Renting was easy and hassle-free. The agent even helped me find the most economical rental. He researched cost difference to doing two one-way visits vs. one two-way visits, along with discussing which fuel option was best for my situation. He was very helpful, professional, patient, kind, and proficient! I was very happy with the vehicle as well and had no issues. Returning the vehicle was also just as easy. The agent who helped with the return was also professional, kind and proficient. It was a very pleasant experience. Thank you so much! read more

My husband made a reservation online to rent a vehicle under a corporate account. He received confirmation that all was set and ready to go. On the day of the reservation, he received a phone call from Enterprise that they had zero vehicles available. My husband explained that he was already in town, alone, without a vehicle. He was met with a "sorry that's just how our online system works". This is wildly unprofessional. There should have been absolutely no way that anyone is allowed to make a reservation for a car WHEN THEY HAVE NONE AVAILABLE. This is not just inconvenient, they essentially left someone stranded out of town. And the company basically said "oops". I would not recommend this company. read more

Absolutely amazing experience here on 9/5. I needed to rent something as I was driving up to Merced from LA to sell a car, and needed a way to get home. I ended up arriving almost two hours early. Not only did they accommodate me within 20 minutes (still over an hour and a half earlier than my reservation), they also accommodated my vehicle request to the exact make and model. Staff here is excellent and I wish I'd gotten their names for a personal shout out, this is how customer service is done read more

it was Monday and they were busy but I had a reservation. the vehicle I got stunk and car smells like perfume and was not vacuumed out. It was filthy. I will be taking it back tomorrow to get a different vehicle. Both front seats had awful stains on them and who wants to sit on that? i've never been rented a vehicle this filthy! read more

We rented a SUV plenty days prior only to show up the day of and be told, so rudely, that they didn't have it, they only had a sedan and it was much less space. We specifically requested a suv or similar FOR THE SPACE because we needed it for our trip. They knew ahead of time that we would not have the suv, why didn't they call us? We wouldn't have wasted time in even going in and we would have looked elsewhere, seems like they purposely did that to make sure we were forced to get a car with them. That is absolutely unethical! I understand things happen, but they still had a suv at the lot, but they were "holding it for another customer who said they were on their way". When this situation happened with our rental from Budget, they called us ahead of time to let us know they no longer had the car we requested, but they UPGRADED US FOR THE SAME PRICE as the rental we requested. We will never be doing business with enterprise again due to their lack of customer service and shady practices. read more

Jason the manager of this Enterprise, as well as other branches within the area is an ALL-STAR! He addressed whatever issues I had with my rental and ensured I was treated with professional courtesy. They gave me a 2025 Ram Lariat and being a Chevy man I felt like I was cheating on my truck. He and the young man who is the driver to drop you off and pick you up are great assets to this company. read more

This is a great place to rent vehicles. Staffs are nice too. They even gave me a drive when I returned the vehicle.

I had two rentals after an accident. Brandon was very helpful, showed great customer service, and concern. :) The other workers were nice as well. The cars were clean and drove smoothly. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! Shittiest place to rent a car. The employees there act like they're dumb and can't comprehend and then the regional manager just as dumb. No one communicates and I repeated myself about 5 different times to different employees all within the same place. I was sick in the hospital with covid and they told me they didn't care that I needed to return a rental. The rental was being paid for week by week and it came up on the 30 day mark and they insisted I come in a redo the contract. When I let them know of my situation they started texting and calling everyone in my family that they could find on Google saying I stole their car smh. Stupidest branch and regional manager! Thanks for showing your business is more important than a human life! read more

I have rented from Enterprise for years with no problems ever. Even when I was traveling or renting from our local enterprise in Spokane, WA. I had reserved a car to pick up in Merced, CA. after i rode the train down and would be leaving on the trin again. So I had proof that I was traveling. When I arrived at the office to pick up my reservation there became an issue with being able to pick up the rental even though I made sure when I rented initially to make sure that it was ok to rent with only having train tickets showing my arrival and departure. I was told that it was a $200 deposit before if using a debit card and then was corrected at check in that it was a $300 deposit for the rental on a debit card. I told him that was fine. Then I handed him my WA drivers license and he told me he could not rent to me as I was from out of state. I explained that I had train tickets showing my arrival and leaving Then he told me I had to have a major credit card and that it would be an additional $300 deposit with a major credit card. When I have used my credit card I have never been charged a deposit of $300 on my credit card. He was rude with me and acted if I was not what he was saying. Luckily there was a lobby full of people in there or I would have argued with him and called corporate. Then to top it off the next lady next to me had an Oregon Drivers License and they rented to her without any issues. I will never use this branch again. Also so you know my sister has cancer and not going to make it and just wanted to spend the holidays with family. And I was one of the few who could drive others to see my sister. Now we have to make two trips to get everyone over to see her. I feel the guy helping was a grinch at this time of year and I hope you do not have to travel and be treated like you treated me. Enterprise has always been super fast and super friendly with their service. The cars are always clean. The other day we rented a car and almost immediately got a flat tire. terrible experience!! my wife's car got hit while parked and the insurance company scheduled a pick up, not only was there only one car available, but they said they would reserve a different car with a $50 deposit and would let us know that day, no call, no communication from them at all about a different vehicle also. Three days after they told me they would call, I called to inquire about it and I was put on hold for over an hour trying to talk to someone. no answer after the long wait, and no response of any kind from this place. my wife is 8 months pregnant and this car they rented us is so small she can't get in or out of it, not comfortable at all and the car has problems with a number of things. would not recommend to anyone!!! read more

