I woke up Wednesday morning with a migraine, so I hadn't eaten ALL day. The one thing that sounded…read moregood was Golden Dragon's egg drop soup. It is the best. Loaded with plenty of egg whites, green onions, a deep brothy flavor, and best of all some extra protein with the chicken they add in theirs. I also really enjoy their fried rice. They put in fresh bean sprouts which adds that freshness and crunch. All we ordered was 1 order of beef fried rice, 1 order of chicken egg drop soup, and 2 sprites. Totaling a little over $20. An affordable meal for two, as we can split those two items and still have food leftover. So good sized portions as well. Golden Dragon has been a staple in the Ozark area ever since I was a kid. I was reminiscing that night sitting in the drive through, talking to my son about a time when I remembered when they were dine in and had a buffet! He had no idea that they were a full blown restaurant once upon a time. I say all of this as a prelude to once we got home and opened our order. We DIDN'T order any vegetable spring rolls, but they had thrown in a little bag of them just for us. This may have been a small gesture on their part, but it really made me smile and feel better from a day that was not so great. So THANK YOU to whomever there that threw in that sweet little surprise. Your food is good, but I think it's the small acts of kindness like this that keep such a loyal following to your establishment.

My bad, I reviewed the wrong one, but I'm sure this location is good too! Here's my review from last year on the other location: I could tell by looking at the photos and reviews on Yelp that this place was going to be wonderful. Thankfully, when we finally gave it a shot, we were not disappointed. Talk about made fresh. Everything was so delicious and freshly prepared. Flavors were spot on. The service was fantastic. They always made sure that our drinks were filled and we had everything that we needed. My absolute favorite dish was the fried green beans with minced pork. Get it with extra minced pork and you'll love it. The steamed dumplings and pancake appetizer are also really good. Highly recommend! They also have clean restrooms with an extra large sink outside the restroom area so you can quickly wash your hands if you don't actually need to use the restroom. Pretty cool. We can't wait to go back for more!

Greasy food, regular service, generous portions, and noisy ambience…read more We came on a busy Sunday evening. We ordered the sizzling pepper steak and the braised beef noodle. After a 30 min wait the food came out. The sizzling pepper steak came out very hot and sizzling but it was incredibly oily. It was well seasoned, but way too oily. After we finished it, there was a puddle of oil remaining. The braised beef noodle was decent, and it was not special in any way. The restaurant was fairly clean, although the tables were packed tightly to fit the most amount of people. Our server was attentive, refilled our water frequently even though the restaurant was packed, and knew both mandarin and English. Overall I was mostly satisfied with the experience, but I would wish the food was less salty and greasy.

When I got home literally only 5 mikes away and started to eat my dinner I was super disappointed! Very tiny portions. Meal had 7 small pieces of chicken, maybe 5 small chunks of cashews at most. The chicken was like eating rubber. The sauce had been watered down and was very thin; terrible! Ordered fried rice but received white rice. 2 super small scoops of rice. The wontons were very tough and chewy. Not crispy at all. Asked for some duck sauce and hot mustard packets. They gave me one of each in small packets. Paid $18.00 for a meal that honestly wasn't even eatable. There are much better Chinese food than this place. I will never eat here again. Go to Yen Chang in Ozark; large quantities, made fresh, and the same price. 4 of us ate at Yen Chang last week and none of us could eat it all due to the large portions they give you. Yen Chang is fantastic! There is also a Chinese Buffet on S. Campbell in Springfield, MO. that is fantastic and even cheaper than Hong Kong Inn, and all you can eat. It's just north of Battlefield on Campbell. Leongs on west republic road in Springfield is fantastic as well. They even have the original Springfield Cashew Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken too. So does Yen Chang. Do not eat at Hong Kong Inn! You will be very disappointed! It's a total rip off! Paul Conn 9-5-2026
