My wife and I recently rented a three year old airstream and decided to write this review as we were very dissapointed in several aspects. We didn't expect the number of problems we experienced : leaking water under sink at elbow on day two; air conditioning non-functional on the few days we really needed it and re-set procedure from manual did not work; electric ceiling fans didn't always work; several screws released from cabinet hardware during rental; the stabilizer feet mechanisms were in serious need of grease and very difficult to operate to achieve level. Also you need very good insurance as even a pine cone dropped from the tree where you are camping can leave a mark. They will charge you for anything and these RV's don't get dents repaired, the entire panel is replaced at considerable cost. Our view is not Go Silver but Go Somewhere Else. read more

My family and I had a wonderful glamping vacation thanks to Go Silver! The trailer we want, plus tow vehicle clocks in at about $140k so we'd prefer not to discover we don't like it 10 months after buying. Cons: - Higher price point, but it's worth it. So not really a con, I'd happily rent again. My wife and I have been on an RV kick. Before Elite RV, we used an RV broker, and got an affordable 24' motor home. We got what we paid for. It was not up to date, nor was it clean, had broken drawers, unusable blinds, etc. If you've ever gone through this exercise before, you get an empty RV that you drive home, and you have to move into it, and I mean you need to move in everything. For a long weekend, this burns several hours of your first day of your vacation. When you're trying get on the road to beat holiday traffic, this can be a significant snafu to your weekend logistics. Elite RV is a way simpler way to go. We rented the 20' Air Stream Bambi for my family of 4. The RV was well stocked, and I mean very well stocked. When we called, their first question was: Do you want a drip coffee maker or a Nesspresso machine? If you've ever rented a house on VRBO, the kitchen equipment is a crap shoot. The RV had better pots and pans than I have at home, well stocked spice rack, fully stocked flatware, plates, cups, mixing bowls, cutting board, chef's knife. The sheets were high thread count cotton with better than hotel pillows. We're still newbies when it comes to RV's. Hitching & unhitching is complex set of steps, because the hitch uses sway bars which isn't straight forward to install and remove. Be sure to pay attention to when he Chris goes through the "delivery" presentation and check list. There are laminated documents for reference. Pro-tip: If you don't have a full hook-up, consider dumping gray and black water every couple days. We weren't being particularly frugal with the fresh water and waste tanks. Pro-tip: be sure that you have have a standard electrical hookup before you arrive. Take & send a picture of your hitch and electric hook up before you pickup. read more

Just got back from the most incredible family getaway and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience with GoSilver! My family rented the 20' Flying Cloud Airstream and our friends rented the 19' International Airstream....we were also joined by a third family who already owned an Airstream. We took them up Highway 1 to Gerstle Campground in Salt Point State Park...just north of Jenner, CA. The owners of GoSilver (Brian and Elaine) were so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They helped us decide which Airstream to rent and were super communicative throughout the process providing all sorts of tips leading up to our trip. Brian even researched the campground were going to in order to help us understand if we would need to "dry camp." Considering this was our first time renting an Airstream (or towing anything for that matter)...I really appreciated how patient Brian was in answering ALL my questions and taking lots of time with us during the orientation. I was also blown away by how thoughtfully equipped the Airstream came. I had assumed we would just rent the vehicle and we would need to supply everything else...but GoSilver had everything we needed such as linens, towels, pots/pans, chairs, BBQ, tools, etc....they even asked us our preference of coffee maker and stocked that as well. There was plenty of other tech (i.e., TV, DVD player, etc.) that we didn't end up using during our attempt to go off the grid...but it was there if we wanted to. My family of four (two adults and two small children ages 7 months and 3 years old) fit perfectly in our 20' rig...but it could easily accommodate four grown adults. I can't say enough great things about our Airstream adventure and specifically our interaction with GoSilver. I've considered purchasing an Airstream, however after renting one I could see the benefits of continuing to rent (i.e., not having to clean, maintain, etc.). My family and I had a wonderful experience with Go Silver. We loved the idea of buying an airstream, but then I found Go Silver and we decided renting it was that much better!! They were so responsive and helpful. They answered all of questions no matter how silly. The airstream itself was beautiful, clean and well stocked. We LOVED the Airstream experience--and Eleite made it really seamless. They provided everything, the hookup, cookware, linens, tableware, spice rack! Even a Nespresso Espresso machine (awesome!)