I literally eat here almost every day. The wait staff sometimes get really busy as it's a small place with a lot of regulars but I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. For me, the food has always been good. I have never had a rude instance with any of the wait staff or have had my food smelling fishy (like I read on one of the posts) The place is very cozy and the price for the rolls are really inexpensive (especially during happy hour 3-6) I have brought all my coworkers and friends here and they've all loved it and have even stopped by afterwards without me lol. I tried this place out because I saw they had a happy hour menu and it's close by. You definitely get what you pay for. This is by far the worst sushi restaurant ever! The seaweed is like rubber, the fish is far from fresh and even their water and sodas tasted like it came from the toilet. I enjoy their happy hour and the shrimp tempera is great. The spicy salmon is good because it's not the weird ground fish mush. I wasn't impressed by the nigiri at all, but their rolls were good and the service is always great. First time we went was during a rush hour. Didn't have enough staff on the floor to be attentive, however the two that were there we're extremely nice. The hostest was also very helpful. Went back a second time again because we really Liked their food. way better service the second time around, because it wasn't crazy packed. Sushi rolls were fresh. We ordered the east county roll, rock roll, and yellow roll,The tempura bento, and strawberry mochi ice cream. Everything was great. The rolls could use more spice and flavor toppings but fish was fresh. Shrimp tempura and veggie tempura delicious. Strawberry mochi with whip cream and chocolate syrup was lie neopolitan ice cream. This place is amazing! I honestly wish I could give them 10 stars! They have delicious food, a warm ambience and great service. My friends and I tried a ton of different rolls and every single one was fantastic. I personally recommend the Rock and Roll, the Rock Shrimp Avocado Roll, the Double Spider Roll, the Teriyaki chicken roll, and the Rancho roll. This place is very clean, which is alway a plus. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Considering the quality of the food, the prices were moderate. I know nothing about sushi, and so the young female server was extremely helpful with assisting me in picking out the perfect selection. The second time I went expecting the same level of service, I was supremely disappointed. A (slightly) older female server with tattoos offered no assistance whatsoever. I told her of my lack of knowledge in sushi, of the assistance I previously received, and a general description of what I ordered before. She sets a menu down and walks away. price is not bad for the food, between the wife and I, I can get a tall beer with sake, 2 meals and an extra roll and it usually ends up around 50$. Service is pretty good too. I have been to Yi Sushi twice now. Service is terrible. No one greets you upon entry, food service is slow and no one smiles. They all seem to not enjoy their job. Today i ordered baby lamb and it had absolutely no flavor and was full if fat! They charged $9 for this appetizer...so not worth it! I placed an order to go and waited for 25 mins for my food. Seems excessive considering the restaurant wasn't even half full. Overall, not impressed with this place. I gave it 2 opportunities and it didn't get any better. Perhaps I threw our server off-guard with this question, because this person failed to ask if I wanted white or brown rice (realized after my meal came that server never asked). They didn't even bring me white by default. Just no rice. And they also didn't bring me the miso soup or the salad that was included with my meal. ....I was so over it I didn't even bother to ask them to correct their mistakes. Again. Sorry guys. The place was rather empty since we arrived just when they opened but we surely didn't mind. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered the Rock/Roll and East County. Great rolls! the sushi was very fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable. The only suggestion I would give is to change up their Hot Green Tea a bit. The one we ordered just tasted like hot water.
