I did not enjoy my time going to this office I do not enjoy switching dentist because it is a process and I am always praying while in the chair. But my crown was poorly done. It looks more like a glob. It does not look natural. It has no real shape. So after months of praying. and research I went to another dentist to get my second crown done and it is so beautiful. Going here to Dr. Yekikian, the processed was rushed. He is always overbooked and you do not feel properly cared for. However, the place they transfer/ recommend for a root canal is superb. read more

Dr. Yekikian's office takes off without notifying patients. I've been trying to contact the office for over 2 weeks with no success. The voice mailbox is full and there is no message as to when they will return. I was referred to an orthodontist for a root canal that their office does not provide. I received a temporary filling and now need a permanent one. I'm unable to have that done because the office staff have done a disappearing act. Unreliable would pertain to this office. I'm now looking for a new office to finish the job that they started. They've lost me as a patient. read more

This review is mainly about the person/secretary who works behind the front desk. Maybe Dr. Yekikian does not know he has a secretary who is dishonest. Not sure because I'm not going back there. I was referred to Dr. Yekikian's office by my former dentist after they no longer accepted my insurance. I had one checkup/cleaning in February. No issues there. Less than a month later I had a chip on an old filling and made an appointment. The dentist was done on me in 5 minutes. Common procedure where he filled the chip in the filling. As I left, the secretary told me it would be $190. I said I had insurance and right away she said "they don't cover it". I said than if they reject covering it after you have billed them, than I will receive a bill. She adamantly insisted "they don't cover this" and I asked what procedure did they do. She said it was called "Erosion Bonding". I had to return to work and paid with my credit card. I knew something was not right because the standard procedure is to bill the insurance(especially for something as common as fixing a chipped filling). I filed a complaint with my insurance and it took months before I received a reimbursement of $143 out of the 190. My insurance covered that much and my out of pocket would have been $47. The secretary probably did not think I would take the time to make the phone calls and deal with the back and forth with my insurance claims to get my money back. Well, she was wrong. Also, when my insurance claims team called her to get the billing code for the procedure, she provided a non-sensical code that wasn't on any of the standard coding sheets. She was playing games but eventually my insurance confirmed that the procedure was covered partially and reimbursed me $143 out of the $190. Shame on the secretary that works there. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Yekikian's for several years now. In fact, my entire family goes to his office. We've always been pleased with the care that we receive there. Dr. Yekikian and his staff are always very thorough and as efficient as possible. I was especially appreciative of Matti's effort this week to get me an appointment despite the fact that they were incredibly busy. Once I told her that I was going to be out of town and had to get in this week, she was able to squeeze me in. The hygienist we see, Roubina, is amazing!! She is SO patient and thorough and clearly enjoys her job. While it is true that cleanings have to be scheduled far in advance, it is certainly worth the wait and once you become a regular patient and are aware of that, it's really not a problem. Just set yourself a reminder and book your appointment two months ahead of time. It's really worth it. I would recommend Dr. Yekikian and his staff without an hesitation. They are even great with my kids! read more

Dr. Yekikian is the best! There is a long wait because he is so popular and if you are on top of booking your 6 month appointments, it's not a problem at all. He, as well as his front office staff and his hygenists, are professional, have great bed side manners and do great work. It is so hard to believe that he accepts HMO dental insurance. I have been going there for nearly 20 years. He also did my veneers which I have gotten so many compliments on. He is not about the money and doesn't push any type of cosmetic dental work even though he is such a pro at it. He does not ever book, so your appointments are in and out! I came in today for a second opinion and price comparison after being here one other time. when the doctor found out I had two dentist he became very rude to me and told me to go back to whoever saw me. After confirming my other denItsT was exactly right about what needed to be done on my teeth. I do not suggest this place. I do not like the way they schedule appointment 3 months apart anyways. I have a new SECOND ALTERNATIVE assigned dental office, within 1 hr after finding and choosing for myself. stay away from this jerk of a doctor. very unprofessional. read more

I don't even know where to begin! What a huge disappointment! What dentist gives shots to a patient and then sends her home without doing any dental work? Seriously! I had a tooth with a chipped filling. Before the dentist proceeded with anything, I warned him that it normally takes a few extra shots for me to numb the nerve in my tooth. After my warning Dr. Yekikian gave me shots of lidocaine with epinephrine (1c). Normal procedure so far, right? This is where it got confusing: after a few minutes of waiting for the meds to kick in, the doctor proceeded to remove the old filling in my tooth without first checking if I am still sensitive to it. I naturally cringed from pain to which he said," You were right, you are sensitive. We need to give you another appointment. We can't do this tooth today". I was kind of disoriented from the lidocaine and the pain I had just experienced and didn't understand what he was talking about. Why come back when I'm already there! This was the second time I was there for this tooth and got sent home! I understand my tooth was still sensitive and I might have needed more shots to numb the nerve, but I never had a dentist give up after he had already given me the shots and send me home! Basically I was being sent home in pain and with a numb face. Who does that?! When I tried to get information as to why this was happening, he was very dismissive and unsympathetic to the fact that I had come back for this tooth the second time already and had to miss work again. He basically told me it was a waste of time for him as well. Really? I wait two weeks to come see him for this tooth for the second time and when I finally get there, I get my face numbed with shots for no good reason and sent home in pain! And it was a waste of time for Him? He charges my insurance for the visit, doesn't he? Now his office wants to give me a third appointment in three weeks! This is crazy! I already spoke to my previous dentist and my sister who is a doctor. After hearing all the details and the meds and dosage this dentist gave me, they both agreed that Dr. Yekikian's approach, lightly stated, was unprofessional and disappointing. I'm never going back to this office! I'm in more pain now than I was before I saw him! P.S. Also, it takes months to get a cleaning appointment with them! It looks like he is more of a businessman than a doctor. Save yourselves the trouble and find a better dentist to go to! read more

