very welcoming, charming place. Met with the owner who showed us everything we needed to know to make our stay comfortable. Clean place with country style decor. The owner told us about the grand plans they have to make this a goto rest stop for travelers in the Yosemite area. the common kitchen area was perfect for us as well as other guest to mill about while making breakfast and have a cup of coffee. The room was cozy, clean and big enough for myself, husband and hidaway bed for 10 year old. wifi had a good connection and the price was spot on. I would recommend this place to anyone who does not want the tourist trap stays of Yosemite. A little gem that I wish all the luck in the world to.

You are staying in someone's home, not a motel. So, you have to act like a houseguest. If that bothers you, the B+B experience isn't for you, but if you like personal care, quiet, and romance, with everything you could possibly need to be comfortable, tucked away in the panormamic Sierras, then you will LOVE quaint and rustic Penon Blanco! I felt like we were staying with friends, not at a hotel. Complementary beer and wine awaited us in our room after our long day. This is the type of caring detail that makes the B+B experience. Yosemite is huge... I mean huge, so map distance is deceiving. Roads are winding and steep, and you have to go slowly. But why would you go to Yosemite and rush? Take the time driving to enjoy the amazing scenery! It takes less than an hour to reach the heart of Yosemite Village, and it is a very enjoyable, scenic drive. Now, for the food....OMG it is fantastic! Home prepared with love, care, and pride to detail. Served at an impeccably set table complete with candlelight, silver, and fine china. This is not your usual hotel continental breakfast of sickly sweetrolls and cold eggs, this is the BEST breakfast I have ever had! We even had eggs benedict one morning! Fresh fruit, rolls, juice, tea, coffee, delightful and delicious!!!! What a way to start your day! Margie's cooking made a breakfast fan out of this usual breakfast skipper! The owners are very present, but never obtrusive. They can offer all kinds of interesting and helpful information about the area, and are glad to, if you ask. This the the kind of B+B experience that makes others seem cliche and commercial. This is the REAL THING! It made our journey to Yosemite memorable and special, and we would return in a heartbeat for more of this romantic home atmosphere, Margie's fabulous hospitality and breakfasts...!Don't miss the chance to experience Penon Blanco for yourself!

We were able to hike in Yosemite using the YARTS bus system ($30 round trip) & came home to a freshly made bed & homemade cookies every night after hiking all day. Liz made us a delicious breakfast at 8:30am (although she did ask if we wanted it earlier) & we caught the YART into the park at 9:15- hiking by 10am. Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. We will 100% stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends.

The quaint, yet large (2,600 square feet) facility has four rooms and a back cabin of sorts available for rent each night inside the Stanislaus National Forest. Myself and three others stayed in the back "cabin" which included two queen beds, a couch, and a fold out cot. We were able to sleep comfortably and cook an excellent dinner with the full kitchen complete with plates, pots, pans, utensils, stove, oven, fridge, and even a microwave! Breakfast is included in the price of the B&B and includes foods ranging from eggs to waffles to cereal (and more). After a long 14+ mile day hiking at Yosemite, it was amazing to be able to cook a steak dinner, take a relaxing hot shower, and sleep on a mattress in an air conditioned room. I think this takes "glamping" to another level ;) In addition to the amazing amenities, another highlight is Larry and Marilyn and how friendly and accommodating they are. I wish there were more people like Larry and Marilyn in the world. So caring, compassionate, and full of stories! I wish we had additional time to chat with them more. Marilyn recommended several points of interest to us and we stopped at Rainbow Pool on the way to Yosemite which was well worth the pitstop, thank you Marilyn! Although Larry and Marilyn have only been hosting travelers at Yosemite Paradise B&B for a couple of years, they have opened their house to hundreds and hundreds of people. Take my word for it, this is a five star experience and you won't regret staying at Yosemite Paradise! I will be back!!!

The rooms here are decent, but I highly suggest trying to get the room with the two beds. The room with the single bed is a little small, but it was still comfortable despite me and my friend having to awkwardly share a bed. Larry offers a free breakfast every morning. Basic stuff -- cereal, waffles, etc. He cooks bacon for his dog (with oatmeal) which is a little annoying to smell the bacon and eggs, but having to eat the other stuff, but hey -- it's included in the stay and I can't complain ;). This guy has an awesome personality and is super welcoming. He warns guests about taking long showers and using a lot of water because of the California drought. There are some tables outside and a kitchen that you can use to make your own food. The atmosphere is peaceful and amazing. The place is about an hour outside of the park, so be prepared to do some driving -- but it's a great option if you can't book a place inside the park and very romantic if you're coming with a SO. Highly recommend this B&B!

