The store has "free parking for customers" but Barnes&Nobles has a contract with the Whitts Tow Away company, and just for business they tow away paying customers as well! Not even by showing my receipt of purchase and being found on their store camera recordings the store manager did nothing to help me. Scammers! Never park in the back and look out for that guy calling the tow truck. I went in looking for a specific book that they had listed available online. I asked an employee for help, I'm not sure if the employee was annoyed or busy, didn't seem too eager to help me however was able to locate the book in their online system. The employee pointed me towards the general direction of where the book could be, however made little to no effort to locate the book. After a few minutes of trying to locate the book myself, I gave up and ended up placing an order on Amazon. They have a huge books section for kids where you can sit down and read some of the books. There's also a huge super cool toy section. The store has its own cafe which serves Starbucks coffee. Decent Barnes and Nobles located in Coral Gables. I've come here a few times to get books for my son or to kill time while I'm on the mile. This particular time I camenin a little more than an hour before they closed and headed straight for the children's section. Theirs is not particularly big but it's a nice size. The one in Kendall I feel is bigger and has more toys. Could be wrong. Anyway my son did the usual looking around at a whole mess of books before getting to one he loved. Easy to find books in this section btw and it was in order. Issues came at check out. There was literally one person at the register despite the long line. No one was being called to help either. Not that I care to wait but when you have two kids and one is starting to get antsy you start losing your patience. Finally made it to the line and literally paid as fast as I could. This B&N location has a decent selection of books, magazines, and other items like calendars and gifts. As most other reviewers have mentioned, the in-store coffee shop is definitely a bonus and seems busy nearly every time I'm in this store. It seems that whenever I'm looking for a book on a particular subject, this store always offers 3 or 4 to choose from. Recently when a friend was injured and I heard they'd need to spend a few months at home recuperating, I decided to come here to get her some books that she'd enjoy to help pass the time. This B&N location didn't disappoint, and I was able to find 3 books in a few different genres that fit the bill perfectly. While online book stores can be convenient, sometimes it's nice to be able to come to a book store like this one, enjoy a cup of coffee and actually read through a bit of the book to make sure it's what you're expecting or looking for before you buy it. There's also something to be said for instant gratification and being able to walk out with a book you've chosen rather than waiting for it to arrive in the mail a week after you buy it. UPDATE 12/10/14: I returned to this B&N location and needed to use the restroom. WOW, their facilities are filthy! For such a decent looking bookstore, I was surprised that they don't seem to clean or upkeep their restrooms at all! I saw lots of hairs and feces smeared on the floor, no soap at the sink in the handicapped restroom (the only one available when I went in to use the restroom), the paper towel dispenser in there didn't work, and there was either dirt or perhaps tobacco all over the sink. The walls were smeared with either grease or perhaps ink that had been on people's fingers (this is a book store after all), and the carpeting leading back to the restrooms and area where the water fountains are located was nearly black in some areas where it was so filthy. I love this bookstore, I mean I come here pretty much every other day. I love books and they have a lotta of that. Usually they have all the books that I look for and if they don't they could order it for you in the store and have it delivered to your house. I think the whole bookstore is nicely organized. Also a great thing is that if you become a member you get 10% of in everything even in the cafe . I love all the girls that work in the cafe they are all super sweet and helpful. The latte I usually get always taste great ! Also the yummy baked goods they have like the new s'more cookie omg!! Deliciousness!!! The cafe seats and tables are quite cute; maybe it could use a little updating but I like to think everything that is a bit outdated gives the place character . Located on Miracle Mile, this Barnes and Noble surprisingly has free parking. Good luck trying to get it, though, as it shares its parking with its neighbor, FedEx. If you need to park and have no luck, there's plenty of street parking that is metered. That parking you can either pay via quarters or through their mobile app. If that doesn't work, there's a more expensive garage down the street you can use. Parking aside, this Barnes and Noble is a decent size. It may not be two floors, but it does have a Starbucks Café inside and the associates are friendly. They tend to have some events here, usually advertised via e-mail. I personally cannot comment on them as I have never gone to them, but it is something to keep in mind. Given the size of this Barnes & Noble, it is no surprise that some of their selection is limited. However, for a popular bestseller, they will usually have copies. If they don't, just order it in the store. Whenever I have needed a book here, everyone has gone out of their way to help me. You can always go to their customer service and ask them for the book you want, they will look for you and if they have it they will even bring it to you. I've been to this location about 3 times over the years. The most recent time I needed to pick up an online order for someone. When I was told I needed to go to the Coral Gables location of B & N, I kind of got a tightness in my stomach. Anyway when I arrived to pick up the book, I couldn't help but notice how untidy this location was in comparison to other locations in Broward and Palm Beach. You'd expect the place to be quiet, but for the love of God this place is loud ...loud...loud. The place is littered with toys and little monsters(untrained children) running all over the place. Not only that but while I was standing in an aisle browsing some books an older woman nearly ran me over with one of those wheeled walkers. I literally had to athletically jump out of the way to avoid being trampled on. Anyway I got the book and jetted out of that place pronto. I enjoy coming here because I find great books to dive my nose into. All the sections are separated by category so finding what you want is just a quick scan away. The store is cozy and offers an intimate feel throughout the aisles giving you space to sort through shelves with peace of mind. On our visit today to the Starbucks in barnes in noble we ordered at the Cafe 20 dollars worth of food when I went to pay I only had a 100 dollar bill which I find amuzing that no where in the Cafe there's a sign posted that we do not accept hundred dollar bills horrible management. This is a horrible way to manage a business if u don't know how to look at a 100 dollar bill to look if it's real or authentic they sell inexpensive markers to check the bills but now it cost you money because the food you prepared will have to be thrown out. read more

