The cost to go 5.2 miles to San Angelo Airport was over $50.00!!!! As we were driving out of our subdivision, says, oh , I think I'm lost!!! WTH, is he trying to charge me extra mileage??? To make matters worse, he hit a large dog on Knickerbocker. I had to use Yellow Cab because the Lyft and Uber app couldn't locate my address. We are a new build that is 1 year old now. Corrected the issue with Lyft so now that's who we will you in the future. Oh well, live and learn. read more

My Son is handicapped and uses Yellow Cab often 2-3 times a week. They do have a $30 hourly rate or pay a $2 initial fee + $4 per mile and its much better then Red Ball, which is $4 a mile period, plus Red Ball doesn't have handicapped vans. Yes, Yellow cab and Checkered Cab have the same owner. The owner runs a good business and we Love them. We can get 10 rides from Yellow cab versus 6 rides from Red Ball for the same amount monthly. So who are we going to use, Yellow Cab!! Its a "No Brainer"!!! The only one in town that works 24/7 and they also takes time calls. You do not have to call ahead if you can't, but its preferred 1-2 hours, but not 24 hours like some. read more

Arrived at SJT airport at 4 pm and called for a cab to Goodfellow AFB. After checking Uber which was $38, we opted for the cab when quoted $25 for two of us (12.50 each). The dispatcher said she would try to get us into a van already called for other customers at airport with a nearby destination. Took about 10 minutes for the cab to get there and the other folks graciously allowed us to be dropped off first as the base was on the way to their house. No fuss, no games, just straight to our destination with a pleasant lady driver who actually helped load and unload luggage. She asked for the exact amount quoted and earned a modest tip, only because I was strapped for cash. Heard Red Ball Express is expensive and this was cheaper than Uber so why use anymore else? read more

DO NOT USE this cab service! I have used this company several times over the course of a few months. I have had one good driver, however the other drivers I've had were horrible. One driver would stop short and fast causing me to hit my knees on the passenger seat even with a seat belt on. Another drove in two lanes. The several cabs I have been in have all smelled funny and were very dirty. In addition to the unpleasant rides, the woman on dispatch is extremely rude! She even hung up on me once. Checker Cab is the same company as Yellowcab so I would avoid them as well and try the other companies in town: Red Ball and Wade's taxi services. read more

As a person who likes to be prepared I called for a cab 3 hours in advance, when I got out of my flight and went to get my cab I saw a guy who got out of the plane before me take my cab after I called to complain they told me that they will send one right away it took nearly 2 hours for the next taxi to arrive. read more

Such a shame. They have been good before today, and with courteous drivers, but they just left my husband stranded before a flight!! No contact, we had to reach out to them twice to find out what was happening and now are rushing to find another way for him to get to the airport. Terrible service with this company. I called and asked for a cab to come pick us up in 45 minutes, and was told they'd be there. I waited about 20 minutes after the time they were supposed to pick us up, and called the company again to inquire about the location. I was told that the cab was on its way and 10 minutes away...15 minutes later, no cab. We ended up just having a friend pick us up, but I know the cab never showed up because they never even called me back. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company! read more

I am handicapped and I have to ride a cab a lot because I don't have a drivers license. Yellow cab/Checker cab is the only cab service in my town that has handicapped vans. This is a must for me. I Love this company. The employees are friendly and courteous, and the owner wouldn't have it any other way. I also like the fact that all of the drivers are background checked. They don't always advertise that they have a $30 hourly rate, but they do or you can pay by the mile. Red Ball only has an hourly rate which is more money in the long run for me. Occasionally, you may have to wait a little longer, but most of the time they arrive 15 minutes early if you put a time call in. Plus they are open 24/7. I'm not sure why they are getting such low ratings. Maybe some people are just too hard to please. read more

Had a doctor appointment so my husband booked the night before ,, five minutes after they were due to arrive I called and was told they didn't have it down but they would send one in five/ten minutes ,, 40 minutes later after a canceled appt she turned up and when I said I had tried to call but their line was busy and cancel she said I can't expect to call and have them there in 5 minutes,, I told her it was booked last night and if they didn't have it down how did she know which apartment to show up at ,, which she did and I hadn't mentioned that when I called ,,, will not use ever again !!!! read more

We called 2 hours in advance and they said they would be here a little early. We were ready, waiting and waiting. We called asking if they were having trouble finding our home......we were told, "He was on his way." We waited and waited. They never showed up nor called to ask for directions. After reading the reviews on here, I was a bit hesitant but I called anyway because I needed a ride to the airport. I called yellow cab but they sent a checker cab shuttle instead. No big deal as long as I get to where I needed to go (stated it here in case it's a deciding factor to someone). The dispatch was friendly and called me to let me know it was a checker cab as she ran both yellow and checker. I'm glad she didn't leave me out to fend for myself. I entered the shuttle and I was highly disappointed. The cab was dirty and had a ridiculously strong odor of cigarette smoke, covered with perfume. The seats had burn holes and the ceiling was dusty...not your occasional kind of dust but your "cab haven't been cleaned in some years" kinda dust. The driver was friendly as well and started a conversation. Even though the customer service I experienced was good, I had to change my shirt when I got to the airport because the smell of smoke lingered. read more

Like many others, I wasn't impressed with the reviews I saw on the web for any taxi service in San Angelo, TX. But I needed to take one to the airport on the morning of January 22nd. I chose Yellow Cab (325-655-5555) because they did have one good review. First and foremost, I was impressed with my interaction with the middle-aged female that I booked my cab with the day before. Early the next morning, I called again to see if I could be picked up an hour earlier, so I could catch the earlier flight. She was right on the proverbial money, and the cab came on time the hour earlier. In my interaction with her and in discussing the price, she said it varies from $35 to $45 dollars, depending upon how long they had to wait at the pick up site for the person to come out and get in the cab. But then she added that if I wanted the hourly rate, she'd it would only be $30. I told her in advance, let's just make it $35 even, and for the driver to have the receipt ready. She did and he did. My driver was named Willy. He was professional, knowledgable and very helpful with the bags at the airport. I gave him a $5 tip. I work Asia-wide and have for over thirty years. That's a lot of taxi rides. Yellow cab and Willy were in the top 10% for me. Hope this helps. read more

The driver was on time, friendly, and courteous. When we arrived at San Angelo Regional Airport, it wasn't open so the driver sat and talked to me until the airport opened. HORRIBLE!!! Do not use if you don't absolutely have too!! Slow, RUDE, inpatient & mean service from Management. They say you can pay $30 for an hour but won't wait a few minutes before leaving you for a scheduled 15 minute ride. I spoke with shift Manager and Owner who apparently said he wanted to file a complaint on me because they have other customers to get too & I wasn't out there & took too long, 8 minutes because I was leaving hotel room to get too lobby!! No patience & don't care at all about their customers. After I called to find out problem, Lady shift manager wouldn't even send another cab because I wanted to check around on other services that may be quicker so she just cancelled my cab altogether!!! Poor customer service and seem to think they have enough customers to not take care of scheduling ones. Owner just wanted to yell at me & argue completely unprofessional!! read more
