They helped me solve a big HVAC problem with urgency and fairness in pricing. I highly recommend contacting Brandon before you make any HVAC decisions or to get advice on what to do. I live in a downtown condo with electric heat and AC. I selected this contractor to replace my furnace and AC in part because of recommendations from my building as well as online reviews. The job took two more days than quoted, which is not a big deal. However, there was simply no communication. I came home one day to find my closet doors still laying on the floor as they were apparently done with the installation. The job site was frankly messy. There was dust, screws and parts lying about. I got out my vacuum and dust, drywall and screws fell out of it. I texted Brandon the owner, asking if they were done and if he had used my vacuum. His response was: "we did not use your vacuum." "Oh we did use the vacuum once." And then "I will buy you a new vacuum." The first weekend I had issues as the furnace would not keep up. A part fell off the front cover and when I put the closet doors back, a tube hit the doors. After several go arounds I was advised by Brandon that I should replace my condo's electrical panel to give more electrical space because there was another element in the furnace that he would then hook up. I did need to replace the panel and did so and let Brandon know the day it was ready. 2 1/2 weeks later no word, but I ran into Brandon in my building. He came up to look at the new panel and said yes all he had to was hook up the wire. 2 1/2 weeks later no word, and I texted him as a reminder. He said they were 'having trouble getting ahold of me" and that he needed to give me a quote for this. When I reminded him of our conversation and that I had text messages from him saying that all he needed to do was hook up another wire he responded saying "he had gotten a new phone and lost all of his messages." Hooking up the new wire would now cost $250, which I refused. He finally came and completed the AC hookup and sent me an invoice. My name was misspelled, and the date was wrong. I swept up more screws and parts discarded outside by the AC unit. read more

I highly recommend Yearound. Starting with the very first phone call to the company to ask about services and prices, the woman who answers the phone is very knowledgeable about what service entails, prices, and options and that's unusual to find. We had 3 PTAC heat/air wall units cleaned and one that is 12 years old inspected to see if it's working well enough. I learned that the unit was in good working order and could last for many more years. Some companies might've said it was time for a replacement to make a sale. This company is great! After TRS Sales stopped working on wall unit a/c and heat (see previous review, UGH), I was referred to Yearound. They came out last year to replace a piece that was stopping my a/c from getting cold, and the two guys explained everything along the way and were very friendly. They wear booties over their shoes to not get your carpet dirty. Yesterday I had Yearound out again to clean and checkup on the unit to make sure it's running smoothly before summertime. I got one of the same workers, and he was just as friendly and honest again. Plus, these guys come out to Crystal Lake from Chicago. VERY rare and I appreciate it so much. Excellent service and very knowledgeable team. The tech showed up as scheduled and took the time to explain everything. My wall unit needed to go into the shop for more detailed evaluation. Brandon called back a few days later and explained the problems with my unit. He advised that rather than dump a lot of money into my older unit I'd be better off getting it replaced. He could have just advised doing the repairs and made more money but instead was honest. They only charged me for the initial service call and nothing for the work in the shop. I'm sure it took some time to take it apart and evaluate it and I was charged nothing for that. I will keep their info for my future AC maintenance as well as recommend them to others in need of service. read more

I called these guys after reading previous reviews. I am glad I did, I had them evaluate a PTAC in a room of a condo I recently purchased, it had a smell. They cleaned the unit and gave me options for either a further cleaning or a replacement. They were not pushy at all and very professional. He gave me his opinion and said he would follow up by sending me the quotes for units I asked about in case I decide on replacement. Very nice to have good non pushy and excellent service. In the past I have used another area heat/cool establishment at my previous home. I wish I had known about year round. read more

Awful Service - DO NOT USE! Had them replace a PTAC unit last year. They re-installed the unit improperly on an angle and the water drained into the bedroom damaging the drywall and baseboard. They came out three additional times to fix the problem. A month later they tried to charge me for the additional visits when it was their fault. I had already paid $900.00 for the unit/service. I told them that I would only pay for the additional service calls if they would reimburse me for the damages to the bedroom. I didn't hear from them again. One year and one month later the unit went out again. I could not get a hold of them and left a message. They called back the next day, but I missed their call. They left me this voicemail message, "We feel that we will not be able to satisfy your needs so it's in the best interest for both of us if you find another vendor." Brandon Brod (the owner of Yearound) will restore your faith in service providers. I work for a fairly large building (201 apartments) in Uptown, Chicago. Yearound started servicing our PTAC (packaged terminal air conditioner and heater) units in 2009, and I haven't looked back. No excuses, no problems, just excellent work and service. Our residents are very happy with his technicians (no complaints, which is extremely rare), his prices are competitive, and he backs up his work. Brandon is very knowledgeable in his field, and has integrity almost to a fault. Yearound service is a company that I can't recommend highly enough. Before we started using Yearound, the repair and semi-annual service of our PTAC's was a source of anxiety for me, our residents, and my staff. Now it is not.
