nice condition, clean and ready for you. Fernando pays attention to every detail. He lives downstairs. He owns the antique store downstairs and the saloon across the street. So he is always available. Coulterville is a cool little spot at the southern end of the wine country/gold rush country of Highway 49. And I was beyond super impressed that when I went over every commonly used space and item, my Clorox wipe was beautifully white and clean. JUST AS IT SHOULD BE! It is very small, but my husband and I just needed the place to sleep and shower and it was absolutely perfect for us! Service at the front office was great! Super nice and super helpful with tips and suggestions about the tiny town. AC was great!!! Actually super great had to turn it down. And I also loved that the door was accessed through a code and not a key so it made checking out a breeze! We didn't have turn in a key! Which was great for us because we were leaving at 5am to head to Yosemite. I definitely recommend this place, for convenience and cleanliness. I wish all motels were like this place. If I could give this place 50 stars I would. I read in an awesome book called the Go Giver, that good businesses give an equal amount of value for the money, great businesses give more value than the money paid, but truly exceptional businesses provide better services and value than ANY amount of money can buy, and while you might be able to stay at a fancier hotel, you will NOT find better service, attention to your needs, and overall value in quality services rendered than here at the Gold Country Lodge, with Ken running things. I also just figured out that they have a clean bubbly hot tub here! I didn't even notice that last time! Not only were the rooms still clean and comfortable, the showers had great pressure, the coffee was fresh ground Starbucks, the AC worked great, the view was amazing, but the man who makes it all work with wit and humor, Ken, has been upping his game! We knew there was food available to buy here, hamburger, chicken, you name it, for grilling each night since this location isn't near anything, but Ken really took care of us above and beyond even last time! We called a few months ago to set up the reservation and he gave us an *amazing* price, and when we arrived not only did he have burgers, steak, chicken pasta salad, and tater tots for us, he also bbq'd it all for us, served us, provided EVERYTHING, and just made it SO amazing! And he did this ALL THREE NIGHTS! And for such an amazingly reasonable price I'm not even going to mention it here. It is service and customer care like this that creates value that far surpasses the cost, and that kind of amazingness creates lifelong loyalty and friendships, which is what I'm glad to have with Ken now. There's a ton of stuff I didn't mention because I can't remember it all, but the super nice lady and other man in the office were amazing as well, tending to every need of my wife, babies and myself, down to the smallest detail. I mean even when the tub plugging switch was stuck he came over with his tools and took it apart and had it fixed in 60 seconds, right after serving us steak, FROM HIS OWN CATTLE RANCH. Yeah, I'm serious. This guy Ken is a cowboy and rancher that raises his own Bulls and beef cattle right down the street from here. What can I say? You have NOTHING to worry about coming here to stay, except maybe when you have to go home, because then you'll only have store bought feed lot beef to eat and no cowboy to grow and BBQ it for you! The cottages are clean, peaceful, and relaxing. They offer a full kitchen with all cooking supply needs, minus the spices. The grounds are spectacular and serene with beautiful plants and birds all around. You can sit out on your front porch and gaze at the beautiful stars at night. The bed is firm, which isn't my favorite but I have slept well after having our bottle of wine! They are very attentive and stayed up to wait for our late arrival. I would recommend this place!!!

We spent two days at The Oak Pond Retreat and immediately wanted to come back for longer! The second time around, we decided to stay 5 days at The Emerald Escape! The homes are beautiful, spacious, and stocked FULL of amenities. Although both homes were located in quiet neighborhoods and felt secluded, they were very close to grocery stores, restaurants, thrift/antique stores (the best i've been to), and national parks/trails! Every room felt neat and clean. The bathrooms, carpets, and the jacuzzi at our second stay felt well-maintained and hygienic. The wi-fi was great and the TVs were super easy to navigate. There was also never a worry of running out of towels or clothes because of the washer and dryer! Great homes ran by even better people. Gailyn and Adam have the best team. They're very warm, welcoming, and inviting. They're consistent in letting you know they're there if you need help and/or have any questions. They're reliable and quick to respond. They are very personable and genuine, something rare in today's world. They really do care about the guest experience and homeowners, which has been truly refreshing. I can't recommend them enough. If I get the chance to buy another vacation rental in the area I'll be ecstatic if they decide to manage it for me.