I am not sure how I feel about my experience with this place. My car went into the shop on Friday due to an emergency and I needed a rental. I was so stressed out when I walked into Enterprise. The person who helped me told me he would take real good care of me. Before getting me into a Toyota Camry he asked me to do the walk around check with him where he mentioned that we were looking for anything that is bigger than a golf ball (which I laughed about all weekend with my family). I was so stressed all I could think was to get back to my classroom to pick up my daughter and go home. We finished the walk around and I left. The car spend most of the next 4 days in my garage. Otherwise, it was in the parking lot of the school I work at. Today when I went to return the car, the person who inspected it mentioned that there was damage to the car that was not evident in the walk around report that was taken. She showed me three different spots on the passenger side. I told her that nothing has hit the car and it's been in a garage or in a parking lot at the school. She informed me that things like this happen. Then we waited for the person who had taken the original report to come out and take a look at it. He comes out and says that two of the three parts were ok, but the small broken piece of the passenger side mirror was definitely not there or else he would not have allowed me to drive it off the lot. Did I mention he originally said we were looking for anything BIGGER THAN A GOLF BALL? Now as I wait for them to "call the corporate office" to see if they will be filing a claim with my insurance, I sit here feeling 100% cheated. I know for a fact that the car did not come in contact with anything in the past 4 days. I should have taken pictures of the car before leaving the lot. I thought I could trust them but that is not the feeling I had when I left the lot today. I will have to check my credit card to make sure they don't charge me more and will talk to my insurance in the morning to let them know what is going on. That is just a real shame! I was hoping to have a great experience renting a car from Merced Enterprise! read more

My experience renting a car from your company was appalling and the customer service level was so poor that I am compelled to write this review. Recently my personal vehicle was in the shop due to a theft. Thus, leading me to rent a car through my insurance coverage. On February 10, 2021, I picked up my car rental from Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Merced, California. A black 2020 Toyota Camry SE was rented out to me till February 26, 2021. First, your associate who did not care to share his name with me was not friendly or expressed any interest in wanting to assist me with returning the vehicle. Upon returning the rental car your associate took the keys and said, "I am going to check the gas level and mileage." He walked around the car without me and then proceeded to tell me, "I am going to drive it to the back", which he did. I thought this was strange as I have never experienced this before, however, with COVID maybe things are done differently. He was then gone for approximately 7-10 minutes. He then comes back and claims there has been damage to the car. He says the right alignment is off. I am shocked and dumbfounded by this accusation as I barely drove the car, mostly just to work and back. He shows me a picture of the "damage" however, I am no car expert and not really sure what I am looking at. The car just looked dirty to me (it had rain a few days prior and there was some dry dirt on the car). He insisted that I had hit something for this to occur. I am overwhelmed and shocked that he would accuse me of this as I barely drove the car anywhere and did not hit a single thing. He proceeds to tell me he needs to open up a claim and he would need my insurance. He took my insurance policy number down and then asked "would you like to pay for your deductible with the card on file?" Obviously, he is annoyed at me and swipes my card on file for $500. He sarcastically asks if I would like a receipt. I am still shocked and the whole situation feels surreal. I signed the receipt and left. In my gut, I knew this did not feel right. After speaking to several people regarding my experience at Enterprise, I feel your associate and the branch have handled the situation completely wrong. I am still not sure why he felt the need to drive the car to the back and be gone for the amount of time that he did. I also feel that once he has taken the car into his possession it is no longer my responsibility. He did not communicate or point out any damage while walking around the car before getting into it and driving to the back. I feel he took the opportunity to take advantage of a young girl who was by herself and knew nothing about cars. You have lost a customer and for the rest of my life I will make sure to never recommend your company to anyone I know. I wish I could give you a no stars!!! read more

