Upon my arrival I was warmly greeted by Beth who owns the studio. There are two classrooms for barre, the first one she showed me was quite big and scenic with an outdoor view while the second was smaller. Beth explained the area a little bit and then I changed to get ready for my class with Stephanie. Stephanie was such a kind instructor and walked me through each step of the movements we were doing from the warm-up to the barre itself, I felt more confident as much as it hurt so much on my first day. I had so man helpful classmates too explain what to do when I got lost which was so nice. It's all about the movements. Those movements were small and big but they really did the job I was looking for in a fitness studio. Finally, after the 60 minutes we stretched and talked with instructor to get to know the studio and pricing a little bit. They offer a child care area but I don't need it right now. They even offered me a great discounted rate to join and I said I would think about it. If your looking for a challenging but do-able workout try barre, you having nothing to lose trying something new!

I chose the Yoga Loft on a whim, but mostly because of how close it was to my house. I had attended my first class at the end of December and ended up choosing Abby's gentle yoga. That class is what led me to stick with the Yoga Loft and continue my practice to now. The environment is very soothing and calming, and puts me at ease the second I walked in. While I haven't had a class with all the instructors, I've had at least one class with majority of them and there isn't one I would not recommend. They're all dedicated, caring, and have their unique quality. I also love the mix of classes -- about a month into attending classes, YL offered a free total body conditioning class. This is now a regular class and one I attended. So now not only am I more relaxed with yoga, I am becoming and feeling stronger with TBC! I can't recommend this studio enough -- and as someone who just started practicing yoga a few months ago, I can assure you this is a safe place to start!

I went in again in January and the person at the front desk said nothing was on file and had me fill out another form. I was told a manager would call me and no one ever did. I was again billed in February. I called and reported them to my credit card company and I called GoYoga, having to leave a message. Well, guess what? They billed me for March, too. I participated in a hot candlelit yoga class and it was hot! The vibes were nice, it seems like pump essential oils through the room so it still smells pleasant even though it is so warm. Also, it was in the evening and was a great mix of stretching, moving, and slowing down at the end of the class. I hope to stop in again!

I went to the flow class, which was great for beginners or just to get a good stretch and still sweat/ get a slight workout. The Studio was warm, but not hot. The temperature was nice for the class. I had Ali as instructor and I thought she did a nice job with explaining poses and taking us through the flow from pose to pose. I am glad i have a studio so close to my house!

My new favorite place for self care! I came here last year for a Yelp event, and had such a great…read moreexperience, I always wanted to come back. When I finally had a month without going out of town I signed up for the $10 intro month for new clients. This is such a great deal since each class is $10 plus. You go twice and it paid for itself. The yoga was challenging and the room was hot. I splurged on a thick yoga mat and non slip towel from Amazon so that I was prepared. I signed up for 26 and 2 which is a hot yoga that incorporates 26 poses twice. I went at my own pace. When I felt I needed to sit, I just sat and breathed and did not try to overdo it. I would say that the heat does make you stretch a bit more than without. I did not realize my body could bend the way it did without injuring myself. The feeling afterwards is exhilarating! You start off standing for half the poses and then you get to lay down for the rest. It ends with a breathing exercise and the best part is when she lets you meditate in the dark and hands you an ice cold lavender oil towel. I absolutely love it! I think this is for everyone. There were beginners as well as advanced, while some just layed on their backs for the sauna effect. Pooja is the owner and instructor and her voice is so soothing but still very persuasive to push yourself. Every time I leave the class, I'm at least 10 lbs lighter from sweating. I feel so accomplished like I did something good for my body and my mind. Self care is not Selfish, it's mandatory. When I drive my 25 mns. Back to my house all I can think about is when can I go back? I need to book again.

The space is practical in how it's set up and I loved how open it is. So many Pilates / Yoga studios in the area are missing this aspect! I didn't expect the level of intensity to be high but it was a great burn! Katie is great in instructing breath work and the exercises, which I appreciate. The room was quite toasty, about 98-100 degrees F, which was great bc I prefer a class like this. My only critique is that the playlist wasn't my favorite and was a bit sleepy but not a big deal. Overall my experience at Union Yoga Studio is a 10/10! O, also! I forgot to mention that the community here is incredible & diverse!! I was observing the interactions between the other attendees and wanted to call this out. Always a plus to see this.

After that, a bunch of us went to Atlas Tavern for lunch - I got the apple butter chicken sandwich (it was $15.75!). On my way home, I stopped by PLEIJ Salon + Spa and talked to Matt - he says they're the best in Columbus! Then I saw my dad before heading home to chill.

The owners were nice and informative about the benefits of the salt cave. I personally didn't experience any changes that I could notice but one person in my group expressed that she could feel her sinuses draining so if you have bad congestion then this place is definitely for you. I will try this place again when we get closer to seasonal allergy season because I have bad seasonal allergies.
