I had a very frustrating and unprofessional experience at this branch while trying to apply for a…read morehealth card. I presented valid documentation showing my legal status in Canada (a PGWP application that allows me to work and remain in Canada while waiting for the actual permit), which is accepted by IRCC, my employer, and other ServiceOntario locations (as I later confirmed). But it was not good enough for the staff here. The employee "assisting" me insisted that I had to go to a different "headquarters" location in order for my documents to be valid for this application. Their manner was unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive, especially considering I was simply trying to access a health card. I went to a different ServiceOntario location the same day (not the 'headquarters' one). Staff reviewed the exact same documents and processed my OHIP application without any issues or questioning. After reading other reviews (on Google, not here), it appears that misinformation is REPEATEDLY being given at this location. This causes people to lose time, money, and access to essential services due to staff not being properly trained about their services and basic human decency. I would strongly suggest avoiding this branch and going to another ServiceOntario location where staff are knowledgeable and actually willing to help.

Prior to the pandemic, wait times were 1 to 1.5 hours. There was an online chart giving typical wait times throughout the week. Very useful. During pandemic times, most common services require an appointment but a few don't have appointments. When you arrive, there is a pre-screening person at the front. Because of appointments, there are far fewer people in the waiting area. You still get a ticket to wait but wait times are now 5 to 15 mins only! The waiting seats have signs to block off seats to ensure physical distancing. There are screens showing the called ticket numbers showing you which agent booth to go to. There are 43 booths. Certain booths are assigned certain functions. They accept debit and credit cards for payment. There is no free WiFi but part of the waiting area has access to the free TD Bank WiFi. Mobile internet is also available even though the office is in the basement. There are no customer washrooms but you can use the mall washrooms.

I have bad memories of lining up and sitting and waiting for hours on end for my number to be called. They have made the process easier now. You can fill out the form online and bring it to the passport office. This gives you free range to bypass the line. I've been to the office twice, and both times the process was relatively pain free. This location is pretty sweet, it's right on the subway line and it's fairly not busy. Go up to the third floor and the passport office is a short walk away. It's great that they provide kids with snacks, thanks to the donors. My kid doesn't attend these every week, but for the ones she has attended, half were good, half were not. Some activities were not well managed: There was a time where my kiddo won a prize from a bingo game, she took a Frozen puzzle from the table after someone put it down, but that person's mother took it from her hands. My daughter cried and the librarian wouldn't do anything about it but give her a different keychain. Another time, the website listed a limit to how many kids could attend a specific after school club project, but they didn't enforce that limit. Even though, my daughter was one of the firsts to go in, they didn't call our table until the very last. She was quite upset with getting only two of the tubes (and other kids at our table only got 2 as well) instead of 3, that other kids who came later were able to get. They should have given out the tubes as people entered through the door instead. There were fighting over the colours too of the paper that covered it - maybe the kids could cover the tubes themselves. Another time, on the website, it said a Taylor Swift activity for all. Turns out the activity was only for teenagers, which my kid was too young for. She left disappointed.
