We called back to cancel and was told that we couldn't receive a refund only a travel credit. We don't live in this area and will never be able to use this credit. From Atlanta to Augusta... Very uncomfortable ride. The shuttle shook the entire time. I felt like I was on a speed boat going at a fast rate speed on the ocean. Aggravated my back with all the shaking and jumping and kept feeling like I had to use the restrooms after I used the restroom. This shuttle need to go to maintenance and get serious inspections and tune up. Fasten the plexiglass to the aluminum bar- the screws are missing clacked in everyone's hear the entire ride. Setup a reservation for 10/11/2025 with return on 10/18/2025 from Augusta to Atlanta. Round trip with tip $311.00. I received a text on 10/10/2025 saying no parking was available and i would need to be dropped off. I booked with them so I could leave my car and ride to Atlanta. Our flight back with shuttle would be after midnight. I had no one available to pick us up that late. I called to get a cancellation. They told me only a credit for future use would be credited. I called my credit card company put this in dispute. How are you going to say no refunds. I do not give money away for no services. I will never use them or recommend them to anyone. read more

I booked and paid for my son to be picked up from the Atlanta GA airport and transported to the Augusta GA office where he could then take an Uber from that office to his final destination. My son had been traveling January 1st since 5 am. He arrived to Atlanta at 1:30 pm and his trip was scheduled for 3 pm. He found the Groome Transportation shuttles and spoke to one of the drivers whom I later found out worked for the Columbus office. He showed her his phone with his itinerary on it and she told him he was in the right place and to get on the shuttle. So he did. He was conversing with the others on the shuttle and realized he was being driven to Columbus. This is all new for him and seeing as he spoke to your driver he assumed this was normal and she would then be driving him to Augusta right after that. During their stop in Columbus GA at Fort Moore your driver got into an argument with another soldier on the shuttle due to having forgotten one of their bags on the sidewalk at the airport. After the other soldiers were dropped off my son asked your driver what time he could expect to arrive in Augusta, she told him she wasn't supposed to take him to Augusta. He said yes, that is what my reservation shows and she said she had him mistaken for someone else and checked him in under someone else's name completely. I called the office in Augusta and spoke to someone (Latasha) she said that she would have him on the first bus BACK to Atlanta that she could. Once he was on that bus his arrival back to Atlanta was 7 pm. Your employee (Latasha) told me and my son both that she "might" be able to get him on another shuttle at 11 pm or 12 am but they were both full so she was "trying to work something out". My son is a service member who was due to be back to the base prior to 11:59 pm or he could be counted as AWOL which could result in him being chaptered out of the military. He is an 18 year old kid, he showed her his itinerary and she told him it was right and to get on the shuttle! So he did! Their employee Latasha told me she would issue me a refund and I paid for my son to take an Uber rather than risk him being late. Today, Jan 7th I called due to not seeing a refund pending and was told by a very rude employee who stated she was the operations manager for the Augusta office that she would not be giving me a refund. I use this service when I don't feel like driving to Atlanta's airport. Please know that if you are not on the van within the 5 minute grace period, they will most likely leave you. I'm only leaving a 4 stars because the passenger that sat next to me must've lost his headphones. Listening to TikToKs for a two hour ride at 11 PM was a bit annoying. Most passengers will respect the other passengers, but every once in awhile you may get someone on your ride that doesn't. Again if you ever need to get to Atlanta and don't feel like driving, this is a great affordable alternative. $60 + tip each way. Win-win! Bonus Tip: The parking lot at Groome can quickly fill-up. Give yourself time to find parking just in case the parking spots are limited or get someone to drop you off. read more

