This food truck is great! $7 for a plate of rice and meat and it's a heaping portion plus a decent size side of kimchi. There were plenty of regulars there that had their money ready and order ready so it went pretty fast. And they ran out of food by 2:00pm so definitely try to get there before then. The food wasn't as spicy as I'm usually used to so it is definitely more mild to suit a larger customer base which makes sense. I thought the meat was a little to sweet for my taste but the food was comfort food for me nonetheless. I would definitely order from there again whenever I'm in DC at lunchtime.

Amazing bibimibop and jap chae/glass noodles! Very generous portion sizes with friendly service. I was able to swap out the white rice for jap chae for an extra $2, and it was totally worth it. I also added a fried egg, which made the meal even tastier. Overall, a very satisfying meal for $12, not bad!

Horrible. I actually got this mixed up with the KOrengy cart which is the same color and also sells Korean fast food. My apologies. This cart was in Franklin Park last Wednesday (11/2/2011). I love Korean Fast Food and have developed quite the palate for it during my many trips to Korea. I got spoiled living in Los Angeles' Koreatown and then frequenting NYC's Koreatown at my favorite Korean fast food spot "Woorijip". I saw this cart and got excited. The price was right ($8) for a spicy bulgogi plate and the ingredients looked fresh. Boy was I bitter when I saw the lady pour this saucy looking, Sloppy Joe-inspired substance over my white rice. It didn't smell good at all. Yes, I know Kimchi smells bad, I expect that, but this smell wasn't the Kimchi. Anyway, I expected spicy and really it wasn't. I have no idea what they were thinking. I thought I would get the bulgogi plain topped with a spicy hot sauce, not this Sloppy Joe crap. It was basically inedible. That was a shame because the veggies were really yummy and plentiful. Too bad the main course was pretty awful. Hardly any meat and the meat that was there was sort of like a mystery meat. It was really weird in consistency. I had to basically throw it out. I couldn't eat it. I will not be hitting up this cart again.

This place is the second location of the L St. Bulgogi Cart, which gets rave reviews (http://www.yelp.com/biz/l-street-vending-bulgogi-cart-washington). I just happened to stumble across their second location, and gave it a shot. The spicy bulgogi is quite excellent, as is their kim chi and even the iceburg lettuce with some citrusy/vinegary vinaigrette is pretty good. I will be sure to try the Bibimbap next time. The line is a little slow to move, but today was their first time at the new location, so I think they're working out some kinks with the new truck. Cost was $7 for your choice of box, with just about any combination you want. Not the best Korean I've ever had, but pretty close. Also, these people are based out of Annandale, VA which is pretty much the biggest pocket of Koreans in the entire DC-metro area. It's like getting Vietnamese food from Eden Center; it doesn't get any more authentic. Completely unrelated, but the guy who runs the truck has a pretty hilariously broken-english Twitter, which at the time of this review only had four tweets. One of which reads: "we will closed door be for customer coming... because its illegal... so when you guys come? please knock the door...". So if the door is closed, be sure to knock! All in all, while $7 is still a bit on the pricer end of other Korean food trucks I've visited (granted not in DC), I would still say that this place is a great value. Highly recommended.

The meats taste really good, but overall I did not think it was a great meal. You basically get a lot of meat and rice, a tiny portion of lettuce and an even smaller side of kimchi. I got the beef bulgogi and the spicy beef bulgogi. Both were marinated extremely well and cooked perfectly. It was tender, juicy and the flavors were really good. If i were forced to pick a favorite, I think the spicy beef slightly edges out the regular beef. But I wouldn't really consider their servings as "full meals". If all you are looking for is meat and rice, this truck will surely hit the spot. Compared to the other food trucks Yellowvendor portions are bigger, so you will definitely be satisfied. But if you're looking for a little more complete meal the other Korean food trucks are the way to go. If only they integrate some more sides or veggies into their meals I think this would be a 4-5 star spot! (In other reviews and pictures I do see more veggies and sides in the meals, so maybe they just ran out on the day I was there.)

Great lunch option and big portion sizes to fill you up! The meat is juicy and tasty! Kimchi on the side is a great compliment.

