Nice place. Food is average. I've eaten inside 2 times and takeout once. It's not terrible just not that good. Thus average rating.

Used to work next door and this will forever be my "good mood food". It will turn your day around quickly. Everything was delicious and fresh. The staff was absolutely the most kind and genuine you'll meet. The atmosphere was calm and felt authentic. Love everything about this place except that I'm no longer next door! read more

Can't say enough about this restuarant. Been there a couple times and did not disappoint. Had the house satay and was good enough till I felt like I was going to pop. Courteous staff and fair prices, well be back. read more

Always get the cashew chicken lunch special. Comes with egg drop soup, and spring roll, & rice. It's a large portion & enough to take home for a second meal. Very quick service, & nice atmosphere. read more

Very disappointed with their organization at the front register. After a 50 minute wait, I was given my take out order. 2 other guests went home with nothing. The lobby quickly filled up with other customers several others with orders not ready. I'm hoping when I get home that my order is correct. read more

17 dollars and some change for Springfield style cashew chicken takeout it was small portion and just ok taste. I was sadly disappointed.

Really like this place, service, food and restaurant are great. They use quality ingredients. I just wish they were open more!

Another great meal! The service is great...even on Valentine's day and the food is always delicious! read more

Yen Ching - Chinese Near Me - Ozark, Missouri

way too expensive!!!!!!!!! lord. costs a fortune to eat here and take a family here. i suggest trying other places because their food is no better than anyone else and in fact not as good s many. portions are not big either for the price! we could not afford and in today's economy don't know a lot who could. read more

Best Chinese and Cashew Chicken in the Springfield area hands down. Worth the drive to Ozark.

One of my favorite chinese food places. The general chicken is my favorite dish. Portions are generous and service is great.

Thanks everything was great! Service and food always a treat!! Will return. Have been there many times and have never been disappointed.

Staff is very friendly. Open on Sunday. Large bar and plenty of seating. Place reminds me of Christmas story restaurant. You can order extra vegetables and meat with your dinner which makes it nice if you want to split. read more

Yen Ching - Cute inside. Nice big bar! - Chinese Near Me - Ozark, Missouri

Our family has been coming here for several years. When my kids come from Colorado this is their first choice of restaurants. The fried rice dishes are the best in the area. read more

Good Chinese in Ozark - super clean dining rooms - comfy. I think it might be the best Oriental restaurant in/around SPRINGFIELD.

My family and I went out of our way to eat at Yen Ching, due to reviews and such. To sum it up, we were far less than impressed. Here are a few reasons: - The place was dirty. The table and chairs looked like they had only been brushed off and not really cleaned. The floor was sticky. Some of the plates and utensils were not clean. - Concerning the sweet and sour chicken, it seemed to be cooked with breast meat strips that were cut into chunks. When cooking this type of chicken, it is best to use dark meat. White meat dries out and gets tough. Dark meat is more oily and stays tender. Also, the sauce was not very good. It was too sour. - The fried rice was not really fried. It was basically steamed rice with a few vegetables in it for filler. I would suggest actually frying it and leaving out the filler vegetables - peas, carrots, etc. - The sweet tea was barely sweet and did not have a "tea" flavor. A Chinese restaurant should have very flavorful sweet tea where the sweetness complements and enhances the tea flavor. - It was far too overpriced. For example, a side of fried rice was $8.95. To sum it up, I have had better "Chinese" food in a strip mall. I was expecting something closer to authentic Chinese food, but apparently what this is is an attempt to cook something similar to Chinese food without knowing how to cook Chinese food. I have seen this before where the people doing the cooking were not Chinese at all, just teenagers with an after school job. Anyway, I can mark this one off my list of places to visit again. I would also strongly suggest considering other places for Chinese food. read more

This 5star review is to directly counteract Russell's unfair review below. They aren't a 5star restaurant, but they're a solid 4star restaurant with quality food and don't deserve your overly entitled, immature little fit when you didn't get there in time for lunch. Don't come here and mess with my hometown restaurants without reason. One tip: use the hot mustard, carefully! It's the real deal and it will light you up. read more

