For a government service bureau that you have to go to, this place is not too bad. The people are quite helpful and they try to be efficient. Even thought there is a bit of a maze to get through. Once you get to the third floor of the castle. Turn to your right and follow the signs. You will come to a fork in the road with two gate keepers. They will ask you some questions and if you answer honestly, they will give you a number. Then you go to magical waiting room and when you see your number appear you will know where to go next. That is about it. Then out you go. It really is on the third floor. Oh and picking up your passport is very quick. But do bring your ID. read more

Well ok. I don't know if being a fan would be appropriate of a rating for a government service. I mean sure I work for a government agency myself but really, there are always complaints about us civil servants. But as for this office, which I'm surprised no one has rated yet, this place seems to be running smoothly. The last time I was here was of course 5 years ago. So why didn't I do this in Edmonton? Well since I had the time off, why not get this out of the way. From where I'm staying to this place I think it took me no more than 20 minutes by transit. It's located about a 3 minute walk from the north entrance of Sheppard Subway Station. Parking would be somewhat of a bitch, but I guess it depends on where and what time of the day you go. I decided to go around lunch time. Passport Canada offers people to mail their applications, take it to a service centre or walk in. I chose to walk in and take the chance. Since it was a Friday, I expected a massive lineup. Well I was surprised there wasn't. First you have to go through a screening line so they make sure the application is correct. Then you receive a number to wait in the queue. I think in total it was about 30 minutes. I'm sure if one went first thing in the morning it would've been quicker but oh well, I was still pleased with the expediency of the process. read more

Another 5 years has lapsed and yet again I pay a visit to this passport office. Getting the 10-year passport, yeah! The location works well for me. It is TTC accessible stopping at Sheppard station. If you drive you can park at the Sheppard Centre, on the street or side streets. The office is on the third floor and there is a lot signage to guide you in the right direction. A lot of the passport forms are available online and PDF fillable. I filled in the forms before arriving and than got my photo done instantly at the Shoppers inside the Sheppard Centre the day of. I strongly recommend you get all your documents completed on advance and correctly. There are two lines you go through. The first line is to make sure your documents are correct and all information is presented. This took me 15 minutes including the lineup time, but the passport officer was able to check all my paperwork within 2 mins. He gave me a ticket and I proceeded to the waiting room. The waiting room has over 20 service desks, not all desks had a rep but most were filled. I waited no more than 15 minutes to get serviced. All-in-all I was in and out including getting my passport photo less than 30 minutes. Please keep in mind I was getting my passport renewed only. My saving grace was I completed all my forms in advance and I did them correctly. I also had all my required documents with me. The first line where the girl screen all the paperwork are nightmare. Once you pass that stage and get your ticket for the # , it pretty smooth from there. I am not sure why she act the way she act ... Maybe she been in the job too long and getting frustrated and took it out of tax payer I got all the documentation's and form signed , and for renewal should be fast. The building has a very confusing layout and it may be hard for persons of different physical abilities to navigate the building's maze-like interior. The layout reminds me of the game Snakes and Ladders. Once you do make your way to the 3rd floor there isn't a clear direction where to go. Your likely first stop should be Passport Reception. This is where they initially look over you photos and paperwork. Passport Reception will give you a number that you take to the Passport Service wait area. This is where the application is fully reviewed and application fee paid. Overall this entire process took 1 hour. read more

Returned today to pick up my passport. Procedures were quite easy and staff were friendly. In and out in less that 15 minutes.

Great service, went quickly even though it was very busy. In all it took 2 hours. I paid for express Monday and it was ready for pickup Friday. It's worth it to get the 10 year, for a extra $40 well worth it. read more

Great service ! PHOTO STORE conveniently located in the building (ON GROUND FLOOR) which was really great because, of course, I had forgotten to bring any! Once, I had the photos, I got through the whole process on 3rd floor in less than an hour, since there is a 'simplified' renewal which means photo does not need another signature, as they used to! This place really needs a renovation. Firstly the building is a bit confusing you can go up the escalator to the elevators on the left. If you go to the elevators to the right it's the wrong one. Then when you get on the right floor (3rd floor) you follow a long hallway to a preliminary screening area where one agent checks your papers & tells you if anything is missing. Then you get a number & go to a larger room where you can sit down while you wait for your number to come up. The cubicles that the processing agents were in looked ancient. The fabric panels were stained & dirty. The room was dark & claustrophobic. You have to pay attention to your number coming up because their alert system only flashed the number on the screen. If there was a notification tone it wasn't very audible. The good thing was, I didn't have to wait too long before my number came up. Also the processing agent was efficient & polite. Not the best location for passport services but they get the job done. Now they just need to get new cubicles & improve the layout of the floor. read more