I have been going to Dr. Yekikian for 20 years and am very happy with the services he and his staff provide. He has never encouraged me to get work done I didn't need and he has been very sensitive to how I am feeling during procedures. I also brought my children to Dr. Yekikian's office and it was always a very professional and satisfying experience. I was a patient of Dr. Yekikian's from 2008-2009. Dr. Yekikian, himself, is a good dentist, but I was not very happy with his staff. Whereas most dental offices would do the x-rays and cleaning in your first visit, they separate the two procedures so you basically have to take more than the usual day off from work. What bothered me was that they had me coming back every 3 months because apparently my gum lines were receding (I never had this problem at my other dentists' offices). They insisted that I get this "scaling treatment" done because my gums/teeth desperately needed it. I got the procedure done and boy, did it hurt like hell... and boy, was it pricey! My insurance didn't cover the total cost so I paid a hefty fee out of pocket. BOTTOM LINE -- I felt like his staff was insisting I get procedures done that I really didn't need... which, of course, brings in the money. After I had moved out of the area and had a new dentist, I told my new dentist that my previous dentist said my gums were receding and that I got the scaling treatment done. He inspected my teeth and said it didn't look like I had any issue with my gums!! ... and there you have it. read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Yekikian for a few years now, and very happy with his work. I've got cleaning here many times, and the staff is always helpful and caring. Moreover, when I had an emergency, Dr. Yekikian himself called me back on a Saturday morning and helped to schedule an appointment for the very next Monday. I never waited for more than 15 minutes, maybe because I usually make appointments in advance. Overall, I'm glad to have found a good dentist. read more

i'm so glad I changed to Dr Yekikian. I had gone to another dentist about a year prior to seeing Dr Yekikian. The first dentist had found 7 cavities that needed to be treated... I was in shock, never had a cavity in my life! They were going to schedule the appointments and had given me an estimate of over $3,000 for all of the work that had to be done. Turned out I got pregnant ,canceled all of the appointments, and never saw that dentist again. Fast forward 9 months, I had my baby and decided to schedule an appointment with a new dentist cause i had a bad feeling about the first one. Dr Yekikian congratulated me on perfect teeth after he reviewed the X rays, said there was no need to schedule for another appointment and no need for deep cleaning or extra BS either (the first dentist had charge me $700 for "deep cleaning", the only thing i got done there). I was so relieved to know i didn't have any cavity, but totally horrified that the first dentist was going to charge me and mess up with my perfectly fine teeth... so crazy! I totally trust Dr Yekikian and I'm very happy he's my dentist. read more

Try someone else first, unless you like to wait, book several appts for basic services, receive little to no service/advice. If you have insurance, lucky you but more importantly, lucky Dr. Yekikian - it seems to be his only motivation for being in business - bill for the basics as many times as you can b/c the basics require so little of his time. 1. Chatty Cathy (Mati) receptionist who would rather chat on the tele on what was obvious social calls rather than greet patients. 2. Must enjoy waiting room - arrived 2 min early for afternoon appt. Was called into exam room 1 hr later. Dentist arrived 15 min thereafter. 3. Dr. Do-little seriously. I came in for an annual check-up and cleaning (that wasn't performed - more on that later). When the Dentist (Mr. Yek) finally arrived, he offered a nice enough greeting but very little after that. I explained what brought me in, I also explained that I experienced intense sensitivity when eating sweets on one side of my mouth. He ordered his assistant (nice lady) to do x-rays (obvi - it's what I expect during an annual) but, then nothing thereafter. Said, to use sensidyne - I explained that I was already using it, he said well, I don't know what else to tell you. Thanks! No joke - I saw this man for all of about 2 min for my appointment. 4. Incapable of chewing gum and talking - so, if you're expecting, as I did to get your annual check-up and cleaning done in one appointment, DONT! Apparently, it requires two appts to be made for this very complicated service. 5. Don't be late - I know I know, contrary to point 2 above but, for my mandatory second appt for a cleaning, I arrived 15 min late since I waited for 1 hr and 15 in the waiting room last time, only to learn from Chatty Cathy who looked up from the phone (yet another casual convo) to say that the hygienist just left 2 min ago because my appointment was 15 min ago. Ok, I seriously thought I was being punked. In my head I was thinking, well, if she left two min ago then call her to come back. But, alas I guess that would have been too much like right and perhaps she didn't want to further interrupt her casual call, so I just asked for a copy of my records. 6.
