In my quest to locate cool, lesser known places, I stumbled across Jet Records while searching online and finally had a chance to visit. The store occupies the same building as a jet ski repair shop, which is a little odd to say the least, but trust me when I say that this place is a hidden gem. Specializing in traditional heavy metal, power metal and hard rock, it was right up my alley, and the gentleman that was working on the day I visited was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time go through the CDs they keep behind the counter with me so that I could pick out some sick discs. Indeed, although Jet Records is definitely more focused on vinyl, they also have a small yet killer CD selection and being more of a CD guy I walked away extremely satisfied, picking up new discs from Glacier and Leather Witch plus some used Anthrax and Armored Saint. If you're into old school trad/heavy metal, power metal or hard rock, you owe it to yourself to check out Jet Records.

There is quite the wide selection of records, and they also buy records. We brought some of ours to sell, and after inspecting the condition, we were given decently good money back on them. If I have more time in the future, I would definitely go take a deeper look at their offerings. This was a fun little adventure that's worth the trip!

The visit did not disappoint, as I left with more records than my carry on would hold. Thankfully, VRP had an extra box, and wrapped my stash up carefully and pointed me to the closest post office. The guy at VRP told me about media mail. This was amazing, as I was able to ship almost 20 records home for under $20! The shop does tons of cool listening events for new releases. The Owner "RILEY" is a Super Nice Guy, and he is Extremely knowledgeable about Music and Movies. JOEL is his brother and is the Owner as well. Their prices on DVD (and some Blueray) movies are as low a $1, though most of his movies are fairly priced, and are Sequenced in "Alphabetical" order. He has a Expansive VARIETY of ALBUMS as well. He even has Music CDS !, and "Hard to Find" Albums, DVDS, CDS and Blu-rays. RILEY (who I met) is just a REALLY GOOD GUY ! He is a "RARE BREED" when it comes to Business Owners these days.