Rudest customer service I've ever encountered! They had me waiting in 100 degree heat while I had my mask on and no one was inside so I assumed I could go inside. She yelled at me to go outside like the sign said which obviously if I would have seen I would have done so. read more

Horrible customer service. I'm aware that you have to be 18 to rent a car when you need one that's accident based, but someone who works for them told me I could still rent one. So we needed a car rental and our insurance had us go through Enterprise in Merced! They reserved a car 6 days in advance there, and when we got there at 4 pm the guys says we can't even get the car till 4:30! So I leave my wife there after paying for everything! They said the car would be ready at 4:30, I left at 4:20, not only did the wife not get the car till 4:55, it wasn't even the car we had on reservation! They down graded us to a lower car!!! If this is how they do business, wow. How are they still in business? I am not happy with them and I don't recommend them. So after I wrote this review, a gentleman from the main office from Fresno calls me up and asks me what happen. I told him and we hung up and within a few minutes I received a phone call from the Merced office apologizing for the mistake and asked us to return the car and they would upgrade us to a better car at the same price. So my wife went there and they did upgrade her to a very nice car at the same rate as we agreed on. I have to say I was impressed, we did not have any issues with the car or with the company here in Merced. Thank you for taking care of the issue and correcting the problem! You did ! read more

One more time Enterprise came through for me! The service, availability and quality of vehicles continues to be excellent. The value is great. After realizing Ubers/ Lyfts can't get on Lockland Air force base in san Antonio Tx. we decided to rent from Enterprise at the airport, which is not located at the airport F.Y.I. Enterprise was fast and efficient in having our car available. We were pleased they were able to accommodate us last minute. The only thing I was disappointed with was the cleanliness of the vehicle. They mentioned they did not have new cleaning equipment to get the vehicles up to par which we thought was strange. we ended up having to clean it ourselves not knowing who or what was all over the inside of the car. Other than that, the bus (every 5 minutes) that picked us up from the airport to Enterprise was fast, efficient, speedy, and he even placed our luggage out on the curb for us. The price was reasonable too @ $39.00. Military friendly: yes, show military ID read more

Great rental place. Nice new clean cars. Best in town. Don't go anywhere else. Don't mess with those sorry shabby places that don't even come close to the reputable enterprise. The employees are super friendly. They won't try to nickel and dime you either. We got a brand new 2019 vehicle with unlimited miles for a great price. I am so disappointed at Courtesy Car Rental, "Which I believe is related to Enterprise in Merced," When I went to the site. They were advertising Rent A Car Truck or Van Starting at $19.99 per day. When I spoke to the representative telling her about the advertisement they had on her site, she said that they are no longer running that promotion . So I proceeded to tell her that her company is false advertising. She told me that the promotion banners are old, and they are only on the building, but they are not actually offering the advertising promotion any longer .Is that crazy or what? Are these people thinking right? Does anyone out there know how to address this false advertising? read more

I just have one question for the Merced Enterprise where do you find your customer service??? horrible horrible i have never ever been treated so poorly in my life!!! very very incompetent!!! and rude not to mention Slow !!! we were there to pick up a car due to a car accident i called a week ahead to make sure there was a vehicle ready for my husband to just go straight to work no problem i was told! everything was ready, well this women had no idea what she was doing couldn't find our reservation! had to get out of line to call our insurance because she charged my husbands car $496.00 then i perceive to talk to the women and tell her maybe you spelled name wrong it is there in the system she pointed at the line and gave me a dirty look!! did not say a word to us I understand that people were returning cars it was memorial weekend. but for this women to be so disrespectful and not acknowledge us and help others and turn her back at me when i spoke. we will never go back to Merced Enterprise I would rather Drive 20 miles and go to Turlock's Enterprise read more

This is a busy busy location, and their cars go out a little faster than they come in. And so if you're not careful you can find yourself lost in the chaos. I got into a vehicle accident while out of town and ended up totaling my car, and arranging for a rentalthrough my insurance provider Geico, who referred me to Enterprise in Merced. I called Enterprise after confirming Geico sent them the reservation because i had lost my driver's license in the crash, and needed to know what I had to provide them to be able to drive. They told me, and I thought I was able to get what they wanted at DMV, but upon arriving that evening to get my rental, they wanted something else. They assured me they'd hold my reservation over until the next day. The next morning I again went to DMV to get what I needed, and then called Enterprise to get my rental. And was told that they wouldn't have a car for me till the next day. Mind you, they called much later in the afternoon probably to tell me they had a car, but I had already rented from another rental company. My opinion, this place is too busy to be able to provide any type of decent customer service. They should probabky hire at least a couple of additional employees which in turn would give their current employees a chance to breathe and be able to provide decent customer service. I won't try again to rent from this location, but don't neccessarily think everyones experience will be like mine. read more
