Oh yeah, baby, I'm coming out of Yelp retirement to write this review. I have attended nearly 100 classes at Yogatree, so I hope I have qualified to write a review of this studio. Today I was left very disappointed by the studio. I bought a 20 class pass a year ago (c.f.: have attended nearly 100 classes!) -- at the time, I didn't know that the class passes EXPIRE AFTER ONE YEAR! Well, I suppose you can guess what happened. I was abroad for six months in the previous year, so I didn't get the chance to finish using all my classes before they expired. When I visited the studio to ask if they could take pity on me and my expired classes, since I was out of the country for most of the previous year, I was told that the policy is that they charge a $100 fee to "reactivate" expired classes. Now is probably a good time to mention that the 20 class pass, which I was not told would expire in a year when I bought it, was over $500. I'll let you judge whether you think these policies are appropriate. Regardless of whether you think they are or not, I should say that, before writing this review, I looked all over the Yogatree website to find any evidence of these two "policies". Maybe it was my fault for not knowing? Well: I could not find a single mention of the $100 reactivation fee ANYWHERE on the website. I do have to credit them for listing the class pass expiry date... AFTER you have purchased the class pass but not anywhere before payment!!! I wish I didn't have to write this review -- I have met some wonderful teachers and enjoyed some great classes at both the Bay/Dundas as well as the Richmond/Spadina locations. But you cannot have "policies" that people aren't aware of until it's too late. read more

This YogaTree location is larger than the one at Richmond and Spadina, but the quality of the instructors, The cleanliness, the amenities are similar. I had a hot yoga class here and was pleased with the level of instruction and the speed of the class even though I was a beginner. Same with the other location. They provide free tea and lemon water to enjoy in the lounge area. You can also purchase yoga mats and other yoga equipment here. read more

I have a subscription to the live stream yoga classes offered by Yoga Tree. As I write this review, I am waiting in frustration for the Zoom link to open. This happens with some regularity. When the system works, the classes are brilliant. But when they don't, it is frustrating -- the opposite of calm. And good luck trying to connect with anyone to get an answer. And it's not cheap. I wish I didn't get the month trial because now I feel like I have to use it, otherwise it's $60 down the drain. The only good thing about this place is the pretty facility. Otherwise: - studio is NOT hot. It is heated yes but it's not 38C, if you enjoyed Bikram yoga and it's heat / humidity levels this is much much weaker, there is a draft coming from the windows. Teacher walked around saying how hot the room was and i looked around and barely anyone was sweating. - reception staff is unfriendly, they never greet you or say bye, they seem fed up and unhappy. They also give you waiver after waiver to sign. - Hot room gets packed, class I went to was full, it's a very big room, I couldn't see or hear the teacher so I had to copy other people in front of me. The teacher didn't seem to care. - Overall no atmosphere, classes are boring. There is so many better studios out there. read more

I went today for a Hatha class. Studio is spacious, clean, staff was friendly, I liked that they have lockers with the code where you can leave all your stuff and not worry about it, the locker room was also great, equipped with everything you might need. So that's the plus size. Teacher was also lovely lovely girl. Now on the down side, I would like to say that there was no atmosphere in the class. For my liking, it was way too slow and even a bit boring (probably more suitable for beginners). The worst part however was the air conditioner that was on on a full wack. Went for a free session as a member had an invitation. Was so impressed upon registering that they use a white board like registration form that saved trees!!! Love it. The staff is friendly and the area is incredibly clean. The yoga teacher was good but not the greatest. Although she embodied everything I would want in an instructor physically. She was strong, she was serene and she was in amazing shape. There were no adjustments, no engagement and nothing that left me wanting more. After the class there is beverage station which offers a flavour of tea - yes just one (at least the day that I went) and it was a concoction I can't even remember but not for my taste buds. Moving on to the change rooms, it was clean, open and everything was easy to find. I did not decide to sign up because I looked around and realized what I would be paying for. I would opt for a cheaper studio with a better yoga instructor because at the end of the day I come for the yoga and not the tea or the facility. read more