--everything was high end and quality. It really was a treat! We had been on the fence about buying an Airstream and I would HIGHLY suggest that anyone considering purchasing, to go and rent one first. And not one of those cheezy "we'll bring it to your campsite place" either. You have to go through the whole process of towing, learning how to manuever, etc. otherwise, you will be very dissapointed with your $60K purchase. With that said....towing an Airstream is NOT for the faint of heart either. My husband has towed boats all his life, so this was not a big deal for him, but I could see how some people would be really scared to do this. Even so, the folks at Elite set us up with the towing hitch, the stablizer, lights, and gave a few test rounds to ensure we were comfortable. So, in sum: if you want to try out owning an Airstream, rent one from Elite first! If you want to just experience how fun an Airstream is, rent one from Elite--everything is taken care of for you! Chris and Nora were fantabulous. Their business merits 5 stars. We have rented an RV to go to Yosemite last year and it was not from Elite RV. The RV from another place was dirty and older, plus we had to stock the entire vehicle, move in house and home. BUT NOT WITH ELITE RV! We rented an Airstream because we are looking to buy one and we like to camp or glamp. The Airstream and their general inventory was pristine overall, our Airstream was immaculately clean, and I am OCD. Nora was my OCD twin because she had that Airstream spic and span. The cutlery, knives, all the necessities were already in the Airstream, plus towels, linens. You didn't have to pack anything but food and your own clothes, with toiletry, of course. High end pans, knives, my chef-y hubs was in heaven. AND they ask you if you want a cappuccino machine or a Nespresso. Amazing. My coffee drinking friends were appreciative to say the least. Secondly, they are professional and very responsive. They want your business, they are interested in providing the best customer service and experience. We just love this place. Lastly, they had a laminated checkpoint cheat sheet. How useful and smart was that. They also walk you through the entire process of hooking up the Airstream. We used our Audi Q7 TDI (Diesel) to haul the 20 footer. It was easy all around. Summary: 1. Convenient 2. Worth every penny for the white glove experience 3. Not a lot of hassle to go camping 4. Top notch customer service and a well run business 5. Awesome business owners with amazing integrity and care. The 25 foot Airstream was fabulous and perfectly equipped; the only thing I would have added is more pillows per bed. They supplied one so we stopped by our house and grabbed two more per bed as we are people who love to prop up and read a book at night. Everything else was perfect and it towed like a dream behind our Landcruiser. In South Lake Tahoe we camped beside a guy who is a wine bottler in Napa and gave us a $90 bottle of red. Woot woot. Newer owners Brian, Elaine, and their fur babies Hachi and Ellie were wonderful hosts. They provided everything we needed, even some board games which they graciously provided in response to my last-minute request. No need to bring a thing except your clothes and active gear for whatever you might be doing-they have everything well stocked and ready to go when you get there. We ended up renting the 25' International Signature, which was perfect for 4 people on a 4-5 day camping trip to Yosemite. Their fleet of Airstreams are very impressive and pristine! Elaine let me tour all of them before we left on our trip. I'm thinking my husband and I will be returning customers and go for the 19' International Signature in the near future. We really wanted to try out an Airstream. They were wonderful, told us where to rent a truck to pull it and made the entire trip possible. We were so impressed with the thorough information on using the trailer, they took their time to show us how to do everything. The trailer was fully stocked with everything you could need from tools to kitchenware, to bedding. It was wonderful to just add food, and clothes and we were on our way. The Airstream worked beautifully. Had some questions and I just had to refer to the laminated instructions to find the answers. My boys and I have decided to see as many National Parks as possible. And I have always loved Airstreams. On a whim we decided to see if we could rent and airstream and drive from SF to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Brian and Elaine made our dream come true. We rented the 20' Flying Cloud. It was in tip top condition and stocked with everything. We had NEVER used a trailer and Brian and Elaine spent the time to walk us through everything. We were totally self sufficient prepared for dry camping and hook ups and we did it all. They were also on call to help us pretty much 24 hours. I have since sent two friends their way. I was looking for a mobile green room for our event. I rented the 28' serenity. I had two bands use the trailer as well as a high level VIP guest and everyone loved it because it was so cool. The inside is clean and well maintained and it came fully stocked and Brian gave me a thorough walkthrough to show me how everything worked and it was super easy. I knew one band was playing right after the NBA final and Brian was also able to set up a satellite for them to watch the game on the two TV's. It was my idea to use an Airstream as a mobile greenroom but next time I would love to use them for a camping trip. read more