Came on a Friday morning at 8am (when they open) and the renewal process took less than 40 minutes! The office is very easy to find, there are signs from the front leading you to the third floor and lots of arrows. The procedure is now two step - in first room where you go to get a number, the officer will check your documents to make sure you filled everything correctly. He even caught some boxes I missed! Thanks! In the second room, you wait for your number to be called. There were at least 6 officers there, very efficient. Im just glad it was such a speedy process I finished early enough to make it to work on time! read more

This location is my favourite for passport renewals. It's right beside Sheppard-Yonge station, so it's really convenient for public transit goers. In addition, the service is extremely fast! I came here around 2pm on a Tuesday and was out of there in 20 minutes! read more

I called Passport Canada before and received courteous, kind help over the phone. Then I went to the Yonge and Sheppard office for 24 hour passport renewal on a Tuesday mid-morning and it took between 1-1.5 hours with long ups which I actually thought was pretty good. The line was quite long and they process everyone fairly quickly. Also, every employee there was courteous and professional. I went the Yonge and Sheppard passport photos for $15 at 1 Elmhurst across the street from the passport office building only to discover just around the corner on Yonge at Print 2 Go shop they do passport photos for $5.99 while you wait. I didn't use them, so don't know the quality but they guarantee that if the photos get rejected from the passport office that they will re-do them free of charge, so probably equal quality for 1/3 of the price! read more

As I needed an updated passport asap I went to Yonge & Sheppard late in the afternoon expecting a massive line up after the long weekend and really thinking I might have to come back the following day. Not so! I had to wait for a number and then went into the waiting room to wait for an agent. My number came up within 15 minutes or so and I dealt with a very efficient and professional agent who took less than 10 minutes. I was impressed with their set up and processing as it expedited getting people in and out. I would definitely recommend this location to my family and friends. As for parking, I parked in the Green P parking, whose entrance is on Beecroft behind/beside the passport building and paid $3.50 for about an hour and 15 minutes stay. There is lots of space and you don't have to look or wait for street parking. You can enter at the back entrance of the passport office which was about a 30 second walk from the parking garage. read more

I wish I have read the review and come to this Office instead, as the staff here are so much friendly and helpful, unlike the Scarborough passport office. Over there at the Scarborough Passport Office, if you get a friendly agent, that is great, however, if you happens to get one who is rude, miserable and sarcastic, you will ended up being harassed by her over another half an hour after more than an hour of wait time. Then when you filled in an online complaint form, the Manager there will called you, but instead of apologizing on behalf of the department to the client, she will even lie and made all kinds of excuses for her employee, making you even more upset than before. No wonder the employees there behave like that because she let them get away with harassing the client without doing anything. The way they handle complaint is totally unprofessional. I was shock by this kind of bad management of the Scarborough Passport Office. This is so pathetic as all they do is to give the public a very bad image of the Government Services. They think they hold all the power in the world just because people need a passport from them, how sad ! read more

Came here to get my passport corrected. Long story short, I visited this location to have my passport looked at as upon receiving my passport I noticed that the photo was awfully dark (was not this dark prior to submitting). So I took it upond myself to retake another photo to bring to them to have it resubmitted. The rep that I spoke to initially said it looked fine and it should be fine. I told him , my facial structure is not clearly visible and honestly I don't want any inconveniences when traveling abroad, entering other countries . I expressed my concerned and the rep said there is nothing he could do . I asked to speak to the manager and she pretty much said the same thing but this time telling me it would cost me to resubmit the passport again. I was not happy that she suggested that because I was not willing to fork out another $160 to correct something that I believed shouldn't have happened in the first place. So knowing that paying another $160 was not an option for me, she advised me to go to Scarborough to have them look it over since they have the original photo. Honestly, I was annoyed at this point that as a manager she had no power to do anything. I drove to Scarborough, the manger there looked at it and said it was indeed darken after they scanned it. Finally, someone who understands. I am happy to say that I will be getting my passport in a weeks time. read more