This is the worst yoga studio in downtown Toronto, for sure. My friend and I arrived just before a yoga class at this location started (due to the unpredictability of life, we were not able to arrive 15 minutes earlier as recommended on the website). I've never been treated with such disrespect. At a YOGA STUDIO, nonetheless. The girl working the front, and her fellow staff members chatting behind her, regarded my friend and I with disdain as we quickly signed waivers before getting ready for class. I apologized to the girl for being a few minutes late - class was at 7:15, we arrived to the front at 7:13. She shook her head with disapproval and asked if I was already changed. I nodded yes. She directed me to the lockers and I, now feeling the pressure to rush to my yoga practice, quickly misplaced my token. I rushed back to the desk, asking for a new token, and the girl responded with contempt by shoving a token into my palm saying, "You know what, you are already so late for your practice you better just go in". All I have to say is that it is extremely counter-intuitive for a YOGA STUDIO to disrespect potential clients at the outset of their experience at the studio. Customer service 101: hire front staff that will kindly welcome clients. I entered my yoga practice feeling guilty and upset, like I had disappointed the studio by being a non-ideal client. I'll forever be regretting paying $20 for that drop-in session. Thank goodness that the yoga instructor was very understanding of my tardiness - I only wish that the whole studio would embrace that same positive, warm energy. I should add that another girl working at the front grunted at my friend who, not knowing where to return her mat, tried to return the mat to the front desk. The girl angrily said, "You return that back there". We didn't even know what to do with that response. Where is 'back there'? Honestly, nothing could keep me there any longer after that comment. If you like feeling relaxed during your hot yoga practice and interacting with fellow human beings at reception who understand that life gets in the way sometimes, then DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION. The location, facilities and instructors are absolutely hands down phenomenal at this Yoga Tree location. I had originally signed up for the 30 day unlimited yoga intro package for $40 in the month of December. At the time I was looking for a place that was convenient for me to become more physically active. Although I must admit, this was not the best time to purchase the pass because I was not able to optimize the full potential of my pass due to the limited classes offered closer to the holidays. Nevertheless, my goal was to try a variety of different classes within those 30 days to decide whether or not I'd be interested to invest more time practicing at this studio. On my first day, I loved every single moment of my experience. Entering this studio was like coming to a 5-star spa retreat, from taking your shoes off at the door to smelling the relaxing aromas in the studio. The receptionist was very informative and helped me register my 30-day pass. The change room was very modern, with built in lock combination lockers. They have a hang out area along with a hydration station where there is complimentary tea, fruit infused water and filtered water. The studio offers a variety of different classes and all of the yoga instructors I had were very knowledgeable and approachable. I attended 12 classes with 5 different instructors within the month of December. Each class allowed me to learn more about yoga through the techniques and postures that were taught. Below are some tips, the top 3 things I loved about this studio and a few recommendations I had. Tips: - In partnership with local businesses in the neighbourhood, your pass allows you discounts to places like bareburger, aroma, fresh, etc... - They offer free tea and fruit infused water - 10% off for students purchasing the auto-renew program What I love: - Environmentally friendly studio by minimizing the environmental footprint by using energy efficient materials like cork flooring, energy saving light bulbs and enforcing a no-paper policy - The community initiatives that help raise awareness and funds for multiple organizations - The pass allows you access to 5 locations (however some of the locations are very far from one another) Recommendations: Affordable class: This location is predominantly university students, which makes it very challenging for students like myself to afford this luxury. It would be great if this location offered the economy $10 admission for everyone with or without Yoga Tree memberships (like their Richmond & Spadina location). I loved this studio so much after my first day, I decided to sign up for the auto-renew program on Dec 21(fully paid) even though my last day was December 31. I didn't attend my first class in January until January 4th and learned that they had a promotion on January 7th for 50% off the 1st month of auto-renew. I was very upset at this because if I procrastinated long enough, I could have saved more money. After speaking to the yoga advisor, I had learned that I was not able to retrieve the difference back. The auto renew program is a minimum commitment of four months for $99. By saving $50, I would have been able to put it towards another months membership fee. New student orientation: Although I was provided directions to the change rooms and the studio rooms, it would have been great if there was a guided tour for new students to orient them around the facility, as well as explain/demonstrate how to use the lock in the locker rooms. Class Variety: All the Yoga Tree locations offer some different classes; for example, only the Richmond & Spadina location offer the Jivamukti class, only the Richmond Hill location offer Iyengar & Yoga with Meditation, etc... It would be nice to see some of these classes offered at the Bay & Dundas location from time to time (eliminating travel time to far locations such as Vaughan & Richmond Hill). Overall, I love attending the 6:30am - AM Power Flow classes with Stefanie on Tuesday and Thursday. It's a great challenging class and it's a great start to my day. This review is based on my first class experience. I have been looking for a yoga studio close to home and came across the Yogatree website and liked the look of it. Today was my first class, they have a special offer of $40 for the month (unlimited classes) and I started with the beginners class. The place was extremely clean and they have mats for rent too. The studio space for this class was called unity (I think? :/) and was spacious. There are props stacked in the corner for use (including blankets, I guess that can be used during relaxation time) and the lighting was dim (not dark though, I went at 5). The class was good for a beginner level because the focus is in breathing and posture. Also, the instructor was pretty helpful at the end of the class with answering my questions. Will definitely be going for more classes and try the variety that they offer. If the experience changes... So will my review ;) read more

