It was pretty busy, but they kept things moving and I didn't have to wait long. Their menu is excellent, with plenty of options, including vegan choices that actually taste good (not just afterthoughts). Everything is well-prepared and enjoyable. The atmosphere has really leveled up in recent years. They've remodeled the space beautifully, there's now an upstairs with a bar, coworking areas, and comfortable seating. It's stylish, welcoming, and actually a spot you'd want to hang out in, not just grab food and go. My boyfriend and I shared half of each. Lox and Scallion Cream Cheese on Everything Bagel: My go to bagel at any bagel place and it was very good with a thick amount of cream cheese on it. The Peterman: Vegan. However, it felt a bit heavy in the stomach, and I personally thought it was a bit too salty. Very polite customer service So many options to choose from, and they help narrow down what you are looking for. Basically any craving you might have put on a bagel. A variety of drinks, spreads for your bagel. There is a seating area to enjoy your choices, and clean bathrooms. Located in a cute neighborhood. So, we were in Norfolk for the day and stopped by, I love a good bagel with cream cheese, and this fit that description. I chose a vegan everything bagel with plain vegan cream cheese. It sounds boring, but the flavor was awesome. I enjoyed it and look forward to going back next time I'm in town. My daughter had a rough visit this time though, she asked for a vegan breakfast sandwich with vegan cheese, and when we got it, it had regular cheese on it so she couldn't eat it. She was very upset, but when we turned the car around to go back, they were very accommodating, apologized for the mistake, and remade her sandwich. I was so excited to try Yorgo's today, and I ordered one sandwich, their So Cal. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the associate who took my order was very sweet, but the food would be a zero. The bread was not toasted as requested, and the ingredients were borderline rotten. I've never thrown away an entire sandwich, but it was inedible. The tomatoes were mush, the avocado was brown, and the turkey tasted like it had turned. It's a pretty expensive sandwich at $14, and that doesn't include a drink or side. Best bagels in the Hampton Roads area. They have quite a few flavor options and almost all of the bagels are vegan. They have sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch, and almost everything has a vegan equivalent. (The homemade vegan cream cheese is delicious and fluffy). What a wonderful place to stop by! I was staying near here and hit them up early on a Sunday morning. I was surprised how many people were out here this early. I looked at drinks while I was in line, and all the fridge ones had a lot of sugar, I'm avoiding. And so, I had to hurry and choose my food cause I was next and didn't order any coffee drinks. Oops. But I got a very amazing lox (smoked salmon) and cheese (they have 2 kinds of vegan cream cheese!) With tomato and capers (you can also get onions). It was sooo good! I was surprised how good the vegan cheese is. I think it's made from tofu. It's a lot softer than real, but wow so yummy. My sandwich came out quick and was wrapped up nice and tight. The store was nice and clean. Not much parking directly in front, it's also shared with the martial Arts place next door. There's parking on the street here and there, but I imagine it's hellish at peak Norfolk hours. I am on my way back next time I am in Norfolk! Still thinking about that sandwich!! read more

Long lines at Yorgo's was the hype worth it? I ordered the breakfast omelette on everything bagel. It had egg, spinach, bacon and a whole lot of goodness. On the outside, Yorgo's looks understated and rustic. There are some tables outside by the front area. Inside revealed a lot of space for seating, even stairs to a second floor like a mezzanine I would imagine (didn't go upstairs though so I can only conclude there's plenty of room). I love Yorgo's, I live very close. Today I went for a bagel with lox. Expensive but a lovely Sunday treat. I asked to have the bagel toasted, the young lady at the register also asked me if I would like it toasted. Yet, my receipt even said toasted, it was not toasted. Yorgo's is a Ghent classic and a neighborhood favorite. I can't even count the number of times I have run into neighbors, friends, and colleagues while getting my breakfast here! The everything bagel is EVERYTHING. There's lots of great vegan and non-vegan options - everyone can find something to love here! I love getting their pumpkin bagels in the fall and the challah bread too, and my mom always wants to get one of their cranberry bars when she comes to visit. Anyone who comes here semi-regularly knows that they've been doing something with the upstairs, and when we stopped by on Sunday for a post-yoga bagel we realized that they're finally done! THE SPACE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was expecting to find just a few more tables since the downstairs space is small, but it's also a bar! There's even office space and a small yoga studio for one-on-one classes with Kim, who used to own The Space Above Yoga studio. Ghent really wouldn't be Ghent without Yorgo's, and I am just so impressed with how they have redone the space to make it even more inviting than it was before.
