I love the studio and the instructors! Everyone is so kind and welcoming and the workout is challenging but amazing.

Injury on day one, locked out on day two - zero flexibility or care for new members. I recently signed up for a trial membership, but after my experience over my first two visits, I will not be returning or converting to a full membership. My very first class set a terrible precedent: the instructor advised students to "lean into" painful stretches, which directly led to me injuring myself. Today was supposed to be my second class back after taking time off to heal that injury. I took a 20-minute walk to get to the studio and arrived three minutes past class time. The doors lock automatically after two minutes, which I understand in principle, but when I knocked, a staff member came to the door and flatly refused to let me in. Turning away a recovering student over a three-minute delay (especially after making the effort to walk there) shows a complete lack of empathy and customer care. To make matters worse, while the staff member offered to waive any late penalties, they couldn't even figure out how to process it in their system. I have since emailed management directly to request a waiver of any penalties and to immediately cancel my recurring membership, which is set to bill tomorrow. Given their rigid policies and total lack of client support, however, I'm certain they won't even entertain the request. Between unsafe instruction that caused an injury and an absurdly rigid locked-door policy, this studio has shown a total disregard for student well-being. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its members. read more

Took a trial hot yoga class with a friend's guest pass - Yonder did not disappoint! If you're not into hot yoga, this isn't the place for you, but don't knock it until your try it! Actually quite enjoyable and a great way to get a good sweat session in. Our teacher was excellent, he was super energetic and helpful when adjusting forms. It was a bit difficult for me to catch onto the moves at first, but if you went often, this would not be an issue. Changing area and bathrooms are very clean, space is respectful and nice. I signed up for the trial month here and have been very happy with the experience. Given the at the classes cost about $20 as a one off, if you are evenly mildly curious about hot yoga, it makes sense to give the trial a go at just $40. The instructors are, for the most part, I think very good at this location. That being said, I've only been to one other location (Inman Park) of this business, but I like the heat level (hot enough without being too much) and good lighting and ambiance wise (although some ppl might prefer windows). It does get busy here and they pack the space in those situations. Beyond the heat, this is a real work out with a lot of good body stretching, core work out, breathing practices, and the typical yoga instruction with a good mix and balance of it all. The instructors I think also do a good job of offering both modifications and challenge type options for all types of yoga practitioners. They have specifically said a few times "each yoga learner is on their own path" which I like. The idea experience of working out at home in your own and watching a video and not having the heat is really incomparable so I do think there is value here. I don't love the traditional applause at the end of each class. You also have to pay if you don't come but I think that practice is fairly standard and encourages commitment/follow-through. You can find towels there (for a fee), mats (included but you might prefer your own), blocks, straps, and all of the normal accessories needed for practice. Finally, I haven't used them but showers are available on site, which you might need given how sweaty these classes are (it's kind of the point). I have personally found with the heat that I'm able to gain quite a bit of flexibility and often feel rejuvenated both mentally and physically after these classes. I'm till not sure if I will continue on for the normal price of around $150/month as it will depend on my availability and ability to use the pass for it to be worth it since it isn't cheap. It has made me more curious about yoga in general and continuing on in some way, shape, or form after this. read more

I used to practice at Yonder's Inman Park location before it closed a few years ago, and loved the sense of authenticity and community that was cultivated there. Unfortunately, my recent experience at their new Midtown location left me feeling like that spirit has shifted. The focus seems to have moved away from fostering a true yoga practice and more toward maximizing profits and hurrying people in and out, with classes now feeling impersonal and overcrowded. read more

Amazing new studio over in the Midtown. They have really out done themselves with this space-- it's truly gorgeous! Two studio spaces, private showers, ample space to get changed/store your items are really icing on the cake for the Yonder experience. Just as with all their locations, the instructors are incredible and the classes are challenging, but not overly difficult-- the perfect work out! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful, so even if it's your first time trying it out, don't be scared to go solo or into it knowing nothing more than downward dog. There's a real sense of community at Yonder, so you won't feel out of place no matter your pace. As always, I love the lavender towels they give out at the end of classes and my experience showering off before hopping on the Beltline right out back (so convenient!) was great. They had quality hair dryers and a bag for my sweat soaked clothes. I will say that you might want to arrive a little earlier than normal because the parking lot can be chaotic and packed, but that's to be expected in this area of town. Mats and towels are available at the front desk if you need! Cannot recommend enough! read more

Classes so hot you will be in a pool of your own sweat 10 minutes in without doing anything vigorous. Despite the studio temperatures rivaling that of Death Valley, Yonder does not offer complimentary small sweat towels but does offer two complimentary lavender/eucalyptus oil cold towels at the end of class..? If you are unable to make a class or totally forget-- be prepared to say bye to $20, regardless of having a membership. They will generously *only* take $15 if you cancel within 4 hours of the class. How nice! You must book your classes through their website or download an app. Grateful that I am not forced to download yet another app. I have just discovered it is possible to accidentally double book yourself without knowing-- which should not be possible in the architecture of the booking system-- and you will get charged for it, even if you show up. They will not give you your money back for an error that is made possible by their software. In what world would anyone purposefully double book themselves for one class? My first class was with an instructor who spoke so quickly and robotically, without pausing for breath, that I had no idea what words were coming out of his mouth 85% of the time-- about half the class seemed lost as well. I am not new to yoga and had practiced 4x a week for years prior to this studio so I am familiar with the vocabulary of yoga. Several people would look around at each other to see exactly what on earth they were supposed to do for the duration of the class. The instructor told the class that feeling pain was a good thing and to lean into it, which is extremely dangerous advice and a great way to encourage people to overstretch and injure themselves. Red flags. Culty hot yoga vibes. Their redemption is a recent class I went to where, thank God, the instructor encouraged everyone to use blocks and straps...and maybe lay off if they weren't feeling ready for something. Can't wait for the day a yoga studio opens that isn't 10,000 degrees, $1,000,000 a month, and profit hungry, but instead encourages alignment and mindfulness vs competing for who can do the most advanced poses, the most chaturangas, pushing themselves into exhaustion and pain to be #1. Overall, Yonder Yoga feels like a reflection of the hyper-competitive, self-destructive, consumptive, capitalistic western dogma we live in. read more

It seems that Yonder Yoga has gone the way of corporate yoga studios - focused on packing in as many people as possible to classes, charging for everything, yet having the pretense of a community. It reminds me of the airlines - the seats and space around you keep getting smaller and the prices keep getting higher. With a way too hot environment, an institutional feeling in white box rooms, keeping the rooms nearly dark and packing people into classes. - there is nothing relaxing, renewing or reinvigorating about the experience. Full classes can be where there is probably less than 5 inches on each side between people , instructors tend to trip on water bottles, people's feet and cannot even see what people are doing. Given that this location has 2 studios, packing people into 1 studio, while the other is empty suggests even more about keeping costs low and profits high. Too bad as some instructors are good although too many new instructors are left to their own devices way too soon and all in all - unless you are an advanced yoga practicer who does not mind being cramped - not the place to go. I joined with at the $40 new member rate. My expectation was sort of neutral. After my first candlelight yin class with Laura, I was hooked. I've taken 5 classes since joining and all have been amazing. It's a super clean facility, staff is exceptionally courteous and very helpful. I recommend this location and Inman Park- these are the only two I've visited. read more

Yonder is an absolute favorite of mine! Midtown location conveniently located next to Trader Joe's and has overflow parking if it gets too hectic with shoppers. The studio is peaceful and classes are the perfect amount of challenging with the best instructors you could find. I recommend yonder to anyone that wants to try hot yoga or seasoned pros. read more
