Inside, it feels like you're transported somewhere magical. Books literally line everywhere you go and I loved being able to crane my neck all the way back and see books going upwards towards the roof. It is easy to figure out the sections, they have history, art, literature and a variety of other genres to look around at. I found a old edition of The Silence of The Lambs and had to buy it. The book was in very nice condition and very reasonably priced for what it was! I will say, if it's busy like it was when I was there, you will have to scooch past people multiple times because the two rows of books are basically only large enough for one person standing sideways. A gorgeous and reasonably priced bookstore that you need to see in person to truly appreciate it like I did!

Here you'll find William store owner and his cat (Tim?) Both low key and pleasant. It took awhile I did find a book which all books have the price on the first white page. Oh also he has other items for sale such as foreign currency and old post cards. What a nice spot. And a little bonus it's just across the street per se to other places like My Big Fat Greek weeding or The Field Irish pub! Well worth the drive to this bookstore. Lastly one of his clients took a photo of him with his cat and it's a great print job of it

Where else can I look at $1200 books with provided white gloves, but spend half an hour poring over the $40 offerings? There is a fundamental need for art in this world, and I'm glad they're doing their part. Salespeople largely left me alone, which is fine. They must have sensed I wasn't buying anything, but they didn't know that I couldn't put the book I wanted in my suitcase coming back home. So no nefarious intent detected on their part. Would visit again, then plot to get it mailed to me at home.

Naturally, I bookmarked this retail location and finally opted for an instore purchase versus the online method I've typically done. While they do offer extremely rare and collectible books, they also offer plenty of interesting options that are budget-friendly as well. Everyone is an enthusiast about something which is why this publisher and retail location makes the perfect destination to suit all needs, interests, and age groups. In my opinion, they certainly have some of the best sourced material and images found throughout their collections so it's easy to fall in love with a book here. After all, a home without a library is just a house. Whether you are looking for a decorative table book, a conversation starter, or an anthology of varied arts; you can find it at TASCHEN. The staff here is super nice and knowledgeable in helping you locate a specific print you're looking for. I recommend this store to tourists and locals alike.

Plus, everything is locally-sourced and supports our community. It's a collective artistic vibe that sets this place apart from the rest. Every item sold here comes with a backstory and really brings out the raw talent our community has. There's nothing like it in the area which is why I recommend paying them a visit. It seems like the whole strip of this center has something cool to offer. Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982 in a 500 sq ft space in Coral Gables when he realized that he loved books more than going to law school. Somehow this independent book seller has managed to stay in business in a time when most books are bought online. One of the ways they have stayed relevant is by hosting over 60 author events every month. Books & Books sponsors one of my favorite events every November, the Miami Book Fair, when 300 hundred authors converge on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College for a week of one of a kind literary events. The fair was started in 1984 by Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus President, Eduardo J. Padrón and Mitchell Kaplan in partnership with the Miami library system. Many famous people, artists, athletes, politicians, and celebrities have come to Miami to speak about their books at the fair. It is now the largest literary festival in the country. I discovered this small Books & Books outpost while exploring Bal Harbour Shops. It might be one of the only stores I can afford in the entire mall. As soon as you walk in the heavenly smell of books engulfs you. I wish they sold it is a perfume. On the wall and tables are a good selection of the latest best sellers, popular fiction, children's book, and non fiction. They also sell reading glasses. In a time when most books stores have been shuttered, it is wonderful to see that Books & Books has managed to keep the literary loving community engaged.
