We met a FB sale in Columbus. Wanted to feed my Chinese urge. I like neighborhood restaurants vrs a chain anytime. Converted many a friend to pass the chain. Tee Kee did not disappoint. A restaurant that prepares good solid, hot made to order meals. We both picked the Hunan Chicken, just right spicy taste. The pork fried rice was some of the best I/we have had in a long while. A busy place with lots of "regulars" stopping by in our short time eating. I can testify that we liked the food, tonight after a long day of yard work. Did not feel like cooking, suggested making the hour drive to Yee Kee, - response OK. I can eat good Chinese food 7 days a week. Not the spouse. Surprised me today. We will return! We are visiting Columbus tonight and wanted some Chinese food...of course looking thru Yelp I found Yee Kee, and I'm sure glad we did! It's a ma & pa Chinese restaurant with the usual American Chinese food, BUT, they also have traditional Chinese food- the kind you would find in China Town Chicago. We ordered the Hot & Spicy Beef w Cilantro, Eggplant and Tofu Pot, and Fish Filet w Black Bean Sauce. All 3 were great and are VERY large portions so there is plenty to take out! A nice, convenient spot on 25th; they have plenty of parking for carry out and their staff is very friendly and efficient. I haven't dined in, but have picked up a few times. Their lunch deals are incredibly generous; you get a large portion of the entree and either fried rice, white rice, or brown rice for only 7.25. Their food is good and they offer all of the Chinese American standards (sweet & sour pork, General Tso's chicken, etc.). They also have a traditional Chinese menu; the mapo tofu and lamb with cumin are great. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Unassuming on the outside, but the food and customer service are what make this place memorable. The gentleman at the front is enthusiastic and super friendly--it's clear he loves his job & the service is amazing for this little restaurant. I ordered the spicy braised beef noodle soup. Great portion for low price and so delicious! There is the American menu and the authentic Chinese menu. I took home the extra soup so I can eat it again w more noodles/rice. Rarely does a Chinese restaurant live up to their expectations. Yee Kee has impressed me in a manner that only my mother's cooking is capable of. They serve American Chinese food and traditional Chinese food. I simply asked them to select two of their best options and I was not disappointed. I've been here several times. Every time the food is hot, and ready on time. I usually order online since they don't accept cards in person, only on their website. I usually get the chicken lo mien pint for $8. It's a very large portion, so I feel like it's a great deal. They are always quick, and friendly. The food has never disappointed. Love this place. I tried it once on a work trip and now eat here every time I'm in Columbus. The people running this place are so nice. The food is really good. They have a authentic Chinese menu and a general menu. I love their wonton soup and hot and sour soup. Their veg lo mein is my go to every time! Their chicken noodle soup was pretty good too. Can't wait to try the other items. Just FYI, they only accept cash or cheque at the counter but you can pay through CC if you order online for pick up. Pretty good Chinese! It is your standard Chinese American Restaurnt. They have an online order form but apparently if you go in person you have to pay in cash. The food is a bit above mediocre (I got steamed dumplings - kinda good but the dough was too thick). But everyone else seemed to really like their food in my group! read more

Husband and I ordered takeout. I found the fried rice to lack flavor of any kind-it just tasted like oily rice. The chicken was undercooked-not raw but definitely not cooked. My husband had beef and said it was "okay". I've been to a lot of cities in China and have eaten a variety of authentic Chinese food. Yee Kee is the first restaurant that I have gone to in the US that serves real Chinese food. Pay attention when you walk in, there is a hand written menu on the wall to the right, this is the real Chinese food. I ordered off of that and was very pleased. If you want the Americanized Chinese, that's available as well in the normal banner sign. I will absolutely go back there when I'm back in Columbus. read more

This is the go to Chinese food restaurant I usually go to for carry out. The only drawback is they don't deliver. Their rangoons are shaped like little pouches. They aren't sweet like I prefer but they still taste good. read more

Yee Kee is full of Chinese guys at lunch and almost all of them are having the "soft noodle soup", which is pretty much the Chinese take on chicken noodle soup. It's obviously popular, so I tried it a couple of times. It's an enormous portion of soup - too much for me - so I moved back to the regular menu. Fresh ingredients well cooked. They capture "the taste of the wok" quickly cooking the food in very hot well seasoned woks. There's almost a caramelized flavor that's missing from lesser Chinese cooking. My usual is Cashew Chicken - a trivial dish - chicken, cashews, celery, carrots, and a few other veggies. Something this simple has to be cooked well to impress. Yee Kee is a mom & pop carry out place with a dozen tables. The owners are attentive and they'll remember you after two visits. Yee Kee is cash only. read more

They have basically two different menus, authentic Chinese, and typical Americanized Chinese. I mostly go for the American versions, they don't have typical bland Americanized spicing which is a good thing. Everything is above average including portion size, plus if you feel adventurous there are all the authentic items when you are in the mood. I can never convince my family to order anything other than Garlic chicken or Generals Tso's, but it is always good and hot and fast. read more

This place is hit or miss on the quality of the food. I usually get the General Tso's chicken and it's either really good and fresh or taste like it's been warmed up half a dozen times.
