I asked for a slight coffin/square shape but instead I got a broken nail. 3. They don't soak your hands in water to get cuticles and nails soft. 4. The pedicure I got was good overall but I feel like they didn't properly cut my nails like they normally do at other salons so I don't recommend it. 5. From my experience at multiple other nail salons, they have a towel on the foot rest when getting a pedicure but this place had Scott towels so it just didn't really help with the overall experience. 6. Friendly staff. Only reason I gave it a second star. Overall, my nails look good from far away but they are not worth getting broken nails over. Will not go back and I would not suggest this place for people who like to do shellac, gel or nail polish over their natural nails.

Only issue was that the technician had another appointment coming so she was rushing and didn't really do my cuticles or clean up the edges so I had to do that when I got home. My nails do look good however for $45 I expected a bit more especially since the places around the area do complimentary hand massages (which they didn't offer this time around).

To sum it up, extremely sloppy work…read more Usually I visit LNG nails two doors down but they were busy so I stopped by Mimico Nails Bar and they took me right away. I got a shellac manicure for $30 + tax. The filing tool was also used to remove the old shellac once my nails were soaked with acetone which left the nail bed lumpy. Filing tool was further used to remove the cuticles (poorly). She then shaped them with a nail file. Next my nails were soaked in a bowl of cold water and the cuticle nipper was used to (again, poorly) clean up the skin around the nail. At that point she stopped to do some detail work on a girl sitting next to me, so I assume this person is one of the more skilled workers at the salon. I didn't mind waiting, but I got a chance to take a look at the work so far. I was worried because she was moving so quick without attention to detail. I asked if I could use the cuticle nippers to fix a few things, but another girl had said she wasn't finished and she would go back in to do the cuticles. When she came back she she went back in with the nippers on dry skin, leaving dry torn pieces of skin all around the nail, and still lots of cuticle left on the nail. She then went in with the shellac, leaving the edges sloppy around the sides and the cuticle. Her solution to this after three coats was refiling the nails, which left them all different lengths and shapes. The cuticles were still left sloppy. The whole process (with the break to detail someone else's nails) took about a half hour. This was easily the worst manicure I have ever had. And although this was only the work of one individual I won't be going back.

It is a smaller salon with typically 2 staff in the offseason, more in the warm weather so I always make an appointment if I can. I first went after getting acrylics elsewhere with shellac, but the thickness and shape were less than desirable. Judy skillfully removed the previous nails and has been doing my bio gel nails and fills with shellac since. The contrast from the previous nails was immediately noticeable. She is always accommodating to my ideas and requests and has executed different shapes, lengths and designs. I typically come up with something while there, multiple colours, overlays of glitter etc and she always nails it! I can easily last 4 weeks without chips or breaks, and in the odd case that I jam my nail or break it she is always able to accommodate a quick repair. In the warmer months I also get frequent shellac pedicures and Judy also has does all my waxing and was the first person to do a brazillian for me, and continued to for years while I was sporting that style. She got the process down, learned my hair growth patterns and I have never had any problems with burst blood vessels or anything of that kind. Consistency is our friend with waxing and it paid off. My mum and I share a split thumbnail issue and began visiting the salon as well. She has become a regular as well and Tammy does a great job on her shellac polish every few weeks. I've watched my mum take better and better care of the little things like her nails and waxing and it shows in her confidence in herself... she even showed up with blue nails one day to lunch... (this is a woman who had been sticking exclusively to pearl dusty pink hues in the beginning!) This is a smaller and simpler salon which is able to provide quality and cost-effective service. Not the place to head if you want crazy elaborate unicorn nails, but definitely a great salon for quality and consistency at a great price. The selection of shellac is always expanding and includes a few different brands. If I can walk out of this salon every month with brows, brazillian, shellac pedi and a bio gel fill with shellac all of which I am very pleased with for in and around $100 (plus gratuity) I am certainly more than pleased and quite a happy camper... or beach bum as the case may be ;)

A very small place you're better off booking an appointment just to be sure. The lady who did my nails was Judy and she was very understanding and helpful. I told her about my previous experience elsewhere and she told me if I ever had any nails chipped or fallen off she would fill them in for no charge! I got a french manicure and it took about an hour and I was very satisfied with the results. I also didn't pay over $55.00 this time. It was under $30.00

I didn't know there was a difference and they conveniently didn't take credit cards. I asked if there was a difference in conversion between USD and CAD and the lady said no difference. It was my first time in Canada so I was panicking looking through my purse and wallet and got $137 in USD and she said that she'll take that cash and to come back with $3 more USD later. I thought it was an expensive pedi and gel nails (very short French tip nails no mani) for the US but just though the Canada charges more. Only to find out that she basically cheated me out of money and tipped themselves a lot. They totally took advantage of me. My fault, I guess, for thinking someone wouldn't do that. Lesson learned. I've been going here for months and I feel like I've known them for years. My nails last longer here than most places I've been, and they are always to my liking. They don't rush, and are great at what they do. I'm also a fan of online booking for my busy and last minute schedule. They care deeply about what they do and the service they offer. I never feel like I'm being pressured to add more or do more, I'm always treated with utmost respect, and I'm remembered. They're also incredibly grateful. There's a TV with CP24 playing, it's very clean with lots of sun light, and plenty of parking.

I've come here a handful of times now and overall Century does a great job…read more Only once did I get a technician I felt rushed my shellac manicure and it was a bit sloppy (the edges of my nails were stuck to my skin because the polish was gloppy). Having said that, I've only had good experiences since so I'll chalk it up to that lady maybe having a bad day. Overall, Century seems clean and the ladies are very sweet. I have gone in with an appointment and also without (only had to wait for a few minutes). This spot has become my go to if I need a quick mani and/or pedi as it is super close to my work. Tip : if you pay cash, they won't charge tax!
