Made reservation for 0515 am for the Hyatt on broad Street to go to the VA hospital for surgery. Had to end up walking to the VA at 0530 hours because the cab never showed up and when I called the company I was told there were no cabs period. Bottom Line making a reservation does absolutely nothing. Such a waste. read more

This is, without any shadow of a doubt, the absolute worst taxi service I have ever encountered. Period. To list the pros: polite customer service, good prices ($3/person anywhere on post), nice drivers To list the negatives: complete lack of cab service in any timely fashion I just waited almost 1.5hrs for a cab that never showed up - I had to call and cancel as the store would have closed before I made it there. Also, earlier this week at 6am I called for a cab that didn't show up until 40min later. That was because the only cab on post was at the airport, meaning the only cab company allowed to operate on post, had no cabs on post. I'm not sure what imagined reason Fort Gordon has for only allowing Yellow Cab to contract as the monopoly transportation provider here, but it is clearly misguided. I'm also not really sure how this review can help anyone, because they are the only cab service to choose from. I guess the only lesson here is to get a rental car in advance. If your orders don't allow for one, get one anyways or prepare to walk. The average wait time is longer than it takes to walk across the post anyways, so it boggles my mind why the military will not let any other cab companies operate here. read more

This is ridiculous. It is your BUSINESS to pick up/drop off people and/or package, and ON TIME I might add!!! Negative red stars would be in right order to efficaciously describe this company. When I called for service (2 hours prior to service needing to be rendered mind you) I let them know I would be needing to be picked up PROMPTLY at 8:10AM as I needed to drop my son off at school. A 2.7 mile short trip. My car had neglected to run the weekend prior. In any case, the driver was late. When I called, I was told 7 more minutes. 15 minutes fly by and needless to say I am NOT thrilled. However, I declined to sound irate on the phone, concerned but not upset, even though my son is now late for school. I asked about some sort of discount or incentive in retribution of the lateness and was of course told NO! As to the reason behind the faulty service, "Something happened to the driver's car." A few things wrong with that statement: A. Not my problem. B. If he didn't get into an accident then there is not much of a valid excuse because C. Your cabs should be in good standing/service BEFORE you dispatch them. All in all....The cab service failed to do their job properly. If you offer a service, give a service! read more

Not at all good. Multiple times have I called and had ridiculous wait times. Upwards of 40 minutes with multiple calls watching multiple taxis drive past as if I don't even exist. Beyond this, most recently I waited about 30 minutes and the cab finally showed up - just for the driver to tell ME to hurry up. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

The worst of the worst. It doesn't matter which one of their drivers you get, they're all useless. Quoted times and waiting passengers mean absolutely nothing to them. If you have a deadline and/or somewhere to be at a certain time, don't bother using this company. I have tried everything with this company from directly contacting drivers to confirming with dispatch that cabs were on their way, it never ever works out. All I can say is THANK GOD UBER HAS COME TO AUGUSTA. Forget the fact that it's half the price, it's just mind-blowing when the driver actually shows up at within the quoted waittime. Can I give these fools zero stars? Worst taxi service ever! I am so fed up with the shitty service they provide! My girlfriend had a 525 AM flight today, called at 330 AM and was quoted 10 mins for the taxi... The stupid stupid taxi cab driver couldn't figure out where he was and how to get to me... It is now 440 AM and the taxi finally picked my girlfriend up. Perfect! She's most likely going to miss her flight! And we can pay more out of pocket now for this shitty service. Unfortunately yellow cab of augusta is contracted with fort gordon so there isn't much I can do about it.... Or can I? Hope to not see this piece of shit taxi service around for much longer. This is the worst experience I've ever had with any sort of customer service company. I called for a cab and was told they would be there to pick me up soon, I called back a half hour later and an hour later and was told both times that the driver would be there to get me in a few minutes. After waiting for an hour and a half I finally got a call from the driver telling me he would be there in 10 minutes, he finally showed up 30 minutes later. When he arrived I wasn't sure if he was there for me or not because there was a woman sitting in the front seat who looked like she was passed out. When I did get in the cab it had a strange smell and the driver barely acknowledged my presence. I will never again use Yellow Cab in Augusta. read more

Called fir a cab at 6:15 PM on a Saturday in Evans, so I expected a bit of a delay being a weekend night, but what I got at 8:05 (two hours later) was a cab that smelled like 10 sticks of incense was simaultaniously being burnt and a starting wage of $4.25 (is this normal? I haven't lived here long). I'm not sure how the rest of Augusta companies are, but I definitely won't be calling Yellow Cab again. read more

Does not even deserve 1 star, but that was the lowest rating allowed. Our office admin arranged at noon for a taxi to pick me up at 6:20pm. When the taxi had not arrived by 6:30, I called dispatch and was informed they were on the way. When the taxi had not arrived by 6:40 I called dispatch again and they said they would check the location of the driver and have him contact me. When the driver called at 6:45 he said he was still 25 minutes away!!! As a result, I was very late for an important business dinner. Our company will NEVER use Yellow Cab again. read more

