Had a yummy lunch here today, and for a summer Saturday it was pretty busy. They have an extensive menu with Chinese, sushi, and even Thai dishes; but once we saw they had lunch specials we decided to go that route. I got the sesame chicken and egg roll combo, which came with wonton soup and fried rice. You get a lot of food for your money, the prices are great. The soup was fresh and hot, as was the egg roll. I'm not a big rice person so I didn't finish that, but it was good and the chicken was tasty. I also got a fruit punch, which was homemade and refreshing. Love that they have a squeeze bottle of duck sauce on the table! All 3 of us enjoyed our food. We came here because one of my friends is vegan and they have vegan options, which can be hard to find. It's a big restaurant and there's plenty of lot parking, plus it's right off of 290 so it's easy to get to. Service was great, everyone was very friendly. Not sure why they have such a low rating, but we'll be back! read more

It's been years since I've visited Yong Shing's. I used to frequent here with friends regularly in the past when I was in my early 20s. I came here last night with my siblings and it was walk in/seat yourself. Many of the tables still had used plates on it and weren't wiped down. The side by the bar had more table options but several had reserved signs on it. For me, it's clear that it's under new management and things have fallen to the wayside. I will say that our server did his best handling the large groups that came in shortly after us. We ended up ordering pupu platter for 3, and shrimp fried rice. It was more than enough food for us to eat. Everything was pretty good. Nothing particularly stood out as great. I probably wouldn't come back here again. read more

Yong Shing Restaurant - Pupu platter for three - Chinese Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

Yong Shing is a small Chinese food joint in Auburn tucked away near the highway and the McDonald's. It's a decent place, but it's small if you're looking for a sit-down option. The hot and sour soup was good, and the appetizers were also done well. As Chinese in this part of Massachusetts goes, it's about average. Service was good. Our order was taken promptly and came out quickly, which was appreciated. read more

Food and service was very good. I'll be going back. And would recommend to friends and family.

Karaoke is really good when the DJs aren't singing every single song. but the chef here be slacking. I used to love the beef teriyaki here. Now it is too inconsistent . One minute its hot and delicious then the next its cold and taste like a weak attempt to reheat it then serving it to customers. I advise be cautious when ordering the beef teriyaki here. Overall they get 3 stars. read more

Wonderful service, lousy food. And I've never been to a Chinese restaurant that doesn't give you rice with the entree. Pay extra for rice? No way. I had Sweet & Sour Chicken. Very bland coating on blah chicken and a red sauce with no flavor. Very disappointing read more

Back to the rollercoaster ride that is an inconsistent business ... I have had wonderful American-style Chinese food here the past two times I ate here, so I am (once again) updating my review. If the food was on par with the last two times, I'd rate 5 stars ... but you never know what you are going to get. Could they be using different distributors different weeks? The restaurant itself is kind of a late 90's/early 00's style vibe. Inside there is a small dining room and then a very large lobby and bar. The bar is where most people eat. They have bands and karaoke (which I contend is one of the worst inventions known to man) so it gets a little loud and rowdy in the bar. The clientele are pretty much the same type you'd expect if you had an issue with your plumbing ... the guy who would show up to fix it looks like the crew sitting at the entire 12 seats at the bar. While in the past, I have had dry and tasteless food, my last two visits have brought very plump and tasty chicken fingers, perfectly coated in rice flour. The beef teriyaki sticks were incredibly tasty and sort of crisp around the edges and moist inside. The eggrolls were flavourful and stuffed with mostly cabbage but had a little pork flavor inside. The boneless ribs were soaked with grease ... but once wiped off, they had a BBQ type of taste and sweet. Their hot mustard will singe your nose hairs ... which is great. It is super hot and perfect. The duck sauce isn't anything special but goes well with the food. Crab rangoon was cooked well, although maybe just a tad dry and bland ... I didn't get that sharp cream cheese taste. Their combination platters are very hearty and priced well. In this day and age, no prices seem to surprise me at restaurants. This is a genuinely filling meal for $16 or $17 ... if you told me 5 years ago that I'd be paying over $10 for a combo platter at a Chinese takeout place, I'd say you were crazy. Now $16 seems like a bargain, sadly. I am sure in no time, I will be updating my review with 2 or 3 stars ... but the last two times I went, I'd call this the best Chinese food I have tried in Central Massachusetts. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! This food is horrible, all apps where dry and overcooked, the dishes were vomitous. I went here today and it had been a little over a year ago the food was good. The pineapple shrimp was literally fried shrimp with cold pineapple and coconut milk splashed over it. The service was horrible, I don't know what you did Yong Shing, but you really f@cked up! Stay away! read more

We had a private party with the buffet. It was great about 14 16 choices.everything was hot and delish.