This updated review is solely for Yoga Tree's Teacher Training program. YTT is either from Jan-April (weekends, mine included Friday evenings), July (entire month weekdays), Sept-Dec (weekends). Signing up for the 250 hr YTT at Yoga Tree has proven to be one of my best decisions for 2015. I had my reservations in the beginning. Would I be able to wake up on weekends ? Am I going to like yoga less? Can I even do this w/ a full time job? Am I going to survive the philosophy component? The answer is yes yes yes yes! YTT was an absolutely rewarding and exhilarating experience. It has also allowed me to challenge and learn more about myself, and I have gotten stronger mentally and physically as a result. I loved our small class size, as it likely benefitted and allowed us to have more social interactions in a very supportive and positive teaching environment. The teaching component was excellent as well. They started us with baby steps, teaching sun salutations, specific poses, sequences, one hr classes etc. Each week, we were teaching something. The guest speakers were all amazing and lovely people. I truly enjoyed every session. Anatomy, Kids Yoga (oved this), Prenatal Yoga, Philosophy (interesting!), Yin Yoga, Restorative, etc. Sessions with Jason & Karin were always fun and enjoyable. They are very knowledgeable, kind, patient and supportive. There were times where I felt weak in a certain area, but they always found something good in all of us as well as letting us know what could be improved on. Karin & Jason have always encouraged us to be better, which in turn, has inspired me to pass this joy and passion to others. I love yoga tree. The environment is warm, welcoming, clean and spacious, not to mention it is extremely close to my workplace. There is always artisan tea from Sloane Fine Tea Merchants offered at the studio. I appreciate the frequency and variety of classes available. The teachers are always patient. My favourite class at Yoga Tree is the Yin class offered by Aaron. My colleague's knee injury was healed through his restorative Yin class. We had literally followed Aaron from the Bay studio to the Spadina studio to maximize our $40 for a 30-day Unlimited Yoga Intro Package! read more

I purchased the $60 one month trial, and I am happy I did. I have already taken 4 classes so I have gotten my money's worth. I think it is good value for hot yoga in such a prime location like Bay and Dundas (they have no competition around them.) But BEWARE: if you do not cancel in time, your credit card will auto-renew to the tune of $120 per month!!! You have to go in person to cancel, they do not accept e-mails or cancellations over the phone. To me, this is the biggest scam ever! I think the trial should simply end, then that is it. The receptionists are nice enough, except for one Asian girl at Bay & Dundas who I try to avoid, whenever possible as she has such a miserable look on her face and condescending attitude. Like a previous reviewer said, the front desk staff just does not generally appear happy and does not give off a great first impression. I wonder why? Change rooms are small, but it is downtown after all so space is limited and it clears out pretty quickly. The classes themselves can get boring as the positions are them same pretty much every class...Yoga Tree obviously makes their instructors follow a strict curriculum. The instructors are generally very good, Sthitpragya's Hot Yoga Level 1 has been my favourite, so far. Neat and spacious yoga studio that's conveniently located in the heart of downtown Toronto - very close to the TTC. I like that this location offers more classes with longer hours of operation. Instructors are great, most front desk staffs are friendly. P.s. Yoga tree is a well-known yoga chain and this location is one of the many others. I chose it for the convenience as I was doing a drop-in, I had limited time. I would not particularly recommend it over other yoga studios. Pluses: - convenient location - lots of classes - Beautiful spaces Minuses: - Reception feels chaotic: lots of people asked the same questions to me a few times as I was trying to get signed-in. Honestly they were quite abrupt and it did not feel that welcoming. - Very rigid on schedule: I don't make a habit of being late but of all the studio in the world that I have been to, this is THE most uptight with regards to time. Be aware YOU WILL NOT BE LET IN if you are not EARLY for class. It's not really a minus but it's important to note. - My teacher discouraged me from using props?! I have sensitive knees so I brought a blanket and I was told "oh you won't need it, this is not a restorative class". That does not feel like a supportive environment. Some background on me, I have been doing yoga for over 10 yrs and I am a teacher. I practiced at Downward Dog years ago. I would say that doing yoga (safely) is better than not doing yoga. read more