Worst cab service, they don't care about the customer, I'm a soldier at fort Gordon, I called the night before to schedule the pick up for 4:45am as I had a flight leaving at 6:30am, the airport is only 15 min away. I called to confirm at 4:15am, The taxi got there at 5:30am the guy couldn't pick up the luggage cause he had a hernia and I ended up missing my flight. I got delayed 3 hrs. They don't care because the are the only cab company that goes into fort Gordon military base, so if you are a soldier on base you have no choice. I will be excalating this with Battalion Commander. If you had similar experience please escalate it, we need a different cab company or more competition. read more

Horrible service! If I could rate this company negative stars, I would. I needed a cab to drive me to the mechanic's shop to pick up my car. Because it was Saturday morning and because I live in the suburbs (so to speak), I expected to wait. But what I got was ridiculous. The first time I called, the dispatcher was polite. She stated that the driver had one other person "out your way" to pick up and drop off, that I was next in line, and she'd call me when he was on his way. An hour later, I hadn't heard anything, so I called for an update. The dispatcher was again polite, but the story changed. She then stated that they were understaffed, that she had called other drivers in, that she had "a few getting ready to come on," and that someone would be on his way to me shortly. She also stated she'd call me when that happened. Half an hour later, I was still cab-less, so I called for an update. I got voicemail. Three times. By that time, I was wondering if I should call another company, but I was afraid of starting the same waiting cycle over again, and I was running out of time. Half an hour later -- over two hours after my initial call -- no one had returned my call, so I called back. On this call, the dispatcher dropped any attempt to be polite (though I had not stopped being polite). When I told her I had been waiting over two hours, she gave a trite apology and said she'd check in with the driver "because I sent him your way." When she came back, she stated the driver "got turned around" (which I took to mean "lost") and was on his way. At that point, I said that was great but that I still wanted to lodge a complaint about the service and the obvious inconsistencies in what I'd been told all morning. After I'd lodged my complaint, the dispatcher said "Okay, so do you still need a cab?" I nearly lost it. OF COURSE I still needed a cab, and I told her as much. Her reply that was she'd call me when one was on the way. That would have been sort of okay -- except that she'd JUST told me one already was. At that point, I pointed out the blatant lie and dropped all pretense of politeness myself. "Which is it? Is he already on his way like you said, or am I going to be waiting another hour? Or can you not get anyone out here at all?" And she hung up on me. At that point, I called a different company (Sunshine Taxi; check out my review for them) who picked me up within 20 minutes. I will never ever ever call Yellow Cab again. I could have dealt with a wait -- if they'd been honest about it -- and even unclean cabs, slightly less-than-polite service and many other things, but I will not ever deal with a company who lies to its customers and is outright rude to them. read more

I only took a very short trip from Medical College to Augusta State. The dispatcher was very polite, but that may just be because I am a mean person from the north. The cab came within minutes to the apartment, and it was an uneventful trip. I did notice that the cab was brand new. Super clean. Maybe I was the first passenger? read more

I've been meaning to write this for a good while. Because this is the only taxi company Fort Gordon partners with, this is the best military members have to deal with. Many cab drivers are not friendly and feel inconvenienced by service members using the service. Understandably, there are many immature individuals that make up the market on Fort Gordon, however to have a biased mentality for all patrons is a bit unprofessional. I find it rude to assume passengers are okay with the driver smoking cigarettes or vaping in the vehicle. Myself and may others don't find it okay, and I'm personally appalled by a vehicle reeking of cigarette smoke, and I'm all the more disgusted when a driver smokes in the car and the smoke fills the car. If the drivers whine about no tips from service members, this may be one of the reasons why they don't get a tip; I don't tip if the driver takes into consideration the comfort of passengers in this regard. In addition to the rudeness, with the numerous cabs available on base, the wait times I've experienced, it's unreal. Quote times for 45 minutes to an hour, during non-surge hours?!? Again, because this is the only company on base, you have to sit and wait. Several times, after the expected wait time has passed, I've called the dispatch, who would get in contact with the driver, and the driver claims he/she made contact with the patron, but there was no response, so the ride was cancelled. This should get no stars! I'm from New York City and I now live in Fort Gordon and this taxi is the worst. I thought NYC taxis sucked but never mind that! I have twins and this one taxi driver has a nerve to charge me for them, like excuse me, they are 2 months old. That same driver also gave me a problem when i came in the taxi with my moby wrap without car seats. In NYC they never said anything and I have a 5 year old son and I've always took him around in my moby wrap in and out of taxis all around the city. I keep getting that guy too, which is a huge headache. NEWBORNS SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED! By the way not all do this, its just this one guy...so far. Oh yeah and they take forever to come most of the time and forget about getting a taxi back to the base.