Yen Ching was a delight! After a much needed dinner break on the way back from Branson, this was an excellent choice. Just off the highway (which they also have advertisement on the highway exit signs), it was pretty easy to find. The outside of the building is nothing special but very well kept. Upon entering, it was also well kept, clean and very friendly. The waitress was very polite and always kept our drinks filled. The menu selections were pretty average for this type of restaurant but they had a few specialites also. We ended up ordering General's Chicken to share with egg rolls and crab rangoon to start. From beginning to end, everything was great. My only "complaint" would be that the General's Chicken was marked as spicy and it was not spicy at all! Great flavor, but no spice. Everything was quick and fresh. I would definitely go back if I was in the area. And my "add on" comments... ~ The restrooms were well kept and clean ~ They allow split plates/share an entrée read more

So for Chinese food in Ozark, I would say this is the best place that is casual dining ( I consider Maru's to be a step up and a little more dressy). The food is really good and the place is really clean which you do not always find in this area. Serving staff is pretty good and really move with a purpose. I would not recommend the lemonade as it is a different very watered down taste. I switched to a coke and there was a fortune cookie paper in the glass which can happen anywhere so I can let that go. I would recommend this place to anybody that is interested in a Chinese place in Ozark for sure. Good food, good service, good experience. read more

Yen Ching - Great crab Rangoon - Chinese Near Me - Ozark, Missouri

Very generous portions. If you like the Springfield Cashew Chicken, it's one of the best around! To go orders are wonderfully divided and labeled. Great place. read more

Very Good Chinese Cuisine. My personal favorite is the Mongolian Beef. Also their egg rolls are magnificent!!

This is our favorite "Chinese" place in all the land. My favorite dish is Happy Family. Hubs loves the crab rangoon and their fried rice. The menu is fairly diverse and has all the classics like broccoli beef and moo goo along with some more unique things to try. They don't have much in the way of sushi or dessert, but it's enough to keep the kids happy. The best part of eating in at Yen Ching's is definitely the atmosphere. The two dining areas are somewhat different, and it seems there's new decor every time we visit. They do a good job of seating adult diners and families separately so everyone can enjoy. It's a great place for a wicked game of eye spy. read more

Got take out for our family of four. The food all the way around was bland watered down and terrible at best. Our favorite local Chinese restaurant was damage in the flood so we thought we would give them a try. We will not go back, and I will not recommend. Over priced and bad food. read more

Arguably the best Asian cuisine in the Ozark/Nixa areas. Ask for their Korean menu for expanded options. EDIT: Forget I said anything. They removed the Korean menu and things turned meh. Dropping from 4 to 3. read more

Best atmosphere of any restaurant in this area! Very well done and beautiful! The food is great and the spice level is customizable! I love that I can get cashew chicken extra spicy. The non-fried dish selection is great! They also have a wonderful wine and alcohol selection! read more

Yen Ching's food was incredible. Fast and friendly service. The establishment has a nice light setting. The entire place is very clean.

As far as Chinese goes around the Springfield/Branson area, I've never found a better place than this. Food is amazing. Atmosphere is super cool. Nice bar. The cashew chicken, spicey cashew chicken, and general chicken are my favorites, but they have some delicious, more traditional Chinese/Korean dishes too. Nice array of tea options. This is classy enough for a date. Not a hole in the wall like so many other Chinese restaurants around here, that may also be good, but not date night quality good. read more

I like Yen Ching a lot. They have good food and the service is always quick and friendly. We have been here many times. My favorite item on the menu is the pan fried noodles, but I also have enjoyed several other dishes including the general chicken, sweet & sour chicken, and cashew chicken. My husband recently ordered a squid dish and I can't remember what it was called but it was really good and I will probably order that the next time we visit. They have on their menu a combo meal that lets you mix and match items like sweet & sour chicken and cashew chicken, which is great if you can't make your mind up and have a pretty hearty appetite. The portions are huge and we almost always have leftovers. If you order a dish like cashew chicken, it will come with a side of rice. I like that the rice is served separately so I can mix it in with my meal if I choose to. If several in the group order dishes with rice sides, they will sometimes simplify the meal and bring out one big bowl of rice to pass around family style. We think for the price, this is one of the better Asian food options in Ozark. Plus, they have a nice selection of bottled beer, with domestic beers priced around $3.75. read more

This is not my favorite place. The employees are super mean and bring the food late. Also got food poisoning from there. Doctor even said it was from them. The food is way over placed. read more

There are a lot of Chinese Restaurants in the Springfield area but this is my favorite! Food is always hot and fresh and fast. I absolutely love the decor. The soups are phenomenal. My favorite by far is the Yen Ching Cashew Chicken. If you aren't from Springfield then Springfield Cashew Chicken is just gross. Yen Ching Cashew Chicken is the real deal. Just like everybody else in America enjoys their cashew chicken, with sauteed veggies and marinated chicken breast. Never thought I'd get the good stuff again! So glad I found this place! read more