We arrived to Sonora by way of Ebbetts Pass, winding down through crystal alpine lakes, faerytale meadows and boulders and forests that speak in quiet and ancient tongues. The pass opened upon amber grasses contrasted against lovely sagey-colored trees and verdant yet rugged vineyards. It turns out the Victorian-inspired Barretta Gardens is overseen with a care as golden as the hue of sepia-colored days gone past and motherlodes once legendary for their bounty. Yet breakfasts are as simple, elegant and memorable as any contemporary B&B can boast. The proprietors Astrid and Daniel run an inn as refreshing as the Moroccan mint tea set out every afternoon to greet us from a hot day exploring Gold Country. We found Barretta Gardens flexible and welcoming to our two boys as well. Our only suggestion is that if they choose to turn off each room's A/C while guests are away for the day that they would turn it back on in anticipation for their return in the evening. Baretta Gardens B&B is a rare treasure I hope more visitors to the area will mine for years more to come.

The staff were all great including owner Michael who was very attentive to questions we had. We've also stayed at another of his properties (The Victoria Inn) which was also lovely. This place is a cozy, green oasis in one of the cutest towns in America, and the value is incredible. They let us have the run of the place for the whole weekend while we hosted and set up. The staff made it feel like home -- such kind and lovely people. Breakfast for our wedding party was included. Anything we asked for, they made it happen, and we were able to control every aspect of the event: bar, catering, etc. Another perk I didn't anticipate was a 360 view of the venue from the bridal suite, which allowed me to keep an eye on everything while I was getting ready. The suite is basically an apartment, with a full kitchen we were able to cater our rehearsal dinner out of. Most of our guests were able to stay the weekend and walk to the venue from their hotels (they make it easy with their sister hotel the Victoria Inn and associated rentals). Our wedding was a dream that we're sad to wake up from. If this place calls to you, do not hesitate to book.

The place is super dog friendly, they even have a ranch dog on site to welcome your puppy. The main house is the bed and breakfast, and is decorated expertly to invite all who enter a charming and warm welcome. And while the trip into Yosemite National Park, with our reservation and $20 was a complete and total disaster, the time we spent in Groveland more than made up for it. The caretakers cabin does not offer the breakfast part of bed and breakfast, but we were still treated to home made cheese cake prepared by our hosts and it was just ever so tasty. While we were enjoying a lovely cross breeze threw the cottage, a guest puppy found us and invited himself in for a bit of a quick sniff before his mom found him with his new friend Bernie(that's our dog). Our stay was just wonderful. Just a thought, the upstairs bedroom with its queen and 2 twin beds (all done in very comfortable and warm décor) does have steep steps on the outside of the house, not a problem for us, but could be an issue for anyone who is mobility challenged. We were also entertain by the abundance of non-human entertainers, there were horses, a pig, and some turkeys tending to there newly hatched babies. Yosemite Rose Bed and Breakfast was perfect. The hospitality started even before we hit the road when I received a phone call from them. They asked when we might be arriving, and when I said between 9 and 10 PM depending on traffic, they said no problem and explained how we'd find instructions directing us to our room when we arrived. Further, they said they saw the note I made when I booked that we'd be leaving early in the morning, so they would pack our breakfast in a bag with our name on it and leave it in the refrigerator. Everything was exactly as they said it would be. We arrived at 9:30 and followed the instructions to our room without having to disturb anyone. The room was very comfortable with its own bathroom, outlets for charging, and good wi-fi. In the morning we had no trouble finding the bag with ample breakfast and lunch items and left without disturbing anyone. That evening the power went out in Groveland, but the staff had a backup power source kick in within the hour, and wi-fi never even went down. The shower felt so good after a long day of hiking. The next morning was similar to the first morning except we left our key in the room signifying our checkout (no need to wait in a hotel lobby line to close anything out). We loved our stay but lamented that we hadn't even begun to scratch the surface of all of the amenities, including a great breakfast if you stick around in the morning, coffee and tea and brandy available anytime, chess, pool, and piano options, great books and reading nooks, and a moving tribute to family devoted to each other and our wonderful country. I can't thank the proprietors enough for a weekend that my son and I will never forget. Someday I hope to return.
