I have only been coming to this shop for around 2 years now, but I am convinced that this is THE best record shop in all of South Florida. Hands down. When comparing to other shops in the broader Miami area, Yesterday and Today seems to have much higher standards as it relates to the quality and curation of the used vintage records which they will sell. Additionally, they do so at fair prices. I tend to be a bit picky (naturally, as collectors in general tend to be) about the condition and quality of the used records which I buy, but Yesterday and Today has never really come up short in this end where other local shops have. Moreover, there is consistently great music in their bins across almost every genre you could imagine, even the more niche and obscure stuff--which, in some respects, this shop caters towards. Seriously, anybody can come into here and find something that they love. This is something which with great sadness I cannot personally say about other shops; this may be subjective, as music taste and preferences are exactly that, but most of the bins here are simply just full of great music while there has been days at other shops where it felt like I was sorting through a goodwill record section. Just as extensive, and equally impressive, is the knowledge of music which Evan, the owner, carries. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this record shop! It is really small but they literally pack this place with records. Stacks and stacks EVERYWHERE! LOL It does get a little tight when more than 6 customers are in the store because you literally have to squeeze by or climb over each other. It sounds horrible but I assure you it's not! I've been to this store on MULTIPLE occasions and each and every time its a super chill experience, customers are pretty cool and understanding of the space constrictions and don't mind climbing over each other if the need arises to pass one another. The staff is AMAZING and SUPER knowledgeable! The older gentleman (I believe his name is STANLEY) is the absolute best! Very personable, friendly, and always happy to help and offer advice and suggestions. They have an incredible selection of music. I have literally re-visited the music of my childhood (eloquently put by Stanley himself?) I have purchased rare disco albums that I have prices online for $150-$300 for about $14-$18 TOPS!!! I've purchased so many hard to find albums at such reasonable prices that I am utterly amazed every time I visit the store. I guess people in Miami aren't big into Disco?!? Their loss my gain!!! :-) All in all, this is my go to place for vinyl! I introduced my 21 year old Son to the store and he too is hooked! read more

First off - I'd like to start that I've NEVER left a business with a bad rating before. This will be my first. Today my favorite artist sent signed albums to random local record stores across the US to sell. Me living in Florida obviously had to call every record store around to find out where I could get my hands on one. I called this record store and got answered with "YESTERDAY AND TODAY" and I said "Hi! So i'm sure you've gotten a few calls but I was wondering if you've gotten any Tay-" and I got cut off by the rude man with "NO I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE TAYLOR SWIFT CDS AND NO I DO NOT CARE." After that the man then hung up the phone. While I understand it can get frustrating receiving calls over product you may or may not have, it's business. To be cut off while talking and then hung up on was very rude and not appreciated. I work in retail myself and would NEVER do that to a potential customer. Very dissatisfied with the call and how the worker went about handling it. Super unprofessional. read more

A Miami legend with thousands of records which has been at this location for some years now. Heavy on 60s and 70s classics, and it would take days to see all the great vinyl here. I have fond memories of their location on bird and Red road in 1992. So much great Punk vinyl at that time. A must for any collector and music lover. read more