Sadly the restaurant has gone downhill with the new owners. the food isnt terrible it's simply not worth eating there. There are only 2 professional employees the bartender and a young Hispanic hostess. The food is bland, some of the sushi is improperly defrosted (doesn't mean it's unsafe) The hostess working the other night proved her past experience if any was a fast-food cashier or lottery ticket expert she didn't understand customer service. Again sad , very sad read more

I had seen an interaction with two workers one named Lola who's 19 and she was very very disrespectful to her coworker who was older to her. I want that young lady to be fired because I have also seen her interact with customers rudely and is always on her phone. read more

Went in on a Thursday night, was busier than I expected. Four of us. Food was ok. Was shocked to see they added 20% tax on the bill since we were a "large party". Then I saw they calculated the tip on the total including tax. Pretty sure this is against mass law. Never going back read more

The food was ok nothing special. Ordered a cup of egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was a little on the sour side so I added a little soy sauce and it tasted better. The restaurant is nothing fancy. Spotting events to watch and lottery info posted for those who were playing. Wings, eggs rolls and beef broccoli with steamed rice. It was ok. read more

I wanted to try this place for years but never did, finally decided to take my son and now it's my favorite Chinese place nearby.

Apparently they added 20% tip automatically (if over $100) without any notice anywhere on my bill. Fcuk this place!

Great service, addy is one of the best bartenders in Massachusetts!! Mai tais are phenomenal

Got take out for Xmas Eve and it was wonderful tasting food but the prices are on the heavy side. Always had good meals. The restaurant is on the big side but I e ly had take out as I never ate inside. read more

Food was better than the last time I was there. I can't speak to service since I did takeout.

Food: - I hear word that this place has unclean shrimp, and fell off after the rapture started. After reading other reviews, I was not about to order here, I'll wait until after the rupture is over. Service: - the service was very desperate for us to come back, and clearly showed that they have not had any action in months. Definitely wait for the remodel to be completed before stopping in. Ambience: - under construction. It looked nice though. The construction gave me feelings of home. read more

Food is excellent. Some of the best crab rangoons around. We ordered the Pu Pu platter for two and it could easily feed four people. Had to get some pork fried rice, which is always fresh and unlike many other establishments around. The orange chicken was the highlight of this meal, crunchy chicken drenched in the delicious "sauce". The best thing about eating in is they give you a squeeze bottle of duck sauce, no feeling bad asking for more bc it's more than enough right there at the table. read more

Great sushi. Kareoke is always fun too on Friday and Saturday. Def check it out for yourself and ignore the old bad reviews.

The place had problems a couple years ago with my allergies but I think they might have changed the staff because they were very good with my allergies the other day. The pork friend rice is delicious and so are the fried shrimp. I also like their beef teriyaki. I haven't eaten at the restaurant in years because I do take out most of the time but it still looks the same inside. read more

Great restaurant, amazing food and staff is very attentive. Highly recommend and will be back soon!

If you're in a rush order take out. The bartender/waitress was to busy trying to get a patron's information to give him a massage at her second job. Took longer to order than normal. The food is always good but service here is getting worse. Please get new bartenders that will do their jobs read more

Overall, not bad! So, I'll break it down. Food = 4 stars, Ambiance = 3.5 stars, Hostess = 4 stars, Service = 1.5 stars. It's a Monday night, the week that most students return to their classrooms. Very few diners at 7:30. Waitress comes over to take our order, never bothering to ask if I wanted lemon in my water or not. And, my husband didn't get the lemon he wanted. We ordered the Mini Appetizer combos, letter E, which included boneless spare ribs, chicken fingers, beef teriyaki and crab rangoons. All were delicious, and the ribs had a smokey, grilled taste, which we both liked. These came out quickly, except we had to wait for small plates and the pot stickers we also ordered hadn't arrived with its garlic sauce (best I've tasted). For our next course, we order Moo Shi pork, and had to ask for the plum sauce. The waitress didn't even know that these come with sauce AND pancakes, which we waited more than 10 +++++ minutes to arrive, and another waitress had to tell her to go check on them. Meanwhile, we special ordered a beef dish with pea pods, bamboo shoots and black mushrooms, on a bed of peking crispy rice noodles. This was very good, however, the brown sauce was a bit too thick for me, and very salty. Where are our water refills for those tiny glasses they give you (same size as a cocktail - by nature and experience, American-styled Chinese food is loaded with sodium). Keep the water coming, my friend! Service was not only slow, our waitress did not seem to know what the dishes were, and when we asked for her to check to see if our combination would be okay with the chef, she just stated, "I don't know!", rather than a more positive answer like, "let me check and get right back to you!" Every time she said, "I'll be right back", I playfully stated to my husband, "I don't think so!" We were waiting while she walks by chewing something. She later admitted that she had forgotten to put the pancake order in. At least offer a free dessert or removing an item off of our bill. That would have gone a long way. So, she got a poor tip, and we left unsatisfied by the experience. If there's ever a next time, we'll order take out. read more

