My 35 foot grand design 5th wheel was damaged in an accident and taken to Sundown RV Center. I used to get some work done there, but my last visit about a year ago was over $1100.00 buck and they couldn't fix much. Did pretty good on the sewer valve replacement though. Late I wanted a new fresh water valve and plastic cover replaced on a roof vent. They wanted over $500. No way! read more

Bought a class C from Chris. Liked that he was a veteran and it was good working with him. However some issues with the manager not being forthcoming about requests I made when spending 50K. Whomever cleaned my RV did a lousy job. And a few things I specially requested before delivery were NOT done. The supervisors need to hold the guys in the back accountable. read more

This review is for the service center. I have taken my C-Class RV here a few times. Once for brakes, once for roof repair. The staff are friendly, and the prices fair. I never felt I was getting ripped off when doing business here. The shop is small, and sometimes busy. The part selection isn't huge, but they can order most things. I have gotten parts here for DYI projects. Overall, this place is a good reputable service center for RVs. Would give 5 stars if they also did the engine work and maintenance stuff like tune ups and oil changes. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, last year I bought my fifth wheel from them, I've had multiple problems with the trailer since. Initially when I went to sundown they had said all their trailers go through an extensively look over and go through every appliance and make sure everything works. The first thing that was broken and had definitely not been gone through was the A/C had a hornets nest the size of a basketball at the top of the unit. It froze the lines when I'd have the ac on and completely broke. I had to spend over $3,000 more just getting a new A/C installed. Over the time more and more things became relevant that weren't working. The main thing though was the propane tanks on the rig kept popping and making a horrible combustion noise when I'd turn the water heater on. And has a leak somewhere in the lines, to where it leaks propane slowly. And another thing is the floor in the trailer was rotting in some spots under the vinyl floor. So I had to invest in new floors as well. The only "good" thing I can say honestly is they were asking 16,900 $ and I got them to take 11,500 $ but had to invest quite a bit of money into it. So it's a give take shituation. read more

Our awing was damaged during wind or rain. Not sure how the arm was bent but the awning frame was bent and wouldn't close. We took the rv into Sundown RV and found out later that just driving it onto their lot was going to cost us $300. labor ++. They contacted us about 2 weeks later with replacement estimate of 2K. What?? Then partial replacement, cost $449...then later, oh that was only parts add on labor, $7xx, oh and then additional labor for additional... Once our unit was there, we felt held hostage. Final charge was just under $900. for an awning arm replacement. We talked to the awning manufacturer company and could have purchased the arm for under $400. Seriously, don't expect a fair deal. Any repair/replacement you can do yourself is the way to go! read more

Happened to be passing through town and had a bad cord for my toad. Went in and bought a new cord and asked service if they could show me which wires needed to go where on the toad plug. They said that it would be $140 dollars. I told them I would be wiring the plug on the parking lot and I just needed to know which wires went where. Still a $140 per hour charge that they wanted. Would never stop by there for anything and will let everyone know that as well. read more

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!!!! I have visited Sun Down RV several times (I.e. parts, fifth wheel hitch install etc.) but never taken the trailer in for work. I had multiple issues with Best in Turlock (where I bought the trailer unfortunately, reference that yelp review) and wanted to give Sun Down the opportunity to assist me so I took the trailer in for some extended warranty work. Walter and Juan were extremely helpful and honest throughout my experience and advised me of issues they run into with these warranty companies. They did have my trailer for over 2 months but were pretty good about updating me. I did get a little frustrated after a while because of the time frames but they assured me they would have my trailer ready by my trip and take care of the issues with the warranty company. Well, they were right, it was done on the day I had told them from the very beginning and not only that, they cleaned it up and made it look nice and sharp for my trip. Thanks Sun Down!!! 1-20-2020 I checked for several months all the RV sales places in Sacramento, Roseville, Modesto, Ceres, and Turlock. I finally landed in Atwater which is 50 miles from my home in Riverbank. It was very much worth the distance for the service I have gotten from this company. From Purchase of the new trailer being custom built at the factory, to updates and delivery, it was the very best experience. Even now returning to the site for service I was never disappointed. They were fast and efficient. Their service department, while very busy, was always there for the same day small repairs, and there for longer repairs. They are the best ! Today, my trailer is at Sundown for warranty service. I get reasonable completion dates, an estimate of any charges BEFORE they start, and updates when my trailer will be ready. And their wait repair times are not very long. Their quick, and repairs are very GOOD. It's a long trip to get there, but their the best and worth the trip. THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS AT SUNDOWN RV ! Was good getting my camper in there fast but couldn't figure out the problem with my trailer they fix the pop out but for all that work cost 975$. They first told me it would be 500$ then jumped up almost another $500..... they are not to good at giving quotea. It's been a while since I bought my pop up from this dealer.... I was a new to purchasing an RV and this place totally took advantage of me... it's embarrassing. First of all, I bought a used pop up. I had my husband pick up the unit and the individual didn't even want to be bothered with showing my husband how everything worked in the unit. So we had no clue how anything worked.. then after signing paperwork and taking it home, before our first trip the whole entire lift system totally failed!!!! We couldn't even take our trip.. my whole family was devestated. When I called about this to the dealership it was basically an attitude of oh well, you signed paperwork and now your SOL. They also didn't fix any of the things they said they would before delivery. Also, after purchasing they charged me $2500 over high blue book... do your research before buying anything from these thieves... read more

