This place has been a standard in Columbus for many years. However, I just tried it for the first time on Monday for lunch. I had the Kung-Pao Chicken lunch special. The food was ready for pickup up very promptly and was very hot. The lady at the counter was nice. This place is old school Chinese takeout. The food was ok, however I felt the dish had way too much celery and peanuts and not near enough pieces of chicken. So I was rather disappointed. At risk of it sounding negative re: Covid-19 precautions and I didn't mean to. The staff is behind a completely enclosed front counter with pass-through drawers for paying and picking up your food. I was hungry and felt like having chinese food. I decided to Great Wall. Entering the restaurant, I noticed it was very clean. It was quite empty during the Sunday lunch hour. Great Wall is your typical storefront chinese place, alongside a strip of other stores and restaurants. I appreciated the friendly smiling faces, and with that alone makes you feel like the food is already going to be good. I ordered by phone, the General Tso's chicken lunch, and substituted the pork fried rice and replaced with white rice. I also asked for an egg roll because you only get an egg roll with the dinner special. When I got home and dug into my lunch....flavor met me almost before I even placed the food in my mouth, delicious!!!! The chicken was crispy and sweet and spicy on the outside, and tender juicy meat on the inside. So crispy and fresh, it was like that bite you take out of a juicy piece of fried chicken, and the hot flavorful juice hits the other side of your cheek...that's exactly how fresh this chicken was to me! The white rice was your typical best friend to balance the sweet and spicy. The egg roll was really crispy and fresh as well, and the veggies inside (shredded cabbage) seemed very fresh too. Heck, it was all FRESH, lol!! Thank you Great Wall for a delightful lunch! If you are still browsing for a chinese place in Columbus, you better stop and go to Great Wall!! Aug 2019 - I'm a local and there are really 2 places in town to get good takeout Chinese food. GW is one (YeeKee - cash only - is the other). GW is always fast and friendly with a similar selection as other takeout Chinese restaurants. Good prices, good parking, good hours, and excellent food. The place has been around for years, so they must be doing something right. read more

What can I say, I just love Chinese take-out! It's definitely one of my guilty pleasures. So far, everything that I have gotten here has been delicious. Usually I get the Szechuan tofu and theirs has a thicker sauce than most places which I really like. Plus, they don't skimp on the mushrooms in this dish which I LOVE mushrooms! Additionally, my food is always ready in the time they tell me and always pleasant to me. They have a nice assortment of vegetarian dishes and will make anything you want without meat which is a major bonus to me! read more

I see they take cards and order sesame chicken with white rice. Very foreboding when I walk in. You have to yell over a giant plexiglass wall for them to hear you. Then a drawer slides out for your payment. keep in mind there is a language barrier bigger than the great wall (pun intended). They have a $7 minimum to use a card which isn't on their website. Since I didn't have cash I bought a coke and got the total lover $7. Then your food is placed behind a door. My issue is you have to touch a pen to sign your cc statement and then open the door that everyone touches. We work SO hard to save ourselves that little details go ignored. Then I see all the plasticware is loose in baskets (during a pandemic). Okay so this hasn't been the best but I got out. Opened my bag up when I got to my destination and what did I get? General Tso's Chicken and fried rice. All those little frustrations led up to a less than stellar review. It was my first time there and I doubt there will be a return trip. read more

They added a few Thai selections to their menu. The Pad Thai Shrimp is great! As far as their Chinese offerings they about average for your run of the mill Chinese restaurant. However, the wonton egg drop soup is terrific! read more

Being an Indian, I love spicy food. Singapore Mei Fun is AWESOME. All the dishes I ever tried were very good. Rice is dry so it sticks in the mouth. May be chinese rice is supposed to be a bit sticky so that it will be easier to eat with chopsticks. read more

Cheap and cheerful! We eat here all the time. Tonight we tried the boneless short ribs for the first time, and I have a new favorite dish there now. So flavorful and the small order for $5.95 was HUGE! The staff is happy and very sweet. The rangoon is great there too. read more