Best tasting Asian food in Ozark. I lived in Korea for over a year. They have the cleanest tasting food. Best seasoning and huge portions. I get the happy family and I eat most of it alone! Lol my wife and little ones have there own favorites but they pick from mine. read more

Great spicy cashew chicken... this is "Springfield style", which means the oyster based sauce is pretty close in consistency to gravy (a nice cornstarch slurry base). The chicken is battered and deep fried. All that being said, it's REALLY good. I can't wait to come and have some more next time I visit my family. Definitely let go of health expectations when eating here. This is a splurge type place for me. read more

This was the worst meal I have eaten in 7 years I eat Chinese food at least once if not twice a month, all across the east coast and mid-west. This is the worst not just Chinese meal I have had, but the worst restaurant meal my family has had in 7 years. Let me count the ways: Price: Each meal was about $2 more than any other restaurant I visit with similar atmosphere and offerings, to include the NE. Serving Size: Portions were less than half of an ordinary lunch serving, I guess they were running out of food because they forgot to give us hardly any. The spring roll that comes with lunch, I did not know they make them so small-why bother?? 1 1/2" long MAYBE and gooey inside. Pre-packaged: My kids like fried rice but cannot eat egg. From fancy to back street 'dives' EVERY Chinese restaurant I have EVER been to has ALWAYS been able to make fried rice for us without the egg. They could not because they make it in bulk not fresh to order. We concluded they do the same with white rice, maybe saving it from the day before and microwaving it for an order-dry and tasteless. Taste: Was none. I ordered Schezuan Vegetable because I love spicy food. Menu clearly indicates in the red text that it is a spicy dish. The sauce was thin and tasted like bath water, only bath water usually has a taste and this sauce had no taste. NONE, not that it was not spicy, which it was not, IT WAS TASTELESS. Same for the broccoli beef dish, sauce was runny, only it had a taste-salt, overpowering and was the ONLY taste, salt. Preparation: Bean sprouts were overcooked, broccoli on mine and broccoli beef was under cooked. Service: Slow. We were there for a week day lunch, there were a few people in, but it took a while for the waiter to come around to us, food delivery was slow. I mentioned how we had been on the road and really was thirsty, we wanted large waters, then I had to ASK for mine to be refilled. Plates not removed, had to ASK for the bill. Customer needs: Since we cannot eat eggs and all the soups had eggs I asked if they would substitute won ton strips for the soup, which he did, he brought a TINY plate of strips-ONE tiny plate to replace THREE bowls of soup. Was there anything good? Well, the bathroom was clean. Why people waste their money for overpriced, tiny portions I don't know, this was horrible. read more

My favorite in the Springfield area. I haven't had anything there that I did not like. My favorite meal is the Pepper Steak / General Chicken combo dinner. I also recommend the Cashew Chicken (of course), Apple Chicken and Fried Tofu. I love the service and the portion sizes are perfect for sharing. PS. The google map to the right is incorrect. It is actually located on the west side of 65 & CC (Freemont Hills exit) read more

Great for takeout or eating there. Service is top notch, they know just how to leave you alone the right amount but take care of you when you need help. Always whatever we order is good. We did go once with a large group and ended up with everyone drinking Pepsi when we had ordered tea, but that could have been a misunderstanding as we were having a lot of fun and probably not clear to the server. We all had a good laugh about our Pep-tea. I'm happy to see they have expanded and so they must be doing well. They also sell Asian merchandise such as clothing and decorative items. read more

Best Chinese in Ozark, and one of the top in the Springfield area. When they do it, the apple chicken is INCREDIBLE!

Now this is what a Chinese restaurant is supposed to be like! Mrs Wales had the snow pea beef and found it to be tender and tasty-a little salty but definitely worth a return visit. I couldn't find what I wanted so I asked for, and they accommodated me, a dish of spicy orange peel beef. It came with fried rice and was a very generous portion. We are getting out of here for about $35 and it was worth every penny. There's no buffet and no drive through. It's a quiet and classy setting worth taking your time to visit and maybe stretching your palate. It is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the Springfield metropolitan area. You won't be sorry. read more

Pretty good food but for $15 a person I would rather go to Applebee's or something nicer.
