Usually a good experience, however I couldn't believe it when paying the tab. I was being forced to leave a tip. Mind you I dropped cash bills into the tip jar on the sushi bar. Went to kings for lunch . While there having a delicious meal. I lost money out of my pocket,I knew it was gone when I was there , but I figured it was home or in my car . This is the Grand Opening after the COVID. We just happened upon this charm. The best Oriental food we have ever had!! It's a buffet. The food is kept fresh and it's actually HOT which is so unusual for a buffet. It might be about a 45min drive, but this is where we would come to when we want an oriental buffet. We have traveled much further for good food. It makes for a fun, relaxing evening. Something different!. I met Leeza the manager. She was curious as to why I was taking pictures of the food. I asked if she had heard of YELP and she excitedly replied yes. I told her I was an Elite writer and she began thanking me. Like everywhere the COVID has affected this wonderful restaurant. They had to close for 8 months. Imagine all of the individually owned restaurants that had to close for 8 mod with no income. The employees had no income. This place had a car drive thru its front window by accident about 1 year ago and finally just re-opened recently. The food seems better than it was before and they have sushi which is a bonus. Place looked very nice, was clean, food was warm, although sometimes before it was on the cold side, everything seemed fresh and tasted fine this trip. We are up and down Interstate 74 quite a bit, and it's usually a convenient lunch or dinner stop. We actually stopped this Sunday evening to have BBQ near here, but that restaurant is closed on Sundays, so we decided to give King's Buffet a try, not really knowing what to expect. It was pretty darn good! It had a larger selection of food than many Chinese buffets, and it was all fresh and swapped out on a regular basis. Your not disappointed though, because you've already set your standards low enough to where your satisfied with your dinning experience. Worst buffet experience Ive had in a while and on my birthday too!!! They got my husband another coke and then came and put what was left of the old coke into the new one which shocked me. But even more shocking was when we weren't even finished with our meals and the server came to us and asked us if we would pay and stood there and watched me dig through my wallet till I gave her my credit card!!! A typical Chinese Buffet with more than average selections. As long as you go around the prime dining times you'll be ok. Don't ever go the last hour of ANY buffet - things are not typically kept stocked. I agree with fellow Yelper (Chad M) I think their food, selections & operation is a step up from before their remodel a while back. Employees are pretty friendly and good at clearing dishes and keeping your drinks filled. Worth the price of admission and good when you're in a hurry and don't want to wait on food being prepared. Which brings up another option that if you don't like what you see displayed they have an Hibachi grill where you can pick out the ingredients you want to have them cook it fresh & hot. read more

I almost always order out, and its hot, fresh almost every time. When I do have lunch there, the buffet is a delight. They seldom disappoint. One time was not so fresh, but one time in the several years they have been here is not too bad. They are honest and hardworking and I sometimes wonder if the bad reviews are the result of cultural clashes. They hover to see if you want or need anything, not make sure you pay as one reviewer posted. I don't have a problem with them and will continue to order from them as long as they grace us with their presence. It's good for what it is. They usually have a pretty good food selection and it's not all old and crusty like some buffets. The staff seems to hover once the check is brought though. You can pay on the way out or pay the waitress but they hover until you pay them. First time going after living in shelbyville going on 3 yrs now wish i had gone sooner! Price is around 10 bucks "i went around 4" plus drink selection is pretty big all the food i had was hot and fresh nothing was "chewy" or seemed old. Plenty of sushi choices and dessert choices. Waitress was very polite and quick on drink refills etc. The place was very clean i didnt see anything on the floor or on the buffet that wasnt suppose to be there.
