Maybe the lights were a little harshly bright, but otherwise a fine place to dine. We didn't get too many things, as we stopped in more for a finisher for the evening than full meal (we'd come from a party with small foods). We ordered a shoyu ramen and a dragon roll. Interesting note on the dragon roll, it has a sweet potato interior. This led to a distinct flavor from other rolls I've had in the past, and a smooshier texture, but a good roll nonetheless. The ramen was mostly a delight. Sumptuous broth, the egg was not too hard nor soft, and almost all the ingredients were perfect. Which I usually avoid that word because it's too subjective, but it seems to fit here. Major exception is the chashu pork. It was overcooked to the extreme. No other word for it, these dried out circles of meat were thick and chewy, and soaking them in the broth couldn't save them. Sad. Otherwise, some of the best ramen I've had since leaving Japan. The only other note I'd have is I just wanted some tea, and had to order a weird tea concoction to get it. Sometimes you'd just like an oolong tea, nothing fancy. I recommend this restaurant, overall, and hope you enjoy it too.

The server/hostess was very abrupt in manner and seemed almost annoyed with us for being there. Everything was sticky: the menus with crumpled pages, the tables, the bathroom floor. It had kind of a crummy cafeteria vibe with drop ceilings and crappy laminate tables and 80s middle school tile floors and stacking chairs. I'm normally all for a hidden strip mall gem but this was not it. My partner ordered a spicy roll combo and asked the server if they were spicy/crunchy and she said they all had the panko crunch in the mix. What he got had zero spicy and zero crunchy. The rolls were minuscule, sloppy with a tiny chunk of fish in the middle and nothing else. The yellowtail was super fishy and tough. He didn't even finish his meal. I ordered two special maki and they were both sloppily presented. The server never cleared a single plate from underwhelming appetizer through the meal. She came through regularly with her noisy Rubbermaid cart with peoples' meals on it, even if it was a single plate one-handed carry and the lower shelves of the cart were empty and could have housed dirty dishes. And the pièce de résistance was it was wildly overpriced - perhaps some of the most expensive sushi I have ever had and I have had grocery store sushi that was better. Then I came home and was in the bathroom for literal hours after my stomach started feeling dodgy after eating. 1/5 food 0/5 service -20/5 ambiance Just absolutely not it.

Their menu is straightforward, very easy for people new to poké, and includes options for all tastes! Even if you don't want raw fish, as is traditional, there are plenty of meat, veggies, etc. options here. The staff was welcoming, asked if I had ever been there before or had poké before, and were eager to answer any questions I had. I ended up getting one of their standard tuna bowls, with a couple of small substitutions to suit my tastes. This was very easy to do and the staff was happy to accommodate. The portion was very large, and the prices matched the sizes but were reasonable. The bowl was amazing, with rice, lots of crisp veggies, spicy/creamy sauce, and fresh tuna. The ratio was generous and balanced! They did not skimp on avocado or other toppings. I also picked up a spam masubi at checkout, which was delicious. Right after checkout, they had chopsticks, forks, soy sauce packets, napkins and anything else you needed to grab-and-go.
