I've been trying to figure out how they've managed to escape any Yelp reviews after so many years in business...perhaps because they don't have a website?
After a hiatus of visiting nail places in Aurora, I decided to try out a few to see if I have any luck. Good news is I found a few I would return to (which I will also write reviews on). Bad news is I would NEVER return to Yen Nails.
I can only speak for my experience with the technician I saw because I will not give them a second try. By the time she was finished removing my shellac and trimming my cuticles, I had FOUR fingers with bloody, painful cuticles...something I've never experienced with any manicure in my life. One cut everyone once in a while, sure...two, maybe, but four?!!
I didn't allow her to proceed any further. It's the first time in my life I've ever had to ask a technician to stop. I paid and left without having the polish applied. In hindsight I feel foolish for letting it go on for as long as I did. Maybe she had good polish skills, but it would never matter unless people were ok with bloody cuticles to match.
This is likely not the case for everyone who goes there, as it appeared that there were other technicians who had regulars, but I personally won't risk trying again...four cuts is excessive and totally unacceptable for a professional nail salon.
For those who are still willing to risk trying here, a heads-up there are no televisions to watch while you have your services.
For others who've had good experiences here, I would encourage you to include the name of the technician you like...I know this really makes all the difference. read more
