We've been here several times to eat and have never been disappointed. Since we were already in Columbus we went here to have lunch with family. I did decide to try a new entree this time and I had the Mandarin orange chicken dish with white rice. It was delicious and plentiful enough for a carryout for dinner. I had my usual hot and sour soup and again it tasted fresh and fantastic. Even on Sunday at lunch there was no wait to be seated even without a reservation. Our server was very friendly and welcoming as if we'd been friends for years. That is so appreciated. I think on my next visit I may have fried rice and try a chef's special. read more

This was our first experience at Sophea's Asian Restaurant in Columbus, Indiana. My wife and I both have family that area. We had heard that the food at this particular restaurant resembled recipes that the old Mark Pi restaurant had offered for years. We agree. The selections are a big step above the "normal" Asian offerings you can find. Service was friendly and fast. We had the lunch size entree which includes an egg roll. The dishes were both freshly made with absolutely the freshest of ingredients which is normally not common at this type of restaurant. The restaurant is located in an old Texas Roadhouse facility which still had evidence of the western cowboy decor. But the food is genuine Asian fare. read more

First time me and my wife have ate here, definitely a little different than the Texas Roadhouse that use to be here, but food was good, the portions are good sized portions, my wife and I got different types of chicken which were good, the service was good a little bit of a wait, but nothing to terrible and the atmosphere was good, not really noisy at all. read more

Another Asian addition to Columbus Indiana located where the old Texas Roadhouse used to be. Sophea's menu is on their Facebook webpage and I couldn't find a non Facebook webpage for their website. They have lunch specials worth checking out for less than 8 bucks. Get the chicken with broccoli as the go to safe and delicious option. Wonton soup is on par with normal mom and pop Asian places but fresh. And they should be as the restaurant opened up on April 1st, 2022. Next time I want to try their Singapore noodles. I went back and forth and back and forth and back and forth from 2 stars and 3 stars but I just decided 3 since it's a new place and I wish them well. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and time to figure it all out. So the server was nice but it was almost awkward because she was over friendly. She put her hands on my little sister a few times and she also casually sat down in a booth with another group and started casually chit chatting and eventually took their order. I thought they knew eachother but then after paying close attention I realized they didn't. When the Asian woman came out and saw the server sitting in the booth she was kinda like. Uh what is she doing? And the server started joking around like oh I'm just gonna chill here, come take our order. I don't know it was just all weird and awkward and too close. I mean like....we are in the middle of a pandemic? The food came out quickly, and was ok I guess. I would have rather eaten a peanut butter sandwich though to be honest. It was just ok. Not to mention I had a huge piece of plastic in my meal. Didn't love that lol. The gyoza was the soggiest gyoza I've ever had and it was actually difficult to eat because it broke apart and was really wet and slimy. I didn't get the beer I had ordered I got something else, but it's fine I'll drink almost any beer. I drank it all before the meal came and she never asked if I wanted another or a different drink and my sister never got a refill. Idk, if it wasn't Asian food (my favorite) I'd probably give one star but I feel bad and rude. But I'm being honest lol I probably won't be back. For a long time atleast. Hopefully it all comes together better soon. read more

This was a great find. Everything had a great flavor. We shared the appetizer platter for two. We enjoyed everything on it. I am glad we shared the General Tso entree. It was delicious. Absolutely amazing. If you were a fan of mark pies, this is where they moved! Out of the mall and into this cute and quaint building. I think they just left the chain. The food is delicious and the decorations inside are decadent. Perfect date spot, and also family friendly! We had a group of 22 for Easter and they had no problem delivering food in a timely manner. Waitress was kind and funny! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. :) read more

I don't live in Columbus but I do work here Monday - Friday so when my birthday which is July 16th came my boss and a few friends from work took me out to lunch and we went to Sophea's which I was thrilled about because I love Chinese food. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the it was very nice neat and clean. When our waitress came over she was very friendly and talkative and just really made us feel comfortable. She was also very efficient and knowledgeable about the menu and letting us know exactly what certain dishes were and the spice level and etc. I ordered the vegetable lo-mein with an eggroll and omg it was so good besides the fact they give you a nice portion so much so that a few people in our group needed to go boxes. I was so thrilled at finding an amazing Chinese restaurant in town that several times since my birthday my mom and I she also works in Columbus at the hospital so I will call and order food for the family before I get off and we go by and pick it up on our way home. I'm cutting them a little slack since they've only been open for about 10 days. If it was an established business I'd give them a 2 star rating. If you liked Mark Pi's you will love this place. Similar menu and I think the ownership has some connection to the old Mark Pi that was in the Fairoaks mall. 5 stars on the food and it came out in a timely manner. One star on the logistics. They opened at noon, we got there at 1155, and about 15 to 20 people standing around. No system for whose first in line, no one taking names , no lines on the floor indicating how to queue up, so it was total chaos. Everyone that came in for the next thirty minutes had a look of confusion on their face as to where do I stand to get in line. Some left. Once we were seated things were fairly normal which was amazing considering they reached their 72 seat capacity within 20 minutes of opening. After we finished our meal it took about 20 minutes to get a check so we could leave. But again, I think they are in day 10, so I expected as such. In summary the food is a 5/5, logistics are 1/5, but I think they will solve those issues in short order. In the short term be patient and visit on off hours during the week. read more

Got takeout for four and it was ready after only 20 minutes. I tried the Empress Chicken and it was very good, although not very spicy like it said on the menu. Huge portions. We loved Mark Pi's and the menu is largely the same. There is some of the same decor also and the renovations from Texas Roadhouse are really well done.
