We slid in and decided to dine onsite the last hour or so of their business day. There's a large shared parking lot, as well as, street parking. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. Lots of seating configurations and typical interior decor. There was a lively family group that was wrapping up their dinner. I noted there was brisk takeout orders being picked up and three other parties that dined onsite during our visit. Great wait person who provided water, hot tea, and menus upon being seated. He was also patient as we decided from the expansive menu. We were also checked on by another gentleman towards the end of our meal, presumably the owner. We feasted and also had plenty of leftovers to take home. We selected salt and pepper calamari with green onion and garlic, half roast duck served with plum sauce, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork, and steamed rice. The freshness and flavors really stood out for me. The roast duck was exceptional - succulent meat, crispy skin, and not overly greasy! Generous entree portions too.

While we were out and about, we saw Wonton Noodle House and filed it in the back of our minds. Today, we decided to drop by for a bit of lunch. For the two of us, we ordered #12 Large - Won Ton and Dumpling Noodle Soup and #94 - Stir Fried Udon with Beef. Service was friendly and pretty quick. Everything we needed to share these two dishes was brought with the exception of a large ladle, but we managed by simply using our soup spoons. We both enjoyed the Dumplings over the Won Ton simply because the Dumplings have more ingredients in them. The noodles had a good bite. The Udon noodles were very good and the beef had been properly tenderized. We would be happy to eat here again when in the area.

We had to ask for water three separate times, including going up to the host stand because nobody checked on our table. When the water finally arrived, it had a strong musty taste that was unpleasant enough that none of us wanted to drink it. The service was equally disappointing. The staff seemed annoyed whenever my mother or aunt asked questions, and there were several instances where responses felt abrupt or dismissive. What made it more frustrating was seeing much friendlier interactions with surrounding tables. We never felt welcomed as guests. I understand automatic gratuity for larger parties, but the mandatory 20% gratuity felt difficult to justify given the level of service we received. Had tipping been left to our discretion, I would have left considerably less. The food also fell far below expectations, especially for the price point: * The walnut shrimp still had waste material visible in the tail. * The salt and pepper calamari was overwhelmingly salty, lacked pepper flavor, and came with burnt shallots. * The beef and broccoli was covered in a thick, gelatinous sauce with noticeable clumps of cornstarch. * Our party of six was given only two small bowls of rice to share. To make matters worse, I felt nauseous after the meal despite generally having a strong stomach. Overall, the combination of poor service, underwhelming food quality, and high prices made this a disappointing choice for what should have been a celebratory family meal.

My oh my, what a feast and we brought home as much as we ate! I would say the winners were the beef and onion dumplings and the green beans (OMG I could have just ordered these and made a meal of them!)-- but other stand outs were the shumai, and the orange chicken.