This is review is solely toward the Workshop by Jessica Olie. I attended 2 of the workshops and they were both fantastic. The events were all sold out (within an hour apparently) and I didn't learned about it until it was too late. I messaged them and Meg emailed me back and let me know that there might be some spots left. So I called and were able to book the first class. She also told me that she can add my name to the waiting list for the next day classes. I got a call the next day and was able to purchase another workshop and I was over the moon! This couldn't have come in a better time as it was my birthday and these were the best gift I could get for myself. The day of the event, I was greeted by some lovely ladies at the reception and they were kind enough to show me around to were the changing room were and how the lockers work. After changing, I met her back at the front and she guided me to the class room. The studio is absolutely beautiful. Clean, modern, spacious with beautiful windows with the city view. I believe they have 3 class rooms (some heated and some not) split on few levels. The rooms are bright and spacious with large windows and mirrors. The waiting room on the first floor has a lot of room and seating with complimentary tea/water. The changing room has lots of lockers with build-in combination locks which is very convenient. The workshop was wonderful. I have been following Jessica Olie for a while now and I am so glad I was able to flow and learn from her. She is such a great soul and inspiring yoga teacher. Thank you Yoga Tree for having her in Toronto and I am glad I was able to step into your beautiful space. Hopefully, you will open a studio in my area. read more

I'm a big fan of this place not only because of the location but the staff is amazing and the place is clean. Front staff: fast and friendly. They take the time to learn your name and always there to greet you or see you off. Email them with any issues and they quickly respond and provide solutions. Instructors: knowledgeable and attentive. I like that these instructors walk around to make sure poses are being done correctly and they stick around after class in case you have questions. They are motivating and passionate about what they do. Love them! I highly recommend the 5:15pm class Mon- Fri. Place: huge location that is always clean with changing rooms, lockers, showers, saunas,and sitting area where you can enjoy chatting with other yogis and complementary tea (my fav is the creme earl grey). Services they provide include mat and towel rentals at a small fee, mat storage rentals for $10/month, and a juice bar (kombucha is great after a class). They have a small but nice selection of mats, accessories and yoga clothing to purchase as well. I suggest doing the unlimited monthly pass which allows you to use any of their locations. Bonus: your yogatree pass allows you to take advantage of discounts at bareburger, aroma, and fresh, just to name a few. read more

I love Yoga Tree studios and I have been going to their studios since Dec 2014. They offer a large variety of classes (hot, hatha, yin, restorative, Iyengar) across 5 locations in the GTA. Although this is not my home studio, Bay & Dundas is my favourite Yoga Tree studio. It is conveniently located close to Eatons & Dundas subway station. The studio is very luxurious, clean, and beautifully designed. They have 1 hot room, 1 reduced heat room, and another large studio. The washrooms are fully equipped including soap, lotion, and even hair ties, qtips and face cotton balls. The lockers are convenient because you don't have to bring your own lock to use them. There is also a sauna & massage rooms which currently are not in use yet. I work downtown and I went to the lunch hour yoga. It is short (50 minutes to an hour) and really convenient for those who work and want to fit in a yoga practice during lunch. There is also a mat storage space available for $10/month for those who don't want to carry their mats back and forth. Free tea and cucumber water is available for all the students. I love looking at the yoga merchandise for sale. Also, there is the Pekoe Kombucha bar that's open for those who want to drink kombucha after class. I did my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) at Bay & Dundas in Winter 2015. Jason (owner) & Karin (Senior Instructor) are very experienced teachers and I learned a lot from them. The majority of the teachers teaching at Yoga Tree are trained through their own YTT program. The teacher screening process is intense, and it really shows through the quality of classes. read more