Yong Shing Restaurant - Sushi! - Chinese Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

This is one place I always visit when I go "home". I heard they changed ownership recently though I'm not sure how true that is. Good news is that the food still rocks! The crab Rangoons are my FAVORITE! I will say that they have changed the shell since my last visit but the filling appears to be the same. They have the best chicken teriyaki hands down, it tastes like it's flame grilled. We also enjoyed chicken fingers, pork fried rice, and chicken lo mein. A good meal was had by all. read more

Biker bar ambience. Very loud and raunchy. Average food. Average service. Nothing special

my husband and I went here for my anniversary because we have heard good things about this restaurant. We were absolutely appalled by the service. Our food came cold and my husband's dish had hair in it. We spoke to a woman with brown/auburn colored hair who claimed she was the manager. She claimed that there was nothing she could do about the hair and his food. Then she told us we still had to pay full price. On top of that I went to the restroom and there were dead flies all in the corner of the bathroom. There was no toilet paper and the odor was awfully disgusting. Do not go here. read more

All 4 items we ordered were horrible. One we even returned it was so bad! Beef and broccoli the beef was so thin and tough that's what we returned. The picture is the scallops. Only 5 over cooked scallops and we called it a bowl of peanuts! The lobster sauce was so greasy there was separation. And lastly the crab Rangoon should have been called sugar delight! So much sugar in the cheese mixture and of course no crab! read more

I am from out of town and visited this place this evening. I was very disappointed. First, I had to search for the hostess, nowhere to be found. I found someone sitting behind a counter, then they got up, came around and asked me if I was going to the bar or the restaurant. I said I wanted to sit in the restaurant portion. Then someone took me without saying anything and I followed. The waitress? Non talkative, rude. Gave no helpful information. It's a shame that this lovely restaurant had no professionalism. It was also all a La carte, and therefore, expensive. $24 for an order of chicken chow mein and an order of fried rice. read more

I am horrified at the quality of food. I've been going to Yong Shing since I was a child (I'm 37), and without fail every New Years Eve for the past 20 years I'd get takeout despite the crowd.... I will never go back after the food we got tonight. $60 for szechuan beef with vegetables, general gaus chicken, vegetable fried rice, chicken fingers, and flat noodle chips. The beef was fatty and tiny chunks(always makes me think I'm not eating beef....) and the "vegetables" consisted of onions and a few carrot shreds(bok choy, broccoli, water chestnuts, zucchini, baby corn?); the rice was burnt-looking and also lacked vegetables(and no fried egg!); The flat noodle chips clearly came out of a bag and were not made in house.... Even the duck sauce was bad! Come on! You paid over a million dollars for this place... you didn't get the recipes? Yikes. Even the fortune cookie had bad grammar. (I included that on the noodle chips. The "chips" used to be nearly twice the width of the fortune cookie paper...) I hate to complain so much, but it feels like it couldn't be any worse! Beef with broccoli/vegetables is something I have eaten since I was a small child. I just can't comprehend how you could take a good menu and completely botch it. read more

The food here used to be wayyyy better. First I ordered the chicken wings (honey siracha flavored) and the Chicken Yu Hsiang which were both listed as spicy. The chicken wings weren't very spicy and the Chicken Yu Hsiang was not at all spicy. The Thai basil rice with chicken was not listed as spicy and it was very spicy. I actually loved the Thai basil rice with chicken. It was sooo good. I would definitely get that rather than the fried rice every time. The chicken wings were okay. The seasoning was a little much. And like I said I was expecting spicy and it was hardly spicy. The chicken yu Hsiang is not what I googled. Said it was supposed to be in a spicy garlic sauce. This looked nothing like what I looked up and there was zero spicy. I wonder if the cook knew what he was cooking? The karaoke there is good. The quality and clarity of the microphone is great. The bartenders do an awesome job when it's super busy. I'll def be back for more karaoke. read more

Havent been to yong shing in a few years, Just came home with some take out. Wed. 6-26 24. 3pm. At one time this was our favorite , i thought i would try them again, Its an odd time 3 pm. Not very busy at all. Only 4 other customers, 1st. An order of chicken wings , Should be simple, however these may have been cooked yesterday, ive never seen such a dried out wing. 5 wings cost 10.95. I threw them out, An order of special fried rice. We have followed this restaurant over several locations. Our experience was truly disappointing. Our waitress was poorly trained at listening and never added to our initial order of drinks and pork fried rice. We needed the manager to correct the order. The PFR had a distinctive scent and burnt hot oil smell and taste although the rice was cooked properly. The beef teriyaki was flame charred which may look enticing, but charred meat is also tough and dry! The sweet & sour pork was INEDIBLE! Under cooked batter over tough pork cuts. We left all the dishes there, sadly we will never return. I'm read more