Just outside the L'Enfant Plaza Metro stop (on the Maryland Ave side), you'll know you're in the right place by the crowds of Federal office workers queuing up for their favorite truck. There's a great variety from southern soul food to barbeque, from pho and banh-mi to Indonesion, from Philly cheese steaks to gyros. My daughters each had beef pho from the Pho-Nation and Vietnamese Food trucks (piping hot flavorful broth, plenty of noodles, slices of tender beef, cilantro, and accompanied with hot sauce and lime wedges on the side); my wife had the falafel salad from the Quick Bites truck which was outstandingly tasty and light, made with a chickpea and fava bean combination with a herb blend that gave them a unique green color on the inside; while I had the gyro platter from the same truck. Excellent lamb meat, well-seasoned, good tzatziki sauce, and accompanied by a fresh salad and stewed chickpeas. About $9 each for these meals and the trucks take credit cards. Don't settle for the tourist trap food trucks lined up near the Smithsonian museums -- these are terrible with microwaved pizza slices and hot dogs only ... make the short walk to these real food trucks and you won't be disappointed.

I was still a little hesitant until this nice woman came along and vouched for the food. I had no idea about what to order, but as soon as I saw her food come out I was sold. I told the guys to give me exactly what she had, which included a quarter chicken, corn, and potatoes. I got back up to my office and enjoyed all of it. The chicken was well done and well seasoned, the corn was tasty, and the potatoes were better than what I was expecting. Can't really explain it but they were like roasted and mashed at the same time.. whatever it was it was great! Oh and that sweet orange sauce that they gave me took the chicken to another level. Insert fire emojis Lastly, the guys working the truck were some of the coolest food truck people that I've ever interacted with. Combine that with good food and you can def count on my coming back again.

Both times I've ordered the same thing - a quarter dark meat with one side. It comes with basmati rice (which you can sub out for a different side) and a choice of a salad, coleslaw, and corn. I've chosen the coleslaw both times - I find it so unique, with its cabbage and basil-like dressing. Definitely NOT your usual slaw. I will try the corn one of these days, though. On to the chicken - They give you a good amount of chicken and it is very, very juicy. I can't comment about the skin (I don't eat the skin, I take it off...I know to some of you that's a sin!) but my co-workers have previously commented that it is nicely seasoned. They also provide you with a mild barbeque sauce, and today they gave me a new sauce, which was curry-based. It's slightly thicker than the barbeque sauce, which while it has good flavor, is a bit thinner (it complements, not overpowers, the chicken). I alternated between both sauces today. I have to also complement the owner/manager - I had exactly $8 in cash (keep forgetting about the taxes for food trucks!) so he let me go without paying the $.80, that was really nice of him. I'll be sure to give it back to him next time! Overall, a solid, filling meal, and I would return!

**** 4.5 stars ****…read more As one of the progenitors of "better" street food for the DC area, Andy Kim and his family have been providing a quality lunch time meal at a fantastic price for several years now at their famous L St cart (http://www.yelp.com/biz/bulgogi-cart-washington#hrid:P03Wi3K_BGfBmyV7WowE_g). I'm not sure whether the idea to open up this additional spot was to cash in on the food truck craze currently engulfing the District, or if he just wanted a second location and this was more convenient than lugging around another cart each day. Whatever the reason, I'm glad he's here. This new location, right in front of the Metro Center station, is marginally closer to me, and it's a pleasant shady walk the whole way around noon. The truck (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/GD4QOboiYcXUKbFw5DvjbA?select=8kLF59cmaVQyGxu6x_Mzdw) is just as easy to spot as the cart ever was, so just look for the bright yellow spot in the midst of drab grey buildings. Andy said that he and his dad are now manning this truck, while his mom and sister take over operations back at the original cart. The prices are all the same as before, $7 for any combo of beef or chicken, spicy or not, however they do not offer the kimbap sushi here like they do at the cart, which doesn't really affect me. I'm not sure if they make all the sauce at once, and then distribute it among the two locations each day, but it definitely tasted slightly different than what I've gotten from my visits to the L St cart. The 3 times I've picked up my usual spicy combo (a mix of half spicy chicken and half spicy bulgogi) from here it has been the perfect balance of heat and flavor. Add in a double order of their sweet vinegar "salad" to cool off the heat and I'm totally set. That's really the main reason I'm bumping this up to a 4.5, because at $7 for a giant plate of food this is really tough to beat. If they could ever get their kimchi to not suck I would probably give them a 5 and put them right up there with Fojol Brothers.