I will never use this transportation service again for starters as soon as we walked into the lobby at the transportation place, the lady at the front desk was knocked out sleep with her head down. We barely made it to our boarding gate on time because the driver decided to stop and pick up other people and wait on other people. then on the way back home, I was bitten by bugs, which means that the van is not clean and then once I picked my car up from the transportation place, someone was taping with my vehicle and cut the string off of my gas cap in an attempt to try to cipher gas. This transportation company is horrible and is not a safe place to leave your vehicle if you're traveling out of town. Maybe if the workers patrolled the area instead of sleeping then they probably would have saw someone tampering with my vehicle. I will never use this company again I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I recently used this service last minute for a flight I had out of Atlanta. The driver I had for my trip to Atlanta was great. He was informative on the process, answered all my questions and he was nice. He let us know that he had another stop to make before we got to Atlanta but the drive was so quick I barely realized he stopped. The reason why I am giving this company at 3 star rating when it should get a 4 is because of the driver who picked me up from Atlanta. The driver arrived about 15-20 minutes later than the scheduled pick up time. If there was an issue with why he was late, the passengers should have received a text message or at least received an apology from the driver when he arrived. The driver had the air on high even though it was extremely cold outside. The trip took longer than expected and it was extremely uncomfortable. For the price, $50 there & $50 back, I would think the service would be top notch but it wasn't. read more

I booked my son on the 10 PM shuttle from Atlanta to Augusta. I did it online. I had to put in his airline, flight number and time of arrival. I had to provide his cell number, a secondary cell number and an email address. His flight arrived late, but still before 10 PM. He waited for his bag and went to the pickup spot. It was a few minutes after 10. No shuttle. He asked the Columbus driver who was waiting there about it and they told him it would be there shortly. No phone call from the driver to either of us, no text, and no email. He calls the office and they tell him the next shuttle is midnight. I call the office and was told the driver had come and gone. I asked if they even attempted to contact my son or if they even checked flight status of their passengers. The snotty woman informed me they didn't do that. WTF?? Why do we have to provide all the CONTACT INFO???? Terrible customer service. read more

Groome Transportation might be a godsend. I travel from time to time and most of my flights are out of Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. There's an airport in Augusta, GA, but my fellow Augustans know what's up. :) Anyway, the drive from Augusta to Atlanta is only 2 hours, but boy are they brutal. This is why Groome Transportation is alright with me. I recently traveled to the West Coast and I knew the time change would throw me off slightly, so I opted to use the Groome Transportation shuttle from Augusta to Atlanta instead of driving. It was a good choice. I had an extremely early flight. I booked a round trip with the company from Augusta to the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. The total cost was $98, which I didn't mind. They even picked me up from my home. I later found out that they were conveniently located about 5 minutes from me, but that was information for the next time. The company takes about 15 trips a day and you can catch them at anytime. I was the only traveler for my 6AM flight, but the driver was really nice and he and I talked the entire trip. When we arrived in Atlanta, he dropped me off right in front of my airline and I was on my way. My return ride was just as seamless. My flight arrived back to Atlanta at 12AM. This time there were two other passengers waiting. We waited for about 15 minutes and then loaded the shuttle. We arrived at the Groome Transportation headquarters first to drop off the two passengers and I was last to exit. Groome Transportation dropped me off at my residence. I have no complaints. I'm not sure how smoothly this goes with weekend flights, but I hope the service is the same. I departed on a Thursday and returned on a Monday. I believe that's why there was no fuss. The company is trusted. The staff is nice and they get rave reviews during Augusta's busiest time of year, which is in April for the Masters. Check them out. I think it' s well worth it. read more

The ride to the ATL airport was good. We got here on time and the driver was very sweet. When we returned we landed 5 minutes prior to landing time but the shuttle bus that takes you from the international airport to the domestic airport must've been running behind because we made it to the pick up point at 1007 pm. So now instead of having a bus to come every 30 minutes, we had to wait an hour. Now we will get home super late. If you're flying domestically, it's good but don't fly internationally because the airport is late transferring you, grooms will leave you. If they would've given us a 10 minute grace period we would've been on the bus on the way home to our families. Smh. I'm disappointed. read more

