We where promised a site until mid October come to find out they over booked the site we where on and moved us to the bowels of the campground right beside a very busy bridge over pass it was so loud my dog would shake. We decided to pull out due to many things at the end of the day they tried to price gouge us at the end with about 35 days left. When I told him I was leaving his comment was oh is the price to high and then he went on to say in front of his mother in law that I look like I have money. We enjoyed the restaurant that was there but they also bailed out. I would not recommend this campground to anyone we miss the old owners.

And when I got off, I went to retrieve my keys to leave, and I was treated as if I was a moron when I tried to explain that I just had given her a fob, not a full set of keys. She treated me like I was a two year-old idiot and was very sassy with me and again with her long snarl of a face. We stayed at Ramblewood Cabins and we're extremely happy that we chose them. We met the owner and his niece that works there and they were the nicest people. They answered all our questions, and we had many because this was our first time staying in a cabin and our first time in that area. They were very helpful and happy to answer the questions. We stayed in Red Spruce 10 and loved that it was away from everybody else, but their cabins at the lake looked beautiful too. If your headed up to Pittsburgh, NH I would highly recommend staying at Ramblewood!

The site is clean, well-maintained and above all quiet and peaceful. The pool is just right - as are the outdoor showers and bath house. We're booked for next year and will share more photos. We have a Roadtrek Van and also set up a screen house (we call it our living room). Previously we had fires at night but it was kinda warm so we didn't indulge. Another favorite thing to do is to take our morning coffee (or our eventing cocktail) and sit on the chairs overlooking the ocean. If peaceful wooded experiences are for you, this is a great deal. Bonus in that it is close to Rockland and even Camden for even more fun.

However it's been sold out to a corporation and as it's typical they are only after the $$$. You can not pre book for the following year, and the have a season camp manager, who although very nice has no answers to anything other than call the 1-800 number. We met many ppl over the week we were here and most of them repeat travelers who agree this may be their last year due mainly to the attitude and corporate hospitality, aka none. It's a shame, this was a nice family feel and accommodating camp ground. Our family have been coming here for three generations. The campground itself is pretty much unchangeable, the amenities could be upgraded and spruced up, but we come for the feel of the grounds. The cold corporate feel it's already having is making us think twice sadly.