We participated in an equestrian event in October. Since we don't own a camper and I am not particularly keen on sleeping in a sleeping bag in a tent, we had Elite RV Vacations deliver their beautiful Airstream to the event. They were there promptly at the time designated with the airstream ready to go. Complete with accoutrement a person would dream of while away from home. It was wonderful. Plus they upgraded us and provided a 6-gallon water contained, just in case our water was running out. They also had everything hooked up, generator, awning out, mat with two chairs outside. We were really styling. We set up our portable corral in the small field not far from the Airstream, and that evening, after the event, we used their wine glasses and cracked opened a bottle of bubbly and watched the sun go down while our horses were peacefully munching away on their hay. We stayed 2 nights. It was like a four-star hotel experience! When it was time to go, I left first with the horses while my husband stayed behind and packed the porta-corral. It was unfortunate that the lights were left on too long and the SUV battery went dead. Chris was nice enough to stand by and call his Triple A who, after over 1-1/2 hours came by and jumped the SUV. That was beyond the call of duty. And Nora was so helpful and informative about making the reservation, and providing all the information and details necessary. They are both a first class act. The best place to try out an airstream. Great way to try before you buy as everything is all set for you. No need to bring anything except food and beverages! Awesome, clean, convenient and fun. We had a wonderful time, it was easy to tow and now we're in the market for one of our own. My husband and I were so excited to find out about this place! I think he originally saw an advertisement on Craigslist about Airstream rentals in San Jose. We were thinking about buying an Airstream but didn't know if we would truly like it or what size, etc we wanted, and this gave us an excellent opportunity to try one out. They had a 27 ft International which was what we were considering. So it worked out perfectly because they were able to rent us a tow vehicle that was completely set up to tow the trailer too. I loved their Airstream, completely fell in love with it and the tow vehicle too. They both looked brand new and were perfect. We had the best time ever on our 5 day trip up to northern California. Nora was really sweet to work with and recommended RV parks for us to stay at, and those ended up being great. They also allow pets for a $50 cleaning fee. Chris is the other owner and he gave us an excellent walkthrough of how to hitch it to the truck and all the info on how to work the trailer. It was a lot to absorb but he was really good at explaining everything and they also had these awesome checklists printed up so you can remind yourself of how everything works. We packed a bunch of stuff for the kitchen but everything was already there, including real wine glasses, paper towels, garbage bags, soaps, a broom, everything we needed and more. Renting an airstream is so much fun, and they make it really not so intimidating, it was really easy, and I even drove the truck hauling the trailer and it was really really fun! read more

This was our fourth consecutive year renting an Airstream from Elite RV. And this year we also had our friends join us. They rented a separate Airstream through Elite RV as well. As has been the case each year, the whole experience was excellent. Like the previous owners, Elite RV's new owners, Brian (and his wife Elaine), was very quick to respond and the level of communication was exceptional. The rental process is very straight forward and simple. We actually paid an additional fee to have the Airstream towed to our campsite. It's a very reasonable fee and it makes it so much easier for us, so we're so happy that option is available. As for the Airstream itself---it already comes with bedding, towels, plates, pans, cutlery, wine glasses, a coffee maker, etc. etc.... essentially "the works". There's even plastic wrap and tin foil. You really don't need to bring anything but your clothes and food. The Airstream was as clean and as spotless as the first year we rented it (We keep renting the same one because we like the layout for our family). I believe all of their RVs are less than 5 years old. Our friends couldn't believe how nice it was. They've heard stories about renting RVs through other companies and were skeptical. They were so pleased with their experience, they reserved an Airstream with us again, for next summer. I can't say enough good things about this company. If you don't camp enough where it would make sense to purchase a new Airstream, renting one through Elite RV is a perfect solution. Truth be told...I am writing this review for two reasons. First, I certainly think Elite RV deserves a great review. Second, which is a more selfish reason, is that we want to see them continue to be successful....so we can continue renting with them for years to come! read more