No attempts were made to call me an confirm if I am waiting for the shuttle. Made several attempts to call their office to confirm my reservation in the next one, and check the location. The driver of my ride to Atlanta needs to be fired. My aging parents gave him a very generous tip in advance​ although​ it's his job to load customers' luggage into the van in the first place. The driver stood around and decided he wasn't going to load my bags into the van and I had to ask him to help. His response was "Oh you want ME to do it". I was beyond appalled. And THEN when we got to the airport, he dropped everyone off at one same terminal and told us to get out because he's only allowed to make one stop. And AGAIN he did not help with any of the luggage​. One of the passengers was kind enough to help​ the rest of us and then we all had to walk a Very Long distance to each of our airline terminals. This is not acceptable. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card provider. read more

I've only taken the shuttle once--from Atlanta to Augusta--and was very happy with the experience. It was the fraction of a price of a rental car and avoided us having to drive while exhausted. The driver was professional, even when we inadvertently delayed the shuttle because we couldn't find one of our car seats (turned out it was with the oversized luggage). Based on the other reviews, it sounds like the experience is hit or miss depending on the specific driver. Ours was great. My only personal preference would be a scheduled 15 stop at one of the rest areas along the way. read more

Wife & I paid for reservations from Augusta to ATL & back. The ride to ATL was fine. The driver was very careful to make sure he had all scheduled passengers on board. This was not a straightforward process - he had to go back and forth into the office and make multiple calls before it was straight. He drove carefully and got us there a few minutes early. On the way back, our bags were the last ones off the belt, and the van was gone when we got to the pickup point. Note that Groome picked the return trip pickup time based on our flight. Obviously they cut it too tight. The plane was right on time, not late. I tried calling the Augusta number at least ten times to make sure we'd have a ride on the next van, and never got through, except to a reservation guy in Chattanooga who was no help at all. We stood in the cold for over an hour, because we sure did not want to miss the next van. There were about a dozen people waiting with us, mostly soldiers going to Fort Gordon. Turns out there were two empty seats, but rather than giving them to us based on our reservations, they were sold as the van drove up to two guys who did not have a reservation!!! So I called again, and finally got through to the Augusta office. Were they helpful and apologetic? No they were not. They offered two seats on the NEXT shuttle, another 1-1/2 hours later. So all told we waited in the cold for about 3 hours, and got home at 1230 AM instead of 930 PM. The reservation system should pick departure times that passengers can make. And paid passengers who miss a shuttle should get moved to the next available open seats, not left standing in the cold. The airlines do this all the time - automatically. Will we do this again? No. Based on how Groome works, there is a real risk of no trip home. Reminds me of the way Delta cancels the last flight of the day to Augusta if it does not have enough passengers flying. read more

12/27/21 On 12/25/21 I used there service from ATL airport to Augusta it was a nightmare. My reservation was for 11:15pm no shuttle came and when I called the office I was told it was canceled and I had been rescheduled for 12/26/21 at 7:00am. Trying to find a hotel room at midnight on a holiday is a challenge. They never notified me or to date compensated me or even apologized. read more

My husband is coming home from Singapore and he has been in transit for 23 hours. As he would be completely exhausted and unable to safely drive, I decided to take my friend's suggestion and call Groome Transportation. I called and contacted a representative this morning at 7:30 AM about the need for a shuttle this evening at 5:00 PM. The man said, "there should be no problem when he arrives and he will have a seat." He arrived at 4:15 and waited until 5:00 PM. There was no room. Too many people without reservations were allowed to board and there was no room for my husband. He is a medium build and can easily fit anywhere. Now he has to rent a car one way from Atlanta and pay per mile for the 159 mile ride home. I found out from a Groome representative at the Tennessee location that this driver left someone else who had a reservation yesterday. At least Avis was able to rent my husband a car and it was a red Camaro convertible no less. I guess that the only dependable option from Atlanta is the car rental company! Way to go Avis!! 9/9/2014 Update: My husband was almost in a wreck on the way home. After 2 plus hours of driving, he felt awake but was apparently dozing off. Thank goodness that no other drivers were around when he was fish-tailing and loosing control of the car. He called me and I talked to him the rest of the way, so he could stay awake. So far, the manager in Augusta will not return my phone calls and notes that her employees are leaving for her. Hopefully it will happen soon. read more