Okey I just cancelled my membership, like just now. The reason being that their front desk's poor choice of wording to say to me as a client: I have been practicing in the studio for almost 8 months, like some of their teachers very much and it makes me feel a little bit sad now I have chosen to leave them T^T Today, with the snowstorm in Toronto in April, I decided to come to the studio to practice. I was late, yes, for 2minutes, i asked the front desk if I can still join the class, because the weather is really bad and I tried my best to be on time,( I mean if I was 5min late I won't even ask to join but it is a god damn 2 mins late in this bad weather condition. I was told I could not get in, then I tried to say it's 2 min late and the weather is realllly shit, I was not expect to hear what i am about to hear: So basically they said it's the last call, and I have been late for many times prior to this class, they have told me not to be late..... I was like......... omg...... what did they just say?yes, I am a frequent practicer here and I have been always be on time for classes but I am not what they are saying to me like a late comer. just because I practiced a lot, they have been seeing my faces a lot DOESNOT mean I am late for classes!?(what's that logic) it really pisses me off first because of the bad weather condition and second because of their reason for not being considerate to their clients. They have been allowing people to come in if it is 1-2min late most of the time, that I know cuz I have friends telling me this. Why are they trying to screw me in this bad weather frame me by giving me such a bad comment about not being punctual where I have been always on time! If you are looking for HOT yoga, do not go here. I love hot yoga and heard that Yoga Tree Bay & Dundas offered hot classes. They were also featured on some Blog as one of the top studios for hot yoga. They advertise a hot room to 38 C, which is a couple degrees less than most hot places (40C), but that is not too bad. Don't get me wrong, the space is fine, relatively clean, and serene. The staff at the reception are very friendly and nice. But the hot studio itself is VERY drafty and NOT HOT. They have humidifiers spraying around by the window to try to achieve that hot feel. They do nothing. The classes I have attended are quite vigorous with many chaturangas and things like that, very active, but I barely broke a sweat. This is unusual for a hot class. In a true hot yoga class, you will be sweating even while doing very few movements. It is really too bad, because the setup of the studio is great. There are self-locking lockers, it is clean, there are multiple classes at many times during the day. Nice smelling soap in the bathroom, clean showers, etc. The instructors are great too - friendly and trying hard. Another thing too - they allow people to enter the studio late. Serious yoga studios do NOT allow late-comers! What is the point of lying on the mat during the intro of the class listening to the instructor talk about all this zen stuff about release and calm when you have people coming in, slamming their mat down, and throwing the blocks down to set up? It is not calming, and I just lay there watching them come in. This place has potential. It just needs fixing up - enforce no late comers, and do not advertise 'hot yoga' as being held here. The instructors here are amazing! I particularly love Queenie's core yoga class and Kim's Power Vinyasa class which provide a good balance of strength and flexibility. I also enjoy the hot yoga classes which are very challenging -- Jelayna and the Friday 4:30 hot yoga instructor are both incredible at guiding through and correcting posture in the Level 1 class -- great for newbies! The studios are clean but can get crowded depending on the time and class. So definitely arrive early to save yourself some mat space! :) read more

Love this Studio!! They have such a wide variety of classes and the most wonderful teachers. I've only been going for roughly 4 months and I've grown in my practice drastically. What I really love however is all of the staff. They're so kind and knowledgeable. They also try to keep the community of the studio peaceful. I went for the opening day Hot Yoga class. understand it was a promotion day for free class. But It was not worth my hour of time due to the following reason. - Hot yoga class was not hot due to heat system defects - The room still had paint smell in it, which made it very hard for proper breathing - The class was crowded and unprofessional - They have allowed late arrivals and had a guy outside of the entrance; looking into the practice through the glass door for a good 15min (creepy)!!!! Since it was a new space, the environment was nice and clean. Would go back in maybe a couple of months when the hype is over and the paint smell is gone. Great instructors & selection of classes, friendly & helpful! Girls at the front desk are always fun & positive ! I look forward to going to yoga class everyday! WOW!! I went today for the free opening day classes and took the Restorative class with Mary. The facilities are gorgeous, modern, clean, and detailed. I really liked the instructor who was gentle, helpful, instructive but unfortunately doesn't teach regularly at this location. I'm thinking of the $40 month pass for this studio. I'm just getting back into yoga and there's a large variety of classes from restorative, basic to advanced and hot yoga. The customer service was great, I was helped immediately coming in. The locker got stuck and the combo didn't work but their response was great, problem acknowledged and solved efficiently. I vaguely remember going to the Spadina location years ago and was not impressed. This seemed to be a totally different studio and not part of the same brand. read more