Not the treatment I expected at all from a large company. The problems started when I called 4 times, and nobody picked up the phone for more than 1 minute of ringing. I wanted to see the refurbished nook glow light 3. On the internet, it stated it was available in stock at the store, and available for pickup currently. Clearly stated at this location. I drove 45 minutes, since it showed in stock. It did not show on Monday, but it did show today, Thursday. When I got there, the clerk told me they do not stock them in store. They do not stock them, but it says online they do, and that there is one at THIS location? Her next answer was 'dude, we don't have them'. Verbatim. I am not your 'dude', and that is inappropriate customer service. She did not offer to call the manager, i had to ask. He said no. I asked if I could get a discount on a new one, since I drove all the way down here despite the fact it was clearly listed online. I heard him snicker on the phone as he was talking to the clerk. No. The appropriate action would have been the employee addressing me in a respectful manner, and the company owning up to the promises it makes online, by a small token, or at least coming out in person. She further said that they don't 'control online', whatever that means. It doesn't matter. You are the face of this company, and so is your website. Do not blame the leg for what the arm is doing! Me, the customer does not care to hear your excuses! I see why BN is losing customers to kindle and Amazon. I have an Oasis, and a Kobo Aura ONE le, both over $200. I was looking for a cheap, night light capable of red spectrum light ereader to take on an extended vacation so I would not have to worry about my Kobo getting stolen. I decided to give them a shot despite the inferior product. I will never buy a Nook as a result of this experience today. Epic Review of Epicness: Barnes & Noble This story begins three years ago. It was an ordinary day and I needed to use an ATM. I stopped by the Publix and used one of the outdoor ATMs. On my way back to my car, I noticed something glistening in the hot, bright, summer sun. It was a small, partially opened bag of glitter. There's a Michael's in this shopping center so a valid assumption would be that it came from there and via happenstance some poor soul dropped the baggie on the ground. If you're not familiar with what a Michael's is, try to imagine a mecca of shit women really, really, really love. OK, now take away the food. Right, now subtract Oprah. We're on the right track here, remove the Danielle Steele novels. Bingo, arts and crafts paraphernalia. Naturally, I did what any normal human being in my situation would do. I pocketed the shit out of that glitter. You never know when you'll need glitter, and having a pocket full of it is like having a... pocket full of glitter. I had trouble with a good metaphor on that one, I spent like 15 seconds trying to think of something, arose to grab myself a bottle of fine Guinness Draught, and promptly gave up. I hope you forgive me, it's been a long day. With the glitter in my pocket I proceeded along with my day. What followed was a typical day, that is, until I wanted to buy myself a book. I made my way to this BN since I was nearby. I perused the books when out of the corner of my eye I saw a cute girl. Oh she was so adorable, not at all my type, but she had a nice butt and pretty hair so I overlooked the daddy issues she had tramp stamped on her lower back. She also happened to work there. Fuuuuuuuck. I have this rule: Don't hit on women while they're working. Just don't fucking bother people with personal shit while they're working because you're not special and every other mundane fuck out there thinks he's special when he flirts with the cute waitress. So I hit on her. I asked for her help and made with the joking banter. She was digging it and inevitably asked me for my name. I said "Orlando..." and I followed it up with what I consider the stupidest flirting move anyone has ever pulled ever. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a handful of glitter. I perfectly synchronized throwing this handful into the air with the next words that left my mouth: "Like Orlando Magic." GLITTER EVERYWHERE. Why did I do this? I thought it would be so stupid it would make her laugh, and perhaps pity or subjective humor would entice her to bed me. I pride myself (or, I used to) in pushing the envelope when it comes to courting. This, I learned about a second after the magical thrust of pixie dust, was not one of those situations. Like I said, glitter everywhere. Mostly her face. "OWWWW MY EYE, MY EYE, MY EYE!!" Glitter to the face. Was I a gentleman? No. I walked out. Not just walked out, speed walked. That thing that 50-year-old women do to stay in shape? My escape technique. I acted completely oblivious to this girl and the fact that I just maced her with sparkling iridescent plastic bits. I hadn't set foot in that Barnes & Noble since, and I've told this story of utter failure to a select few. Until now. Today I went back in this store since I was in the neighborhood and wanted to celebrate an oddly successful meeting by treating myself to a book. I had, for the most part, forgotten all about what happened here for a brief moment until I entered. Then I had this "oh, right, I'm an asshole" moment. I didn't turn around and leave because I assumed after 3 years this girl wouldn't still be working here. I was right. But ass-fuckingly-enough, she just happened to be shopping. I can't make this crap up. Not only was she there, but she wasted no time in walking toward me with a deterministic demeanor. I wanted to bless her with a little déjà vu and speed walk out of there, but I couldn't. I was so painstakingly shocked by the fact that this utter horseshit was happening that I couldn't even move. I stood there and looked at her like she had just fingered my inner child's asshole right in front of me. When she finally arrived and stood right in front of me, in all her 5'4" +/- 1" glory, looking up at me with victory in her eyes, I felt defeated and emasculated. We're face-to-face. She's totally invading my personal space in a way that her eyelashes could probably tickle my chest if she really tried, and she says, "hey Glitter, what the fuck?" She didn't seem mad. She just had this slight look of disapproval, and I frankly expected her to kick me in the balls at the very least. I wasn't sure how to respond to that. I didn't put much thought into what I said next. I think I defaulted into snarky-Orlando-mode. I looked at her plainly and just said: "...did you at least get the joke?"