I have used this service for August to Atlanta and back a number of times. It's usually much cheaper than a flight or driving to ATL and paying for parking there. I've never had problems with delays on either end. One time I was late arriving in ATL via my flight but I was able to catch the next shuttle. This wasn't Groome's fault and they allowed me to do that without an additional charge. Another time, I arrived early enough to catch an earlier shuttle and they let me change without a problem. I've been on pretty full shuttle but also with just me or 1 or 2 other people. I think their price is fair. In a full shuttle (which isn't frequent for me), it can be a little cramped but it's okay. The ride isn't my favorite as I don't like riding and not driving but it's a good deal and a very welcomed service. I am happy using them and expect to continue to do so. read more

Left me stranded at the airport!! After waiting for an hour outside in the cold, I called Groome Transportation to ask where the shuttle was that I had reserved a seat on weeks ago. I was told that the 3:45 shuttle was not running that day since they did not think any passengers had reserved seats. After explaining my story to two different people, they realized they failed to reserve the correct shuttle time for me. I was told that I could wait for the shuttle that would be arriving at 8:30 pm. They did not care one little bit that I was stranded at the airport and expected me to wait around for hours until their next scheduled shuttle was coming. I can only call this company a gamble in regards to being reliable. Their schedules are confusing and even on paper it's misleading. The staff is unreliable where it's most important and barely reliable where it's least important. If you have hopes on catching a shuttle, but it's a shift that might seem slow or rarely has patrons, the driver (most unreliable) won't show. The dispatcher (barely helpful) can only say the driver "said" they were their, but "no one was there for pick up." From that point on, you are S.O.L. When express your disgust for the service, the dispatcher will just hang up on you. I quote, "I'm answering your call as a courtesy." For $49 per trip one way, you would think that money would've bought some reliability by now. Each van can load at least 6 people that's $294 per trip. They are garbage. If they were good before, they are garbage now. read more

I needed to get to Augusta for a family medical emergency. The flight to Atlanta was far more reasonable, given my need to fly at a moment's notice. Groome was reliable. The driver was at the pick up location when I arrived and we left on time and the estimate time of travel was correct. When I needed to delay my departure from Augusta, Groome accommodated a couple of changes in itinerary without complaint. And again on the way back to Atlanta, the shuttle was on time. I should add that both drivers were safe drivers. No complaints! I would recommend Groome to others. read more

Driver wanted all cash and increased the fair for his own profit and I was told when I had called previously no reservation required and nothing was said about cash as my wife had taken their service at another time and credit card was accepted. The trip from Augusta to the airport was fine. Left on time and arrived promptly. The problem is airport pickup for trip back to Augusta. I was scheduled for 10pm on Friday night and the driver did not show. I called the office at 10:15 and was told it was raining which probably slowed driver down. At 10:40 I called back and Pam finally radioed the driver. He said he was at airport at 10:00 but no one there to pick up. Total lie. The only shuttle that arrived in the pickup area 17-19 was Auburn, and I was talking to that driver at 10:00. I had been sitting at the pickup location OUSIDE of ATL airport with other passengers since before 9:30pm. The next shuttle was scheduled for 11:15pm. I asked for confirmation that the driver would show. Per Pam, the driver didn't have scheduled passengers but she asked him to come to airport anyway just in case. At 11:00 pm I called to verify this driver was coming and she radioed him and he was on his way to pick up the three passengers that had been waiting (however, the driver was already heading back to Augusta because he had no scheduled riders to pickup). I would not attempt to take the shuttle FROM Atl to Augusta again. I asked and asked management to consider a credit to my card but that is doubtful. read more

I was booked on the 6:15pm shuttle which arrived at 6:39pm. Groome didn't communicate the delay at all. It was pouring rain and the driver didn't give consideration for this. She could have checked in customers under the adjacent overhang or after they got on the shuttle. Unfortunately, we had to stand in the rain for 10 minutes including a mother with 3 young children.
