I've had their matcha and mild cacao nama chocolate and they are incredibly soft, smooth, easy to chew. My God it just melts in your mouth. I also go crazy for their cranberry white chocolate bar, I've bought them at least 10 times. The staff are always exceptional and you can ask for samples if you want to try before you buy. I was nosey and asked what was his company's name - Johnson Creams - I learned that I still needed to mature! I asked his commodity and he told me pecan candy. He didn't say "pralines," he said "pecan candy" which indicates he has strong Louisiana ties. He gave me a sample of one he had and I immediately asked where is his store located! He told me he is an online vendor. I got his website address (https://johnson-creams.myshopify.com/) and told him I would order soon. Sometimes you just need a little taste of home. Pecan candy (pralines to some), when done properly, links you right back to The Boot (New Orleans). I came across these confectionery gems and immediately wanted to taste and compare them to pecan candy of old. Would these items bring me back to New Orleans mouth happiness? I will not delay you to my opinion: 1. It's a noticeable size difference from these goods and what you normally see sold in person or at a store. These are big mamma jammas. I have size comparison photos...go take a sneak peek right quick and come back and finish reading my review! They are packed well and packed with care. Who takes the time to individually seal pecan candy THEN provide bubble tape AND THEN sturdy the box internally with necessary packaging? They do! 2. They are not stingy with the nuts in these goods. Do yourself a favor and get you some with both pecans and walnuts in them... you'll thank me later! 3. I did not taste sugar grit at all! They lived up to the "Creams" part of their moniker. 4. Your tongue does not feel as though it is bathing in sugar. They have a great balance of sweetness and texture. 5. You will be upset if you only buy one. All in all, you need to experience these treats for yourself. The owners even took time to answer questions about current and future products. I stopped by here few times with family and tried great samples before purchasing a few varieties. Since I had been wanting to check it out for years but haven't since limited mobility can make things difficult, we took the opportunity to pop in there and see what they had. Dr. Sue believes that a person that consumes her all-natural dark chocolate gets a decadent treat while having a healthier option than the person might otherwise eat. Dark chocolate? Decadent? Healthy? I'm in! While I love dark chocolate, I find that many are just too bitter to enjoy. In my opinion, Dr. Sue's dark chocolate is absolutely perfect! I don't know what % chocolate she uses but I did not find it bitter at all! We purchased a 4-ounce bag of each (1) Toasted Coconut Chocolate Bark, (2) Cranberry Orange Chocolate Bark, and (3) Peppermint Chocolate Bark. I was surprised to find that of the three, I liked the Peppermint Chocolate Bark the least - I thought it would be my #1 but I was wrong. The smooth chocolate in each bark was indeed decadent and definitely the star of the show! The little crunch of the bits of coconut and the cranberry and orange topping another package were definitely best supporting...everything! The space is small, it's open to regular customers to purchase some of the items such as the candy and popcorn, they can purchase the items at the register which is literally less than 12 feet away from you. For $115 per person, I don't think it's fair that you're practically having a tasting in a candy store. It would have been better if the tasting was in a separate area from where customers couldn't come buy the desserts. The tasting was good and as I said, you could tell time and effort had been put into it, I just feel as though the price does not equate to the experience. As stated below, there are better tastings for a cheaper cost. I understand that celebrities have experienced the same thing which adds a sense of luxury, but I'm paying for quality, not previous exposure.