My partner and I were on a road trip to the Keys and popped into Yesterday and Today Records. What a gem of a record store, great selections and wide variety of genres to browse. Our favorite part was taking to owner Evan about some obscure bands and some of the area's punk/experimental music venues of his youth. Picked up a Government Issue LP I was looking for and we said our goodbyes. This is why we seek out record stores it's not only the picking it's the people who make it fun too. Despite it being the day after Christmas, they still had a number of fantastic selections. The staff were incredibly friendly even as people came in only 15 minutes before closing time. Every inch of the quaint store was crowded with great selections of music which added to the charm and vintage feel. The only issue we had was with the tight space, but that was understandable. There are tons of records of all genres, and the cashiers can manage them all. They're like record librarians. The shop is small, but don't be fooled. There are tons of varieties of records here. I bought old salsa records and Tiffany songs. They play each record to check it for defects, and they are in great condition. Overall, this is a great place to buy records. I've got an itch, an unrelenting and completely insatiable itch for these circular black disks! Vinyl junkie doesn't even begin to describe it. With my never ending urge constantly battling within me, wickedly goading me with its sultry seduction and suave implications - yes, it doesn't take much to please me - a quick stop at a record store was in order! Yesterday and Today Records..... The first record store I ever set foot in. Oh what fond memories I have of walking through that door for the first time.....siiigghhh..... Although it is not that big, practically a little hole in the wall, there is no shortage of vinyls in this location! Stacks and stacks as far as the eye can see. Upon entering, my eyes swiftly caught sight of something that instantly filled me with immense joy! I'm a girl on a mission when I visit these places and just seeing that one 45 with a picture sleeve in amazing condition by my standards proudly displayed, I knew I was in the right place. Everything is in alphabetical order, makes things just a tad bit easier for your hunting pleasure as you search through those endless rows. There's a little something for everyone and to my surprise, they even sell cassettes here! I was very tempted to buy a few considering they had some of what I was looking for specifically but held off on it. If this place didn't already sell me on the 45, then the cassettes did it for sure. I know, who buys cassettes anymore, let alone have a way to play them? I'm nostalgic that way and just happen to have an awesome record player that can play cassettes too! :P If anything, they will look nice on a memorabilia shelf! Just a thought, don't judge me!!!! Given that the store is pretty small, moving around with several people in it can be a bit of a hassle. Traffic jam! Not complaining about it, just giving you fair warning that you'll probably have to squeeze your way by someone to get around. As for my overall visit, let's just say I walked out of there one happy camper! :} Some sweet LP's and nifty 45's were firmly acquired and it is safe to say that I completely wiped out that section for that particular band. It's not exactly the most obvious location for a perfectly gringo record shop toting all of the classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Janis, Frank, Elvis, Marvin, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Jerry Lee, The Waitresses. Yeah, they were all there and now they're in my living room. If your budding collection is missing some of the musts, Y&T has every classic rock, blues, jazz record you might be searching for and amazingly, despite the stacks and piles of musical wax, most are cataloged and filed in their appropriate section and in alphabetical order. Prices are fair (averaging between $9.99-19.99) and the small selection of $1.99 records could provide an awesome surprise: hello American Roots Compilation! Electric blues? Yes'sir! They also have a great collection of import CD's, which feature obscure bands, which are amazing. They specialize in 60s and 70s rock. The owner, Evan, is a fountain of knowledge and can help you find something you like based on whatever other bands you like. I always come away from Yesterday and Today with a new favorite band. The prices are as fair as they can be. The records are the cheapest I've found them, and in the best condition possible. All records are cleaned before put to sale. Some import CD's can get a bit pricey, but you're being given the best price possible; these are really rare, and often limited CD's. Sometimes they're the last CD's produced of certain bands. They also have sales about every 6 months, some for even 50% off certain records. This is a great record store for someone who wants to pick up their favorites, and also for those looking to dive into the world of underground rock. read more

Brought my new papi here to pick up some records to get jazzy too and was so happy I did. Let's start with the obvious if you've been here, it's tight. I mean tiiiiiiiight. There's not much walking space and you're climbing over patrons and records to get to the next genre. It's small in size, but extensive in variety. You can find any and everything here. Aisles on aisles filled with so many classics. I was overwhelmed. The staff is well versed and their willingness to get knee deep in the funk with you adds to this places appeal. I am in awe of this place. I visited this place last week and man was I in for a treat. The one thing that I see most people complaining about is what makes me love this place. Yes, it is tight in here. Space is limited, but that's the best part because you know you'll leave with some awesome finds. You could dig here for hours and still not scratch the surface of what this shop holds. He had some real Florida classics, like Quad City DJ's! This store had everything that I was looking for. It's not lacking in jazz, latin music, reggae, rap, r&b, or blues. I'm a college student so I have to save if I want to walk in and buy more than a few records lol. However, I do think that the records are fairly priced because you won't find a vinyl of poor quality. Let me also add that I am huge Stevie Wonder, so when I see anything with his name on it, I get it. This place did not lack when it came to my main man Stevie. Evan, the owner, is super knowledgable about music and has put in a lot of time and effort to organize all of that music. If I wanted to find where the reggae was, he's show me and I could go from there, as he has put everything in alphabetical order. He's very kind and personable. I love going to Yesterday and Today. There are so many records that its hard to walk around. The owners are very nice and that special kind of cooky that makes for great conversation. They always recommend new things based on what you pick up and love showing off some of their rarer items. All the records are clean and they label all the covers so you know if its an original/import which is great if you don't like reissues or are looking for a specific pressing. I wish they carried more punk/metal but they have so much more of everything else that it really doesn't matter. And they buy/trade records which you can't do anywhere else now that Spec's Music (R.I.P.) is gone. They open kind of late and close kind of early, but what do you expect? Business isn't what it used to be for vinyl. Some days they don't show up at opening time so call ahead if you don't want to wait around outside the shop. read more