The woman helping my husband and I today was extremely rude and unfriendly. I previously called for a twist on waste replacement valve and was very specific. Yes, I have two in stock. I get there and no, it is the inline valve. I asked her if she need to see exactly what I'm asking for and she replied with "if that will make you feel better!!" Excuse me!!! I explained she doesn't need to get a tone with me, and she said that she was busy answering phones. Well then you don't need my business if you don't know your products. I would prefer to use more knowledgeable professionals who know what products you are asking for before driving to their place of business. She is supposedly the manager. I would rather give them zero star. Drive to a larger town if you need products for your RV. read more

Sundown RV Center has one of the best service centers I've ever had to deal with. Juan took care of my trailer repairs on a short week (Thanksgiving) and had it back to me before I can back home. When some minor warranty work was needed on our Hemisphere, Walter, in service, was flexible with our schedule (as we were taking weekly trips) and had all repairs done on time as planned. We recently had an issue with our 22' TT in which the aftermarket black flush hide started leaking. We were living in it while caring for an elderly relative nearby so it needed to be done quickly. We had been looking for a good used 5th Wheel for six months. We live in Las Vegas, and found a great 2014 Montana High Country for sale at this RV Center. We had friends in the area who went and gave it a good look see. This was on consignment with one of their customers. This RV place went thought the whole rig and made sure all systems were working great for us. They also put in two new batteries for us. We are thrilled with our rig, got it at a great price too. Jesse in finance was fantastic to work with. We had a few changes in contract at the last minute, and he happily made the changes for us. All the crew were great from the front door to the service center were fantastic to work with. No problem with anything we wanted to get fixed after the walk through too. Just little minor things. They just plain wanted to make us Happy Campers! We highly recommend this small in size but huge on customer service RV Center to anyone on the hunt for the perfect RV. We had a great experience! Bad customer service. So called owner was lazy and barely got up to help. Work was done, it was very expensive and took a normal long time. When RV was returned they had done damage to the RV while fixing interior parts. They acted as if I was completely crazy that there was a chance that they had made this cosmetic damage, Even though I had been photo documenting the work. (They were the only people in the RV) I tried to show pictures of the damage before and after, but they acted as If I was totally off base. Not only did they Deny that they could have done the damage, they tried to deny that damage was done. They got so rude as to not treat me as human. They made no effort to apologize, or even accept there was an issue. It was a painful experience. It is so worth it to drive to Turlock or at least not here. read more

Poor Customer service. For a small town, this store acts like an internet store. No return policy, store credit only. They will not help with identifying parts. The staff behind the counter tries and is nice, but you can tell they hire family and have no idea what they are talking about. If you want help on a part they will hand you a catalogue and tell you to pick it out and fill out a form so you can't come back and say the wrong part was ordered. If you ask for help from the service department they will tell you it will cost an hour of their time to diagnose a part number. I see no reason to use this store. You might as well order from the web and get some kind of return policy. Do not support this store. No flexibility or customer service. read more

Service is way overpriced, for the quality you get. Don't expect service dept. to stand behind their work after you leave the driveway, that's where the warrantee stops. They may be fine with simple repairs, but anything complicated, or dealing with electrical issues, not a chance. To small an RV dealer to handle anything requiring a real technician. read more

They had our RV in in April of 2015 for for a minor kitchen fire but because it was plastic that burned it made suet and it was every where, lights, vents, ceilings walls and inside cabinets. They charged over $1,000 just to clean. About 21/2 months later they called and said it was done. We walked through it and none of the cleaning had been done except the rugs. What was suppose to be stainless behind the stove was aluminum and installed like a kid had done it , the oven was to small the hood was to small,my baking pan would not fit in this new oven. they caused damage to my wall up higher. That first time they said it was done. We were going on a trip so they said bring it back and they would fix it. They charged $984. for the stove and $468 for the hood the first time. Then they said they found a refurbished stove and hood that would fit. The stove was not refurbished it was clearly used and swear it was my old one and the hood the first time I used it the fan quit running. It was clearly used. They charged $1072 for the used oven and hood with no credit for the new ones they kept. So we get it back a second time still not everything cleaned.So we get it back and they damaged my wall about six " long and 3/4" wide. looks like it was gouged taking the ladder out they used to clean the ceiling. I have not had anything in there that could have cause that kind of damage where this was located. Altogether they had our RV about 5 months. Every time we got it back either things were not done or they screwed up something else . I would not let them work on a bicycle of mine. $7346.37 dollars later and still not to our satisfaction. He told us it would be better then new when we got it back. What a joke. read more