The space is very nice and pretty. I ended up attending two different classes, one was a reduced heat hot clasa and the other was a YIN class a month or so ago. The front desk staff are kind of nice, like they smile and greet you. At the same time, there definitely is a odd snobby pretentious judgey vibe. I think when i said good bye, thanks when I was leaving she sort of stared right at me for 4 seconds before actually saying "good bye" which was weird. That same girl seemed to be sneering, snidely laughing and judging but who knows, maybe that's her resting face. lol The reduced heat class was actually nicer at a lower temperature. Maybe because I'm a naturally warm person who overheats in general. The teacher was helpful and offered adjustments. I think the instructions could have been a bit clearer but it was all in all a good class. I went to the yin class on a whim, not knowing what it was about. I asked the front desk girl if it would be too challenging for someone who has just gotten into yoga after a long break. She said yes, I will be fine, and to just go. UMMMMM, the yin class is comprised of longer static holds and faster athletic type sequences on repeat. I had to leave half way during the class because I was also recovering from the cold. That's fine...it happens. Here's where it gets REALLY WEIRDf: the instructor asks if I'm "fine" and i just said yes, it's a bit challenging for me, I didn't know. He LAUGHS, jeers and goes " you think this is hard, this is nothing," The entire class laughs, I leave slightly shocked and dismayed. I shouldn't be shamed for leaving because I was still coughing a bit, and thought that long holds meant "more relaxing" lol... When did yoga become a competitive sport where your instructor bullies you in front of the entire class? Is this BRO yoga? I guess the dude was an athletic bro..ha Yoga isn't supposed to be about competing but developing at your own pace? Namaste?...maybe? read more

The space was nice, quiet, and clean. It is a "no shoes" center though, so I had to walk into the bathroom without shoes!! This is disgusting and completely unsanitary. I can understand leaving your shoes at the door of the room in which you are practicing in, but to walk into the stalls with no shoes on is too gross. read more

I'm a newer yogi and Yoga Tree was the second place I tried, after Yoga Sanctuary. By comparison Yoga Tree is far better, especially the lobby and change rooms - there's proper ones. Being new to hot yoga I found the instructor (Rita) to be very helpful. I have had upwards of a dozen instructors thus far and most do a fine job. However I found Rita to be an absolute yogi master. Her voice is so calming that you actually meditate, & the way she explains how to flow from pose to pose you feel like a pro. I have yet to feel awkward or confused in one of her classes. As well I found Aaron to be a very relaxing instructor, very helpful in a genuine way. Overall I would highly suggest Yoga Tree. Great location, an ever greater team. read more

'Hot yoga' was not hot. Rather just a warm room and you don't sweat much. I had a bad experience in this studio that originally I was considering monthly monthly unlimited, but not anymore. One staff I dealt with was kind of condescending and argumentative. Blank faced, deadpan and unfriendly. With yoga being so cheap and accessible these days, what draws customers in is the ppl and he service. But this studio felt cold and business driven, nothing spiritual as yoga atmosphere should be. This is enforced by the staff I dealt with. I can spend my money on other yoga studios that actually feel like one with better service and people. no thanks. read more

I've had an unlimited monthly membership at this location for the last 4 months and think the studio is average. The instructors are good but not great - I have a preference for a select few because of their teaching style. The facilities are very modern but it seems like they're trying to impress more by aesthetics than anything else. I've found the staff to be kind of snobbish - I'm always the one initiating conversations and I've never been greeted or welcomed when I come in. I have to down-rate Yoga Tree for a recent experience that absolutely soured my view of this studio. I recently had an incident where I arrived ONE minute late to a class (although, according to my watch, I was right on time) and was refused entry. This seems overly anal and is exceptionally frustrating for someone who spends $100+ every month to be able to take classes at this location. I have never arrived late in the four months I've been at this studio but circumstances out of my control made it so that I couldn't leave work on time. What difference is there between arriving one minute before and one minute after? Either way, the person will be slightly late to the class. If they want to be absolutely sure that no one arrives late to class, then have a policy where you cut off admittance 5 minutes (or whatever you deem enough time to be in class early) before class begins - I can respect that policy. As a paying customer, I expect a certain level of customer service, especially if it's just a one-off thing and so borderline. I was already dressed and ready to go -- just needed to throw my jacket into a locker. I have never encountered an experience like this where there wasn't even a leeway of a few minutes. I will not be renewing my membership at this studio nor recommending it to others. read more
