I dropped my car off on 9/15 for the next day appointment on a Tuesday. Monday I call for an update. Sadly, it was not one I wanted. My car is a 2024 with only 22k miles on it. Fairly new. They informed me that Thursday, they found it dead. No notification to me. Use the jumpstart button. Can't. We locked the car and can't get in. Bring an extra key. I only have a fob not a blade. It won't work. Yes it will. I drive up there 7pm at night. See? Don't work. Next day, how are we going to handle this? After several thoughts and ideas, a locksmith was needed to come break into my car for they do not store a break in tool kit in their facility. To continue, September 26, I requested the supplemental list of parts and labor after being told my job would be one day and only 2 1/2 hours. Why don't I have my car? List shows my bumper is coming from Bangor, ME 10/25. I called my Hyundai dealer, he could have a bumper from the warehouse in 2 days or if I needed one today I could get it. Thank you. I let them know. They stated no, it wasn't the bumper. It was the reinforcement beam that was going to be late. All parts will be here tomorrow. A few days later, I called to check in. I was informed that my car will be postponed several weeks due to my insurance company not approving the supplement or further work. I call my insurance adjuster, she states how I'm being treated is unacceptable. That the way insurance claims work is the open the job with the body shop. When the car is done? They submit the bill to the insurance agency to be paid. My insurance adjuster called Ben's auto body. I get a call shortly after. My car will be done by the end of the week. After that point my adjuster was working as an advocate between myself and the shop. Monday, 10/6, I received a call from Ben's auto body. They gave my car to a different technician who was faster and would get the job done quickly. My adjuster agreed that it would be done by Wednesday. 10/8, my insurance agent calls me and tells me my car is in for detail and calibration. I asked if I could have it tonight? She informed me I could call the shop and find out. There was nothing more that she could do. I call, to my dismay, I'm informed the technician working on my car has been out All week and my car hasn't been touched. Disgusted. Completely. Disgusted. All I want is my car back. 10/9 I get up in the morning and drive up to Ben's. My car is still in the position and spot it's been in for days. I took a picture to show a friend of mine. He noticed that an electronic control device with wires were left unprotected out in the rain all night due to the bumper not covering them. If, if it doesn't cause complications now....what will my bill be in the future due to water getting into it? Every shop I've known other than this one always protected the electrical. Epic fail. I've been in the automotive industry for over 30 years. Never have I heard so much contradictory statements from each service member yet, having no work done at all. To give me a snide attitude when I call. Such disregard for customer service and expect me to write a rave review? I think not. I will not recommend Ben's Auto Body or have interest of doing business with them. If you would enjoy losing your car for weeks on end? Being Misinformed, misguided and misled? Please, call 603-436-3115 Do better. 10/10- I got my car back with great hesitation, they wanted to keep it til Monday to buff out a paint blemish. No give me my car back. Ok. I get there and start going over my car. I'm not seeing the paint blemish? But I do see the trunk lid that was crooked and the taillight not sitting correctly weren't fixed. He offered to fix them. At what cost? How much time? No. I got in my car, turned on the radio and drove away with no looking back.

The loaner car provided was also a real plus. These are days when getting parts can take a long time and I was happy to wait to get such a quality job done.

    Don't use this shop. They're terrible at keeping you informed. One example is that they never…read moresent an estimate to me, only to my insurance company. It took multiple unreturned calls to the Body Shop and then calling my insurance company to find this out. For another instance, when I hadn't heard from them in two weeks once I'd approved the work., I called them. I was able to get through to the estimator, who told me that the part was supposed to be coming in that day, and that she would call me to tell me if it did. This was Wednesday morning. When she hadn't called me by Friday morning, I called her and left a message. I called again on Monday. When she hadn't called me by Wednesday, a week after she said she would, I went to the shop in person and got the information from someone else. When I went to pick up the car, over a month after I'd dropped it off for a relatively minor problem, they gave me a bill which was 40% higher than the estimate. I know sometimes things happened, but 40% with no prior discussion is unreasonable. When I asked the estimator why, she said that there were things that are sometimes one price, and sometimes another. She then said, "it is what it is." After that she said, "sorry" half heartedly but that's hardly an apology after what she'd already said. I will be calling my insurance company to tell them they shouldn't recommend this place any more.

    This review is long overdue, but it's grated on me so I need to get it off my chest. In 2015, I…read moregot caught in a golf ball sized hail storm. It dented up the top of my cab and hood on my '09 F250. I brought it to Steve because he had been by next door neighbor and I'd had him do work in the past which was excellent. He contracted out the hail damage to an outfit that specialized in hail damage. The hood came out good, but whatever they did with the cab roof, it lost all of its structural support. This was evident the first time I drove through a car wash. I thought the roof was going to cave in, and it left creases. I also had Steve replace my tailgate. When I tow my boat, I keep my tailgate down. Shortly after leaving my driveway, with boat in tow, I heard a bang. Once I stopped and looked it over, I noticed that when he replaced the tailgate, that he also replaced the support cables. The original cables had spring lock tabs to prevent the cables from coming off. When he put the new cables on, the spring lock tabs weren't replaced/reinstalled, so when I went over a small bump, both cables came off, and the tailgate hit my trailer ball and left a big dent. I brought it back, but he wouldn't make good on it, even though it was his fault. We all make mistakes. He should have owned up to it and fixed it, but he didn't. Pretty dissapointing service, especially for a former neighbor and repeat customer.

The GM, Pete, is probably one of the most patronizing unprofessional people I have ever come across. He is the reason why people hate buying cars. Right after I purchased my car I noticed an alignment issue where my car was pulling to the left. After several phone calls with the GM, finance manager(ridiculous, right?) and service, my car was dropped off several times over a 3 week period for them to finally fix the problem. After all was said and done I cancelled my service contract with them because I don't ever want to go back to deal with that place again. I have to add that once Brian joined them as their service manager my car was fixed promptly and most importantly, correctly. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

I am not disputing that there may have been issues at Key in the past. I wouldn't know. But I can say that now, in 2016, my experience was a refreshingly easy and honest one.
